@@Egal0190 A large part of Chinese people are modest when they treat others, especially strangers. For example, if you say to them, "You did a great job," they will say, "No, no, just so-so." This may be due to China's Confucian culture. In addition, the elderly in China do not use VPN software to browse UA-cam or other foreign software. They cannot see some bad social conditions abroad, such as gender independence and racial confrontation in the United States. For many elderly people, especially ordinary people, they still believe that things abroad are better than at home, and "tap water abroad is sweeter than at home."

Chongqing was never a colony, but during World War II, it temporarily served as the capital of China and experienced extensive bombing by Japan. When he was young, China was still in the process of developing, and Western countries were indeed ahead of China at that time. Even today, some older generations still hold impressions of Western countries based on what they were like during their youth.

Visited Shenzhen often, also Beijing, Xian, Hangzhou, Lin'an, Chongqing, Suzhou. They are all great. I liked Xian for its unique history and Lin'an for it's countryside beauty. Easy day trip to Hangzhou and Suzhou from Shanghai, you could consider that if you are planning a longer stay in that area.

when you link the payment apps to a foreign credit card, you have to do a few manual identification verifications after spending a certain amount. it's just fraud prevention and to protect them against chargebacks. most people who only stay for a couple days don't hit the check threshold but if you are staying longer and are big spenders, you might have to do several along the way 😂

There's actually more western restaurants in China than just KFC and McDonald's. The reason why you're seeing so much KFC & McDonald's is because China has the most KFC restaurants in the world with over 11,000 chains compared to the US at 4300. China also ranks 3rd globally in McDonald's behind the US and Japan. Expect to see a lot of Starbucks too while in China.

Actually it has 2 bars but this one is outside! They used to be really reasonable on the price but recently increased the price a little bit. But I mean you are on 42nd floor , in a 5-star luxury hotel, and with such amazing view, that price seems reasonable again 😂
The other hidden gem of mine is Nicolo hotel across the river, called Bar 62. By the name of it you can tell it’s on the 62nd floor so it’s higher than here, but an indoor place.

In minute 33:19 the bracelet looks amazing and shiny. I believe from the information about the root you read, the root you picked is not found in abundance or it is rather scarce or difficult to find or pick, thus, the hefty price you paid. I don't think it is a tourist/foreigner price necessarily, but rather due to the scarcity or difficulty in finding it perhaps (it would be like comparing the price of gold and copper, for example, where copper is more abundant than gold and thus more affordable than gold).

I used to love this place and I always came here, find a tea house or just Starbucks to do homework. As it went popular there is no longer any chance for anyone to study here 😂😂😂 back in the time I could drive in there on first floor to the parking lot with my friends and show them this place, now it is even impossible to drive near it. When it’s national holidays, the bridge would be closed to traffic, making it a pedestrian bridge just for the tourists...... and the whole bridge is packed with people😢

    1. Some cats have very fragile constitutions, and bacteria that are insignificant to humans may be pathogenic or even life-threatening to them. I hope this doesn't offend you as we locals go through these processes too. I even wash my hands with sanitizer before entering some pet stores.
2 is to eliminate the smell and prevent them from being too excited. For example, you have been exposed to other animals or irritating food before.

And as a local I am compelled to ask: how was your staying? 😂 I hope you guys did enjoy! 11:01

The waterfall/forest configuration actually feels like Qatar Airport.
Tbh, Ciqikou feels a bit plain, but people tend to miss the nature around Chongqing and Sichuan province places like the Wulong District near Chongqing, or JiuZhai Valley nation park in Sichuan Province north of Chengdu. And for dare devils, park like the dream Odovician theme park is also near by.

You can use Alipay in Chengdu, but the problem in Chongqing may be due to the lack of cooperation agreements between foreign banks and some public transportation agencies or corporate institutions in China. This problem will not occur with any local bank card in China, so foreign tourists can only prepare some cash as a backup.

  • @ivyshy98
    @ivyshy98 Місяць тому +3

always carry some cash around. if you have the apps linked to a foreign credit card, not all vendors can accept it. they have to have a merchant/business account to be able to accept payments linked to a foreign credit card. this usually only applies to small street vendors and non-official businesses but in some cases like chongqing metro they don't have a merchant account 😅 probably because they don't expect foreign tourists(and to save money on transaction fees). just think of it as some 'cash only' businesses in the west. locals don't have this problem because their payment is linked to a domestic chinese bank account. there are other work arounds but just easier to have some cash in backup.

Not sure of the name, pretty sure it was all in Chinese, but if he goes in through the main entrance and turns right after the main gate like we did, it wasn’t very far after that. It’s the only shop that does it there from what we saw so shouldn’t be too hard to find 😃

These include three UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Dazu Stone Carvings (ua-cam.com/video/Elwv7_oyPZ0/v-deo.html), Wulong Karst National Park, and Three Gorges of the Yangtze River (www .ua-cam.com/users/shortsMSllXo-QEqU)

My interpretation may be correct, but what the man said seems a bit off, probably because he has never seen the real England.
The correct should be, "England cannot be compared to China, because China is much more advanced."

He didn't complete the sentence because you can hear him say the word 'hua' at the end, which means language. 'Ying Guo' = England, 'Hua' = language. He was probably saying 'We Chinese are unable to comprehend the English language'

What that person said is: China cannot catch up with Britain. Or perhaps it's dialects that we cannot speak English in China. Because it's a dialect, I can't quite understand it either. But in terms of context, it should be the former. After all, Britain is a developed country. He has no ill intentions, I hope you don't feel sad.😂

18:55 ok that translation app is ass XD He said "We are China, can't surpass your UK" 我们是中国,赶不了你们英国. Which is a general consensus among Chinese ppl that China is still just a developing country, there is a lot of work needs to be done to catch up to developed countries.
