They are so young here. This is the year I was born. You can tell how faded they are here. Everything was so different back then. You can hear the sound of the tube amps. Great reaction.

Not sure what I was doing when I was 21, but it wasn't this! Robert Plant at 21, sounding like an old soul! Nice reaction Duane.

I KNOW all genres. I was as the ripe age for ALL genres..a tennager in the 1980's which was the beginnings of rap. Rap comes from rock n roll believe this or not. My household as a child was all of rock n roll. As a teen in the 80's I had a younger brother that gravitated to rap. Because of him I got into Snoop Dog big time & everything that was hip at the time..absolutely loved! I can say 100% that the rock n roll genre will always be here to stay in my heart deeply. Rap is a genre that can go.I will not miss. I am well rounded in rap. I can say that rock n roll is dear to my heart.🔴

The live version is a remake of the original. You probably need to react to both

Robert wrote this about a woman he left. True story.

Nah, it's a cover of a song written by Anne Bredon in the late 50s. Joan Baez recorded her version in 1962, and that's the version Page first heard. This is LZ's version of the song, which is quite different than either Bredon's or Baez's, but it's a cover all the same.

@@jmar7631 not true I think you got your facts mixed up. Plant wrote it and Bredon covered it later on.

@@danielgerald4551 From wikipedia: "Anne Leonard Bredon...was an American folk singer, best known for composing the song "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" while she was a student at University of California, Berkeley in the late 1950s."
From another article: "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" is a folk song written by Anne Bredon in the late 1950s. Joan Baez recorded a solo version for her 1962 album, "Joan Baez in Concert", and a variety of musicians subsequently adapted it ... including Led Zeppelin."
And another: "Guitarist Jimmy Page heard Baez' version and began developing "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" early in his career as a session guitarist. He played the song for singer Robert Plant during their first meeting at Page's riverside home at Pangbourne in late July 1968."
There are many other sources available on the internet regarding who wrote this song, and the covers of it by various artists.
Edit: Although Plant contributed to the development of songs on album 1, the first song he wrote lyrics for in their entirety was "Thank You".
