My heart races and it feels like I have a cotton ball in my throat when I eat any kind of sausage, bologna, and bacon. It doesn't last long. I think it has to do with the fillers. Happened when I used to eat PB too. When I leave those foods alone I have no problems.
I'm thankful that my hubby reads labels. I never bring my reading glasses shopping and I accidentally bought bacon with erythritol (a sugar alcohol) at the farmers market. I personally think that crap should come with a big black box warning label because it cleans me out, just a little bit and I'm dying in the bathroom. I feel like I have to make all my food from scratch because of all the crap they can put in food without including it on the label - "natural flavors" could mean anything :( and GRAS is also BS.
Wow this is new? Just subscribed luv your style Anthony! If ketones (keto) is the preferred food of brain I'd like to know research proving it because the exercise folks for the over 50 men are still saying you need crabs err carbs!
Has anybody tried this trick before? I was trying to maximize the absorbtion of meat that i eat by avoiding drinking too much water between 15minutes before to 1.5 hours after eating a major meat meal, trying to avoid diluting my stomach acid too much with water. What i observe other than staying not hungry longer, is that my cramps are way less if any at all. Does this mean my electrolytes are higher with the trick?
Am carnivore but i had to introduce kefir and full fat greek yogurt because the probiotic pills where doing nothing and I keep getting UTI and i cannot get rid of my kalona whipping cream and kalona cottage cheese.
1:30:00 that's what i had, a ton of fat tissue "between" muscles so I looked bigger. When i started carnivore i lost of a ton of size, but my numbers were pretty much the same after.
That is very interesting, I should try to experiment with increasing my salt to see if it lowers my BP. I have hEDS and probably POTS and I've seen recommendations for us to consume 5-10g salt/day. I took a med, lost a ton of weight (been underweight for over a decade) and as soon as I became underweight (I've never been overweight) my perfect BP shot through the roof. I've finally gained some weight doing carnivore but my BP is still stubbornly too high - never lower than 140/90 so every time I go to the doctor they want me to take some BP med. Stupid docs kept prescribing diuretics which made me feel horrible because I'm usually dehydrated (constant diarrhea ever since taking the med/losing tons of weight). I love salt but it so hard to go against all the "no salt" dogma doctors have pushed for decades. Thanks for the advice, hope it works.
@@laurenann8859 Good luck! I don't know why the concern is too much salt, when they have to know that low salt causes high BP. If you have enough your body can regulate it. If you don't have enough, you just don't have enough.
I have changed my lifestyle to carnivore as of March 1. I’m feeling better than i have in such a long long time. I actually enjoy waking up in the morning knowing Im not hurting. My concern is hearing “make sure you’re eating enough”. I track my meals and I try to get in 1500 calories, but many times it’s under 1000, basically, I’m just not hungry. Exercising is difficult. Having knee surgery in 3 weeks. Then I’ll be back to walking. What Im basically doing is listening to my body and if I’m feeling good, I’m not worrying about how much I’m eating. Your thoughts please
@@tanyawieczorek6603 it’s this coming Wednesday, May 1st. Thanks for asking. Today being said, I have a ton of anxiety and finding it difficult staying carnivore. I’m wanting to grab everything in site that is normally considered comfort food. It’s been difficult. I’ll be so glad when it’s all said and done and I’m in recovery mode.
For the vitamin D25 @6:55 was Anthony using the correct units? I think around 60ng/mL is probably okay. it would be in nmol/L that you would be looking at around 160.
Q:What about fermented foods? Does fermentation transform carbs so that a fermented food becomes low carb? Dr Sean Omara recommends adding them to the carnivore diet.
I follow and agree with Dr Sean O'Mara. We are actually taking in "probiotics from fermented foods", not the original state of the vegetables or the beans (like the Japanese Natto, Miso Paste and Tempeh or fermented black beans). In fact, we are consuming strains of beneficial bacteria. Sending greetings to you from Singapore. I am a medical researcher in Asia for over 17 years, into research studies related to Immunology focusing on Gerontology and I like to offer my opinion based on findings on elderly and some Centenarians' diet which are mainly time and portion restricted, similar to IF. I find more chronic disorders in humans when they are consuming foods that cause and trigger hormonal and endocrine imbalances, disruptions or dysfunctions, most often leading to autoimmune and chronic diseases. As long as we steer clear of such stimulating foods that may affect some people but not others, we are all good. Personally, I advocate IF and I am on a "HyperCarnivore" diet with over 70 percent animal-based, consisting of a large variety and diversity of meat, seafood, fish, eggs, beef tallow, duck fats, pork lard and dairy, fermented foods, a bit of low GI low sugar fruits, mushrooms and occasionally some superfoods. No coffee, no cooked simple or complex carbs at all. It works perfectly for me and I look 20 years younger and as fit as a teenaged girl. I am also nicknamed the Yogurt Queen because I adore dairy products such as butter, Creme Fraiche, Italian raw cheeses, goat cheeses and French blue cheeses. Dairy is my comfort food so to speak. I hope I can help you rethink the Carnivore diet to include "Hyper Carnivore" diet regimen, not just strict Carnivore although Dr Anthony Chaffee advocates a strict one. Every human body has its requirements for specific nutrients. There is no one size fits all in my research findings so far because of genetics and also our adaptations from birth to our current state of health.
ever since starting carnivore approximately four weeks ago I have had major edema/swelling in my extremities. Mostly in my lower extremities and ankles. Any advice?
Dr Chaffee, blood pressure high in carnivore is very likely bcz of high salt intake. That’s me! My blood pressure was only 90/60 before carnivore bcz I had very little salt and a lot of water. But I have a lot of salt and a lot of less water after carnivore. My blood pressure is in the 110-130 range. I am going to lower my salt intake a lot.
Did you just say a vitamin d level of 140-180 ng/ml is ideal?!? I've never heard of a level that high! I have heard that levels around 100 are probably ideal, even though mainstream medicine would say that's too high. But 140-180!? Do you have the right units?
Cholecalciferol is the reservoir form used in supplements and generated in the skin. Calcifediol is the active form. Vit D supplement overdose is extremely rare and associated with serum levels above 250nmol/L
Thank Dr. I have 2 month on carnivore, I feel a lot better my broken right shoulder and arm still bothers me, is 10 month and still give me hard time I have 95% use, my hips got better no wait lost yet
Great video, but it made me think about something that I have not seen anyone discuss in any videos I have watched. If we ate little to no carbs for most of our existence, why do we have a pancreas that can release so much insulin to lower blood sugar?
The pancreas and insulin have enabled animals to survive long winters. Gorge on sugar (fruits) to spike blood sugar and store fat on the body for the organism to consume during the time of year when there’s not so much food available.
You talk about flax seed.. Have you heard about the cottage cheese and flax seed oil diet for cancer? Do you think because it has cyanide that it kills bad cells. I haven't read on it but thought about it when you said flaxseed.
I find this topic very fascinating about cyanide able to fight cancer cells. Let me try to do more research on Cyanide. Very interesting for my research work to take on. 👍☺️
According to Dr. Thomas Seyfried, Dr. Warburg ran experiments decades ago that proved the dosing with cyanide killed the animal but the cancer was unaffected. Once the animal died, that I assume killed the cancer.
Thank you Dr. Chaffee! Been carnivore for 2 months after starting to have kidney issues/HBP. Im on 5 mg Amlodipine. I get very tired after lunch and feet cramp various times a day. I assume this is all kidney related but labs are showing high in potassium, calcium and chloride so worried about taking extra supplements. Also have calcifications in shoulders. Trying not to give up but at a loss in what to do now. Doctors in my area seem to brush everything off.
I heard an energy slump on carnivore can be down to high blood sugar caused by excessive protein consumption, that can also put your kidneys out and cause increased salt need to avoid cramps. 1g protein per kg lean mass, 2g fat per kg? What's your sodium like? Maybe check out Dr Berry's interview with the salt fix author Dr James Dinicolantonio. For high blood calcium I'd suggest a mag and boron supplement
Metoclopramide, is one of the worst drugs, the side effect will give an inner anxiety and tremorrr, something you will feel that your body wants to get out of your skin, you will feel like you want to jump around, even jump on the window, and suicide feelings are horrible. I and sooo many people had that, it was one of the worst things, it was hell on earth. Be very careful of it
Hi I am a neurologist from India. Tried your diet and got rid of BP medication. But I always had a doubt about the fibre content. Don't we require fibre in our diet. Kindly answer
There is no need for fiber. All it does is bulk up your stool. Meat gets used by your body quite efficiently. Why would we want to eat food that our bodies are unable to digest?
If course we don’t need fiber. Have you had a patient with an ileostomy go from high to low/no fiber carnivore diet? I have, and the results were fantastic for them. There is no mechanism of digestion to obtain vital nutrition from fiber.
He had that and it was a disaster. You can’t argue carnivore diet on an ideological basis. You can only do it on health basis, which the vegans avoided and always broke into an argument. In my view Dr. Chaffee clearly won the argument. The vegans can go take their ideology and shovel it!😜
True, or maybe he has a really ugly painting in his attic. All joking aside, he may be one of the few that can consume a lot of plants. Then again, in five years Shane Sterling may finally show the results of a plant diet. This has happened to many former vegans and vegetarians. They are fine for years and then their health begins to seriously deteriorate. They go keto or carnivore and are converted to a very different way of eating. Young people can get away with a bad diet for years.

OP, exactly! If you're high energy, you need carbs... Most of these low to zero carbs people aren't expending a lot of energy. Do what works for you. Dr. Saladino had no energy and a lot of other problems after doing strict carnivore for 1.5 years... He said he didn't feel better until he added back fruit and honey to his diet.
@@tripsrus3731 exactly . People saying do this but they don’t have to preform physicaly and think as well it’s a hard thing to do on juts carnivore. I do carnivore at the weekend when I’m not working = easy . When I’m working = no good

You didn't mention macros, so I'll add that you may need a higher % of fat. The brain can work as well or better on ketones rather than glucose. But ketones come from fat. A possible supplemental is getting MCT oil. It's a simple fat that goes directly to the liver for turning into ketones.
I have a teaspoon or two of honey at night. For me, it helps sleep. Still in ketosis. Probably could have higher ketones. But sleep more important to me, and it helps me personally
From my information, regards the first question about retaining semen and does it get reabsorbed into the brain providing it with vital nutrients, its not the physical aspects. Its the esoteric aspects. Refraining from releasing s. which depletes vital energy, and instead 'bring' the base chakra s*xual energy up along the spine to the brain. This increases brain function and abilities. Or bring it up the spine and curve it towards the 3rd eye (the point between and just above the eyebrows) will enhance spiritual energies. You bring it up the spine using will and visualisation and can actually feel this energetic movement (eastern yogic knowledge). This is for those interested, not the nay sayers. We are energy beings not just physical beings.

@@karenreaves3650 Maybe it’s outdated research, but as far as I knew, the body forms Dihomo-y-Linolenic Acid (DGLA) from GLA and this is one of the body's 3 sources of signalling molecules called “Eicosanoids” (along with AA and EPA). DGLA is the precursor of the Prostaglandin “PGH1” & this forms “PGE1” and (the lipid) Thromboxane “TXA1”. Both PGE11 and TXA1 are anti-inflammatory. Evening Primrose was an ancient source and Native Americans used it routinely to treat swellings & inflammatory complaints.
i don't agree 100% that humans are fully carnivores! First our closest relatives the chimpanzees aren't either, and they have a very similar digestive system as we have! I think and this is also fact that the early humans ate fruits! Why is a fruit in general bad for the human body? or why is sugar in general bad for the human body? but to be clear i am not for a carbohydrate based diet! i just think that a human is not a 100 % carnivore!

My heart races and it feels like I have a cotton ball in my throat when I eat any kind of sausage, bologna, and bacon. It doesn't last long. I think it has to do with the fillers. Happened when I used to eat PB too. When I leave those foods alone I have no problems.
When you learn to read labels you will be able to eat sausages and everything else with ease. WHICH SAUSAGE
WHICH EGGS
WHICH MILK
I'm thankful that my hubby reads labels. I never bring my reading glasses shopping and I accidentally bought bacon with erythritol (a sugar alcohol) at the farmers market. I personally think that crap should come with a big black box warning label because it cleans me out, just a little bit and I'm dying in the bathroom. I feel like I have to make all my food from scratch because of all the crap they can put in food without including it on the label - "natural flavors" could mean anything :( and GRAS is also BS.
Always such a great way to keep learning about the benefits of carnivore life style, thank you 🙏
I would love to see you and Dr. Mark Hyman have a talk about eating plants.
I learn SO MUCH from you Dr Chaffee. Thank you so much.
The Doogie Howser reference got me, lol. That had to hard back then when there wasn't enough doctors as it was and you're too young to practice.

Worth trying. I'm going back to carnivore after Ramadan and trying to think of ways to reduce withdrawal symptoms!
Menstrual cramps?
Or muscle cramps?
@@tanyawieczorek6603 muscle cramps, i'm a male, sorry i didnt mention that
Am carnivore but i had to introduce kefir and full fat greek yogurt because the probiotic pills where doing nothing and I keep getting UTI and i cannot get rid of my kalona whipping cream and kalona cottage cheese.

Maybe try...garden of life probiotics, it targets womens issues.

According to professor Ben Bikman, divide triglycerides by HDL. If the number is below or up to 1.2 things are good.
1:30:00 that's what i had, a ton of fat tissue "between" muscles so I looked bigger. When i started carnivore i lost of a ton of size, but my numbers were pretty much the same after.

Low salt can cause headaches and high blood pressure.
Is Beef Jerky OK to consume?
Be sure to check the ingredients.

Any research on effects of ketones with kids 👶👧 and teens to improve learning, memory and IQ?
How'd your surgery go?
Any advice?
He said Blue Balls
I like to put sea salt in my water. And for headaches mit oil.
That's nmols. She posted ngrams/mL, which is the units used in the US. That's why I wondered if he mixed up the units.
Looking for more centenarian on carnivore 🥩 diet
@@Carmen88888 thank you.........that makes perfect sense.
You need to learn more about the pancreas. The exocrine pancreas produces enzymes that help to digest food, particularly protein.
You talk about flax seed.. Have you heard about the cottage cheese and flax seed oil diet for cancer? Do you think because it has cyanide that it kills bad cells. I haven't read on it but thought about it when you said flaxseed.
Cyanide won’t kill cancer, it WILL kill the host though.
Glucose deprivation will starve cancer.
See Professor Seyfried.

I found fasting to be useful to get out of carb addiction. 3 days help me out of the carb slippery slope.
if you are on carnivore and your heart is racing, or you have high Blood Pressure, Could it be you are eating a lot of salt and not enough water???

Hi
I am a neurologist from India.

Dr Anthony Chaffee and Dr Rob Cywes should have a thinky thinky debate with some Vegans. 😂
He had that and it was a disaster. You can’t argue carnivore diet on an ideological basis. You can only do it on health basis, which the vegans avoided and always broke into an argument. In my view Dr. Chaffee clearly won the argument. The vegans can go take their ideology and shovel it!😜
They have but not together I don’t think 🤔. That would be stressful to watch 😅
I would looooove to watch that debate!
Add Dr. Paul Mason and the vegans would be running for the hills! Wouldn't that be beautiful!

Review the sharings of Shane Sterling (raw vegan),… age 51 but looking much younger. Different people, different details.

I’ll be honest I work a physical job (carpentry etc ). I’ve done carnivore for weeks and found myself lacking in the thinking area when I’m at work. When I’m not at work it doesn’t matter.
But I find I function way better with just a little carbs
Weeks isn't quite long enough unfortunately. It can take months to truly adapt. You'll truly feel the benefits if you stick with it.
When I’m working = no good
@@Brodinn I’ve done it for around 2 months a couple of years ago extremely strict. It wasn’t any different. I have to be able to think clearly and preform and believe me I’ve tried my best. I just do pure carnivore at the weekend when I can relax
You didn't mention macros, so I'll add that you may need a higher % of fat. The brain can work as well or better on ketones rather than glucose. But ketones come from fat.
A possible supplemental is getting MCT oil. It's a simple fat that goes directly to the liver for turning into ketones.
Great talk! Your thoughts on raw honey or pork rinds to add variety? Also, will raw honey kick you out of ketosis?
It’s just sugar with a fancy name !!
How could honey raw or any other NOT kick you out of ketosis.
It is pure sugar.
Pork rinds are used in ketogenic recipes.
I have a teaspoon or two of honey at night. For me, it helps sleep. Still in ketosis. Probably could have higher ketones. But sleep more important to me, and it helps me personally
Darko Velcek says you can feed horses meat. Apparently the Mongolians do it!
Are there really studies showing that replacing sat fat with polyunsat fat reduces risk for CVD? That seems counterinuitive.
The opposite is true.
What’s wrong with your left shoulder? Looks half the size of the other one
What labs do you order for yourself?
My nephew apparently gained “muscle „ on a vegan diet. 😂😂
What you mentioned is called edging, semen retention is when you don't even get aroused.
I think it's just about not bashing the bishop every day or looking at online grot. Definitely better for your CNS/dopamine/reward centres. You can't stop being aroused but you can decide what to do about it.. ie nothing....

Surprised about your comments re Omega 6s. I thought the Gamma-linoleic acid (GLA) and Dihomo-GLA forms were anti-inflammatory?
They are harmful.
Why is a fruit in general bad for the human body? or why is sugar in general bad for the human body? but to be clear i am not for a carbohydrate based diet! i just think that a human is not a 100 % carnivore!
plant toxins and carbs are both soo bad
