Stapleton doesn’t do country. He combines bluegrass, rock, folk and country in a most unique way. He’s a national treasure.
Country nowadays is already the blend itself. Country Western is the traditional style.
Almost all country nowadays has bluegrass and rock elements. It's kind of become the melting pot of music in a way.
Also a lot of blues and soul music in there. Especially in his singing.
I can't stand country music, but I heard this here in the UK this morning, and I've bought the album based on this alone

Chris has a blues voice, not country....he can't play jazz or good blues so he does country with a blues voice. Doesn't really mix well IMO.

The last guitar solo he misses a note as well and starts shaking his head and smiling. The humitility is nice to see. It's also proof that he is HUMAN. Even though I don't believe that
I didn't know that was his wife! How cool that they perform together. I'd never listened to his music before and typically dislike contemporary country but was blown away by this performance. Dude's the real deal.
