- Chris Stapleton and Mickey Raphael perform "Nobody to Blame" at Farm Aid 2018 at XFINITY Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut, on September 22.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

People like Mr. Stapleton are a rare find. As a southerner ( SouthEast Tennessee ), I'm used to hearing great music and singers, but I can honestly say he is one of the BEST ever. He's a great song writer and musician as well. He even used to sing with the Steeldeivers, a bluegrass band. We are so blessed to have such great talent here in the South 🙏🏻🇺🇸❤️

Not like the Beatles Stones, Queen etc who initially made music with realunstrunents ,& terrific voices with different ranges. Look how many in those bands play more than one instrument.b Today studio sound effects are used. Music isn't as good as it used to be before computer generation was involved.
Music is music whether it's autotuned or real live bands playing. Things evolve and change of not our musical ears are stagnate. I enjoy this but also enjoy all music. Give all music a chance.

He's the best singer on the planet right now in my opinion. The big sell here though is how versatile he is. He has a bluegrass band called "The Steeldrivers" as well as a rock band called "The Jompson Brothers". Add on his stellar songwriting skills and that over the top, Travis Tritt on steroids voice, and he's definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Chris should have received Entertainer of the Year award. What a disappointment having the award going to Keith Urban. Never should have happened.

Chris is simply a musician and fits in no single category or genre except what we call “porch music”. Seen him back in July and it was better than any recording straight chills the whole night. He is a talented musician.
