- We've featured the PICO APRS on the channel before, and it does all the APRS things you could possibly want. What we haven't looked at before is how good of an HT is it? Is it clean, or is it a SplashMaster3000 (tm)???

So cool.. Like the multi tool of APRS. Crazy that it can even Igate ! I'm looking forward to seeing TO show the Liligo T-TWR so I can get an idea on how they differ.
Exactly - it's not super great at the HT part (spoiler - it sucks), but as far as APRS related functionality, it is excellent.

Hey Taner! First of all, thanks for watching, and secondly, the Pico is freakin awesome! Probably overdriven a bit as I was testing in the house, using an FT5D on low power, so I wasn't completely surprised. Also, what came out on the video audio was most likely just the way the mic picked up the recieved audio. I'll revisit that and let you know. I found mine on ebay, and other than possible rx audio issues, I have no complaints. I didn't buy it to be a tiny HT, I bought it for the APRS functionality, so in the end - very satisfied!
I will try and hit a local repeater and see if that makes a difference.
@@FEPLabsRadio Hi, maybe your speaker is broken! Can you please contact Wimo support and DXE to see if they can send you a new speaker? DXE should already have some replacement speakers from Wimo.
If you have any problems with this, please let me know! I will help you get a new speaker (free of charge).
I'm glad it is clean but the transmit audio was not great. As is, I'd only get one for the APRS functionality. If you hear anything on the receive audio it would be a bonus.
Oh yeah - the Pico is a terrible HT. Excellent for APRS, not so good for actual talking.

In my world, IP68 is the minimum for HTs. Any future forecasts? Thanks, KF0NNQ.
Hey Bill, I'd be thrilled if all the big 3 radio makers would use USB-C charging. As far as IP68, you're guess is as good as mine. Probably the only ones I can think of are the high-end Motorola HT's designed for public safety use.
