Another tip to be the coolest bmx'er at the park is make sure to snake everyone and ride sporadically so no one knows where you're going. Oh, and make sure to use a freecoaster for maximum stealth and efficiency.

Just another small tip that might work against moving grip: before putting them on your bike, spray the inside of them with hairspray. Makes them slide easily on, but after the haispray is dry the grips are (as good as) glued stuck. Hope you guys can use this. :)
There is a product that odi make called grip glue and I think it’s only $4
Unlike grip glue, if you ever need to take the grip off or replace it you won’t need to clean to glue off, hairspray 100%!
@@jerryshea4906 Came down to the comments to leave this tip. All that leftover hairspray...? Draw on your skateboard's griptape with chalk then seal it with... hairspray.

FYI the real life hack for throttle grip -
Get a gap between the grip and bar and Spray wd40 or something similar in to them and spin them to get them off easy.
Clean the bar and inside of grip with soapy water and let it dry.
Spray some hairspray on the inside of the grip, then slide it over the bars to its normal position.
Leave overnight and the hairspray will dry and secure the grip in place.
And never take off your grips again 😂😂
@@mattdavies55 nah just same technique with wd40, and a slide a thin screwdriver in if you can to get the wd40 all the way down the grip.
Spaghetti Legs or use bug spray! It works in 10 secs just keep twisting the grips til it grips and stays! It works so well!
dont use wd40. use rubbing alcohol. once you clean the bar with the rubbing alcohol slide the grip back on .. no glue !

Be careful with that peg technique I snapped my axle doing that xD

Adam, since watching your videos I've wanted to get into BMX. I know I could go watch some other how-to, but I just like your "teaching"/explaining style. it'd be really cool if you could do a how to on riding, and then maybe do a beginning, intermediate and advanced series. plus I bet it'd get a shit ton of views lol.
Noticed nobody responded, what you want to do is get a cheap BMX off of eBay or FB marketplace and just ride it as much as possible, you'll eventually get used to a bike style, when your comfortable riding just try bunny hops as that is the key to all tricks 👍

How long a video do you want? Those are 3 very different topics that cannot be simply glanced over with any expectation of gaining any real knowledge... As for buying cars, rule no 1, never stop looking, if you've ever got a free moment, use that time to search a new forum, newspaper, classifieds etc... Getting a car like nicole's new 240 in that condition, with those parts, for that price is simply being in the right place at the right time... If you are constantly looking then it only becomes a matter of time...

I have never tried it but it sounds like it wont work. My local bike shop said to spray hairspray in it to flush everything out and then the fast drying solvent should evaporate soon to leave it dry. Well the rubber pressed against the bars and trapped the liquid and caused the grip to throttle like iv never seen b4.

We always used hairspray for the grips. They slide on easy and are “glued” on when the hairspray dries. Put a nickel in each grip before you slide them on to prevent the bars from poking through the grips when you lay the bike down.

True, but normal grips provide more cushion because the whole grip is rubber but lock ons have a peice or hard plastic in the middle

I was taught by a guy in a bike shop, when applying new grips to dip them in VERY sugary tea, then put them on. When dry, there's no movement. Always worked for me. Nice video.

Go to your bike shop and get some cheap little $2-300 complete. It really doesn't matter what you get as long as the size is right. As you get better with riding you'll develop personal tastes for parts and replace parts as they break.
if you're tight on money get a Kink, very affordable

The tightening the chain, I find it easiest to wedge something between the tire and frame. I used a flash light to wedge in between while I tightened. Then you just remove the wedge and you're good!

I was trying to look to convert my sons bike to a free will and I seen this wasn’t what I was looking for so I rolled back the grips and boom! Tight as ever! So awesome!
5:04 in my opinion it's a good idea, but my advice for if you don't have pegs is get a wrench, loosen the bolts on the rear tire, slide it back, and re-tighten the bolts. I do it usually when my chain pops off the gear, and it works pretty well.
On the first one, I just push my feet on the front pegs and pull back on the bars.

If your handlebars move a quick fix is put your foot on the gooseneck & pull as hard as you can on the handlebars also throttle grip if its bad roll it back use hairspary loose chain use the rubber handle of a hammer between the middle of the tyre & the frame a little bit of pressure tight chain wat this lad said is a good one to use too

An old-school method of putting new grips on is to spray a bit of hairspray on your bars, then slide the grips on. When wet, it lubricates. When dry, it's like glue.
one thing we used to do back in the day with grips, fold them back and spray a bit of hairspray on the bars, when you put the grip its basically stuck so no more throttle grip.

Scott Polston another cool "coin mod" is to put nickels under the ends of your grips before sliding them on. This prevents the bars from poking through like a cookie cutter, and eliminates the need for bar end plugs.
