I'm very sorry for your loss - She was beautiful! And you gave her a good life. I feel your pain, believe me. You will see her again. -- Debbie from New Jersey, USA
It is kind of you to share this information in order to save others. I am sorry to learn of your loss. I hope you can find joy in your memories of Molly to ease your pain.
Senior Cats make the best snuggle buddies, We lost Buster My Siamese cross back in 2018 at 17 years old. Got him as a 6 week old kitten and in his later years he absolutely loved his cuddles in bed and on the lounge. He had the biggest loudest purr on him as well.
I am so sorry for your loss. I feel your heartbreak. We lost four in one year, and it really is heartbreaking. Know that we are with you in spirit and your entire family. Al
I am sitting here teary-eyed watching this. I am so sorry for your loss of Miss Molly. She was a beautiful cat, and expert "biscuit maker," and it looks like she showed the dog who was boss. I live in the state of Florida in the US, and have never heard of this paralysis tick, but I always made sure my last cat, my beloved Abby, had her flea & tick meds every month, as she was an outside cat. She ended up paralyzed too, in July 2021, but not from a bug bite. She got a blood clot in her lower back, a saddleback thrombosis, that cut off the blood supply to her back legs. The vets could not help her either, even with 24 hours of care, so I had her euthanized, as that sort of thing is not survivable, and I did not want her to suffer. I was with her at the end, and I cried like a baby. Abby is now buried in my backyard. So I, and many other people, understand the pain and heartache you are going through. This video was a wonderful tribute to Miss Molly. I made one for my Abby too. It was the least I could do for what she meant to me. Again, my condolences for your loss. 😢😿
❤ Thank You, It sure is hard to lose them. Especially when they go missing for 24+ hours, Get rushed to the vets and unfortunately pass away after showing signs of improvement after fighting for 3 days.
❤ Thank You, Any one who’s had pets know how much they mean to you. I haven’t got any human kids and can’t have any even being in my mid 30’s, So I’ve got my fur babies and the best ones are always the rescues or those often overlooked for one reason or another. It just feels weird at the moment not having her constantly under foot, Snuggled up on the desk while I’m on the computer or following me into the shower literally she’d follow me in with the shower running.
@TheAussieBusman so, sorry this happened, we lost four in one year and Precious Pumpkin one of our cats, would groom me daily. I miss her every day. Stay strong my friend.
Can you please explain to me how your cat could die from the bite of this kind of tick when it’s treatable if caught early enough, are there no vets in your area that you could of taken your her to, I read up on this form of tick and it is treatable if caught in time
She had been missing for nearly 36 hours, It was by chance she was found in the neighbours yard under a shrub. From the time I found her to the time We were at the Vets with the emergency consultation and first meds being administered was literally less then 15 minutes. Once the tick has been removed and the antiserum administered, It can still take 8+ hours for the toxins to wear off and to show signs of improvement. She was at the vet’s Thursday, Showing signs of improvement on the Friday. The vets wanted to keep her in for another night on oxygen therapy as her breathing was still slightly laboured, They gave her another dose of medication and sedative on Friday night to ensure she was comfortable for the night. When they went in on the Saturday morning they found she had passed during the night. As Paralysis tick toxins can affect the respiratory and cardiovascular system, Since she had always been a bit snuffly her whole life the Vets were saying it was probably the stress combined with her age that got to her more then the actual tick. There had also been a number of other pets in the area who have also had complications or passed due to paralysis ticks over the past couple of months in the local area. The vets said there had been 10 Pets lost in the past 4 - 6 weeks, With another couple of pete mainly dogs and cats who presented in a bad way.
Found her dehydrated, She spent 3 days at the Vet’s on medication and IV with oxygen therapy to give her the best chance. She was showing signs of improvement on the Friday night and was sedated for the night around 6pm, When the vets came in the following morning around 7am they found she had passed during the night. Gave her the best chance I could and have a hefty vet bill to show for it, The emergency consultation was $900 on its own. The Oxygen therapy was $600 a day, The medications were just a tickle over $1100. Unfortunately with Paralysis ticks they do just that their toxins paralyse their host and can affect the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. Paralysis ticks have been known to knock down a 300+Kg horse so amplify that for a little 4.8kg cat. We gave her the best chance possible, But unfortunately it was her time to cross the rainbow bridge.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby. They are much more than pets they are our children. Just know she will be waiting for you.❤
Thank You, She was definitely more than a pet. She was Family and some days was the only reason I got up and out of bed.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your little girl.
I'm so sorry you lost Miss Molly. She had a life filled with love - which is what all of us, human or feline or whatever, really want.
Just a darling, loving, sweet baby. Xo
❤ Thank You and she was definitely a sweet little darling with occasional bouts of “Tortietude”.
Thank you for caring for Miss Molly.
She was my earthly angel, She’s now my heavenly angel. Mum often asked “Did you rescue Molly Or did Molly rescue You”, I think it was a bit of both.
It is kind of you to share this information in order to save others. I am sorry to learn of your loss. I hope you can find joy in your memories of Molly to ease your pain.

Lovely cat. Older cats make us feel so calm.

Miss Molly was beautiful.
That she was, Not sure what breed she was. But I think she may have had a bit of Abyssinian in her, Just based on her face.
