No worries at all niccolo. I'm glad you found it helpful and I appreciate you watching. We have a few from Florida way who watch. I will be doing more video once the British weather improves the fields are water logged and muddy
No been able to get in the fields because they are like bogs I will. Definitely make some more videos. Had lots of practice shore fishing. I'm still doing off the ground not done pendulum yet hopefully I will. Get it this year
Hi Dave. Great video mate and really well presented buddy. I'm learning to cast myself so it's interesting watching someone else. Love the reel cam set up will look at getting that set up for mine. Take care buddy and tight lines 👍
Thank you earl. Been dying to get out holding my rod 🙄🙄🤦 🤣 but seriously I have been dying to get out and finally I'm back hopefully I can keep it up now and possibly do UA-cam part time we will see
Cracking video Dave, interesting to watch you progress, you take a lot of time explaining things in your video and that will help so many people. Sadly I can’t cast a multi so stick to fixed spools, see you on the next one 👍👍
Thanks Aston. Well I hope I learn 🤣🤣 most probably laffing but that's ok we all have to start somewhere hopefully this series will help me and others get better with people picking my casts and technique apart but in turn it will help me improve and hopefully anyone watch will also improve
A first started using a multiplier in 1987 , and was using a white Mitchell 535 both me and my cousin in Ower school field we had no one to teach us but the articles in the sea angler , you got no idea the amount of bird's nests we had , and of course the lead sinking in to the field and kids been kids riving n pulling and a lump of lead flying back at us lol bloody lethal , but 35 years later am still using a multi a can't get away with a fixed spool feel so unnatural when winding in ..... its Just practice practice practice mate feet at 12 n 3 don't be afraid to wind them mags off , everything else you seem to be doing spot on , once you get the hang of using a multi you will never use anything else , and by the look of your casting you are doing bloody brilliant mate . Looking forward to seeing your progress buddy 👍
That's crazy Liam I wasn't born till 88 😂😂. Thank you for the advice Liam I'm out again today I think it's gone good I'm now at 162 yards. The distance isn't important to me at the moment but I know it's going further. Just need to learn to load the road and do the same cast every time so it feels natural and I dont think about it and do it naturally if that makes sense. Thank you again Liam video 2 should be out Friday at 18:00
@@C3BFA haha aye am a 1975 vintage , it's just practice and muscle memory your doing brilliant mate , am enjoying watching your progress, keep at it , your already there though , distance comes with practice and your muscle memory "IE " technique as the experts say .
Great start to using a multiplier Dave i use a strip of rubber taped to the rod long enough to just go over the reel gives better grip saves the thumb also keep your feet slightly apart your left foot pointing at 12 o'clock your right foot at 3 o'clock apart from that you look OK to me mate just practice practice you have done better than me when I started 😀 👍
Thanks Stephen. I have seen and been told about using a thumbie or similar. I prefer not to buy if my spool starts to slip under pressure i will definitely add one. I will try the stance your saying and see how it goes thanks for your advice I appreciate it
Thanks Langer's I have had to cancel going today something came up 😭😭 I'm gutted but always next time I may go out again later and have a practice in the field again
hi bud great vid as always only advice i could give is a thumbie and watch video back your collapsing your right arm apart from that great keep it going
Thank you for the advice I really appreciate it. I didn't notice my arm I will have a look at that well spotted. I.e thumbie I hate using thumbies and finger stalls etc so I was going to keep casting as it was if I started to get slip I will get some innertube or similar but thanks for pointing it out
Quality mate good start 👍 there will always be plenty to work on but you’ll get there 💪 that reel is definitely holding you back running far too slow can hear it slowing down and i think i could hear your thumb on it every now and again being conservative to not birdie 🙈 well done though now the fun starts 😜
I really do appreciate all your help so far it's made a big difference I have just done 162yards that is paced so not accurate but it's getting better I'm not to worried about distance yet but it's nice to know it's going further
Get a meter wheel. Practice with a 4” bait like a rubber lure. Never touch the spool. Practice with the lead weight you normally use. Practice casting into the sea as a tad of line lube is way tamer. Use line markers to know improvement instantly. When your Dialled do it at night, no lamp. Great video and presentation. 0.35 for The Field. The Pole you are using needs a Progressive action so start at 1 and finish at 10 you will see….. 👍
Thanks Paul I appreciate the advice. I really need to get back out I can otg cast now like it's over head thumb I don't have no issues at all. Need to get it on video again and need to learn the pendulum or similar
Thanks Gary. I can't remember what it was called now it was on my old phone I forgot about till you just asked. Most apps are fairly accurate these days. Yes will. Definitely be doing it again. Actually had lots of practice while fishing I'm very comfortable now doing off the ground just need to get it airial now. I need to pendulum
Definatly get yourself a rubber grip for casting, a cricket bat grip tapped to the rod will do the trick. can give it a more aggressive whack then without burning your thumb
@@C3BFA No problem mate, ive also seen the SAA casting video and i swear by the layback cast the guy shows much easier to get the hang of that a full pendulum
Thanks for the vid. watching from florida USA. going through the same process. your vid helped alot.

Enjoyed the video, never casted with a multi myself so well done with explaining things.
Thanks bear I'm slowly learning
I was learning along with you and your right I want to keep casting as well

You are doing great Dave keep it up
Thank you Lee
tidy video Dave, ive just bought the same pair of reels
I love um and I'm guessing you will too

Thank Shane wasn't sure about reel cam I think it needs some adjustments but I will play about and see what I can do.
Next goal now is 150yards lol 🤞🤞
Great to see you out practising mate and making videos. Cant wait to see your progression.

Quality vid ,Quality audio and getting to 4 click’s on 1st try is good going!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Thank you it's down to you it's gone further. Once I have the form I will then worry about distance and 200 next 😂😂😂
@@C3BFA its all you mate your the one putting the hours and effort little tips here and there and your getting the numbers already 💪
I would still be stuck at 120ish if it wasn't for you lol. So thank you I will definitely keep at it and make videos to see where I'm going wrong
Spot on bud great watch 👊👍
Thanks Shane. Hopefully I will get better and better
@@C3BFA I use both multiplier and fixed spool I still get birdys all part of it lol
I'm trying to swap over to multipliers I prefer the look and feel lol

I agree Shane

Great video series Dave. What App did you use for accurately measuring distances? Will you be doing further videos on your casting? 👍
Thanks Gary. I can't remember what it was called now it was on my old phone I forgot about till you just asked.

That's the cast in aiming for. For my fishing. But need to get the turn part of the cast dialled in before I attempt any swinging casts lol
If you want some help come in to Aberystwyth and I can point some directions to you
Thanks Kevin i appreciate that. If your on social media send me a message please
Have a look at Billyfishing , he has a casting tutorial on his channel.
He make casting look effortless.
Thanks Paul I will have a look I do think I have seen it
I have seen his channel I subbed to him when he was fishing Norway I have seen the casting ones
OK Dave just though it was worth having a look at if you hadn't seen it.
Ye he is a good bloke
