I’m building a desktop and I finally finally found a video card to finish my build. I can’t wait to get back into this game. Anno is an awesome stress release
last summer my uncle came over and watched me play Anno for a few days that he was here. As he saw me struggling, he told me to kill the opponent early before they get an upper hand. Told me it's always like this in real life too. Been doing it in a lot of games ever since! He says he never played video games, but I'm not too sure about that :D
Really interesting start to a game! I usually play on easier AI difficulties so this is pretty interesting to see how more competitive playthroughs go.
takarazuka: "i disable crown falls and mods because it's cheesy and makes the game too easy" also takarazuka *uses map layout and war fleet start to immediately eliminate an AI and secure two large islands xD
You could just as easily take out the AI without the warfleet. Now the AI starts with a little fleet as well and gives them an upper hand at the same time. And I don't think you can compare starting the game with two extra gunships to being able to build on a landmass that is roughly 8 times larger than anything currently available to me in the old world with the small islands lol
@@TakaUA-cam not 'just as easily' since you know exactly where to go, and the AI splits up their fleet - i mean that's the whole point of starting with a war fleet and not just your flagship. and while i agree that extra island isn't even remotely as powerful as crown falls, it still snowballs massively to start with an extra "free" one and makes the game significantly easier. all that said, it wasn't my intention to suggest this is not a challenge anymore, all i'm saying is that it's quite cheesy and lowers the difficulty quite a bit. i did not mean to offend you by it, i just thought it was a funny little observation. sorry.
@@truegrit1860 From the little i´ve seen, I believe Taka has the ability to play without the fleet, but if you are starting without one, the trick to beat the AI is to get to the New World before them or at least at the same time. Once you get Ship of the line going, they are not a threat anymore.
I was making a tutorial series for Expert Diff with no DLC about 2 months ago as there was a shortage of videos addressing it. Got to vid 4 before I got some IRL problems but I gotta make the time to finish it. It´s interesting to see a War Fleet start, but for those who start with a harbour, make sure to get a seed with Archi near you, it makes it easier for new players to tackle Expert. Cheers for the vid!
@Takarazuka...hey man!I have a saved game but wanna start over with different opponents..how to check which map seed i used as i forgot but i really like the settings!Regards!
@@TakaUA-cam haha I'm also blind, I was speaking to myself like dude go find Eli in the fog you need to sell that soap and roll for the actor. By the way the fact that you can't roll for the actor before the artisan makes this only pepper Island the most valuable of them all, cause if you didn't had it, since you can't get the actor (unless you are insanly lucky in a quest) you'd be force to import pepper with the new harbor or buy it from the IA who get the Island since archibald doesn't sell pepper, which would massively slow your progression, this is insane
Isn't getting sinked some pirate ships for additional items that may cost for around 5-10k more worth it than signing non aggression with them for 20k?
Nope... You're looking at short-term. Sure I might get an item that could sell for a few thousand, or they might just drop sails that sell for nothing. Whereas investing in ceasefires and getting a trade agreement will let me sell beer to them... A few dedicated brewery chains doesn't cost much and they pay almost 1,100 coins per ton of beer. 20 tons and I've already made back one of my ceasefires. After a few trades with them of beer, rum, and schnapps I've made back my investment and then I can start making even more money. Plus the chance at getting an extravaganza steamer before I have the specialist.
This answer might be out there somewhere and I just have not found it, but does anyone know how is demand calculated in this game? When they say they need 2, 3, or 4 per minute? I am sure it is directly related to the amount of population you have, but how many people equal one unit per minute? How do they figure that out?
There's not one basic calculation for everything... All consumer good resources are consumed at varying rates. That is then further modified by a myriad of factors in the game.
You get very lucky, I don't get it, I never get started with a bunch of photo quests. Plus, I've had like 3 broken quests in a row on my difficult start, where I didn't get paid or get items. I'm hoping that's been fixed, I have not been back to that save since high life, but on low income and high difficulty, it really hurts to spend resources and not get paid for quests. Looking good on this, right now you are smokin the AI.
I cannot fathom why so few players in games like these ever experience multiplayer. They'd sooner quit the game altogether before playing online with actual challenge. It blows me away. Literally only 1.5% of players who own this game even launched into a single game with 3 other human beings.
lol how is starting with a war fleet and immediately taking out a defenseless AI not "cheaty" or "cheap"? that was very cringe honestly. Plus playing an already practiced seed just makes it worse, i really don't see the point in using expert settings if you're just going to game the system in your favor.
Go watch any expert playthrough and see all the tactics used... Mine is one of the more legit ones. People killing off all AI by artisan, using dozens of mods, rushing Crown Falls to name a few things people do that reduce the actual difficulty. Also once you know how seeds work it's always the same... I didn't practice. I just knew what to expect.
How is a 1v1 "extreme"? You rushed the other war fleet knowing it was an easy win and knocked Alonso out. Would have enjoyed you using Crown Falls and doing a real game against multiple AI opponents.
There are still two other three-star AIs and Margaret being the most difficult of them all. Starting with a warfleet actually is a negative because now the AI also has warships that they could use against me early on plus that cost maintenance. And how does Crown Falls make it more interesting? Crown Falls gives you a massive building area that negates the entire purpose of having small maps and small islands which is supposed to be what the challenge is. There's more to an extreme expert game than military conflict...
I tried beauty building....its too difficult! I am a mix between beauty and efficiency...or something, its just very difficult doing a "beauty" build. Lets see how you play this. PS: Please do not make like others...and remove the AI...it defeats the object of "difficult". I know the AI cheats....but with no AI...where is the difficult then?
Just made a post haha... Episode 2 had some major audio issues that didn't show up until after I had recorded and rendered everything. I have to go back and redo it all later today.
Even the first steps are unlogical :/ Best way is to cheese 🧀 the wood 🪵 production with sawmills 3 lines away from it next to a warehouse lvl 1 and never upgrade it with 4 sawmills in a square

There is 7 episodes in this series. He drops the game without comment, right in the middle of the game. Just so new viewers will know what to expect.
Yeah I explained later that I got bored.. it's not challenging for me and it's just tedious. There's no fun in that.
Thanks
@@TakaUA-cam glad I found out before starting
Thanks a mill won't bother with it
Thanks for letting me know won't be starting it then

Exactly what I love to watch right now! Thank you very much for bringing it to the channel! :)
I'm only interested in the Beauty Build series...but I will watch and like this for you dude!💪
Really interesting start to a game! I usually play on easier AI difficulties so this is pretty interesting to see how more competitive playthroughs go.
There is no competition at all with war fleet. Only starting with a single harbor is the way.
I did remind you of your Baker as you were putting your flour mill down, you just didn't hear me!😁
Great video!
finally it time...support

Broken right now and no one can build. Import through docklands, buy from Isabel, or use specialists.
how do you not get tired of playing this?
I do often actually haha... I go between multiple games to keep myself from getting too burned out.
