@@SjaduK Ah!! I bought the game at launch, great game, but there was a lot of be desires like statistic pages and trade routes management. I am glad the quality of life had improved. I started to play again and it had been a wonderful experience.
The answer to the multiple "why would you do that": he's a new player and he's overwhelmed. For an experienced player, it is easier to identify the problems at a glance, as if they were jumping in his face. For new players like me, there's just so much stuff going on that sometimes you forgot you already had trade routes organized, or that you stopped producing something, and it gets overwhelming and confusing. That's all!
Normally that is the correct answer and one that I am always cognizant of with new players... In this particular case though, it was not a new player. This was actually the 6th save game I had gotten from them to try to fix. In my own defense though, I probably should have approached this entire concept a lot better.
@@TakaUA-cam Oh god, what a quick answer! Ahhh ok, I lacked context or I wasn't paying attention if you mentioned it. My reaction was because I'm new myself (reaaaal new, haven't really made concrete yet) and I was kind of taken aback by what sounded like unforgiving reproach about things that are super confusing to me. I had the idea that you can make a video in which you fix a save game. But not from the logistic view instead from a beauty building view. Where you decorate an ugly city but keep the general structure.
Hey all, just a small trick for early game for those interested i just tested it out and it works, reguarding museaum, zoo, botanical buildings. Specifically the Music Pavillion. Everyone wants to get the Legendary / Rare music sheets but struggle to get them due to needed alot of worlds fair turns to eventually get them if lucky enough. A sure fire way to get at least 1 Music Sheet of your main choice you really want to start with and have. here is how to get it. Before you place the MUSIC PAVILLION building down, SAVE YOUR GAME !!!. if you have assistance guided help turned on at the start of your game, the additional quests will show up for this. one particular quest that is guaranteed to show up, is for the music pavillion. As soon as you place you 1st music pavillion, a quest NPC right near by/ next to it will show up on your game. When you select this for quest activation. you will be given 1 Random Free music sheet to start with. The key here is its RNG, so make sure save game right before placing the music pavillion building to build it, its ok to leave it in blueprint mode wont activate that quest yet. once you do build it. the quest for 1 free blueprint is given. after you select the quest get free blue print. if it sucks and its not one you really want aka anno 1800 which is easy to buy all day long on many ai npcs. reload you save game and try again. do this until you get the freebie music sheet you do want to keep. reload / repeat save game until the RNG get the music sheet you do want to keep to start your game with. I usually roll till i get the legenday 2070, since its hardest to get anyways. but pick the on you do want. then press on as normal with you game. yes it can take some reload tries RNG, but it does work, ive always gotten the lenday music sheet, if i reload save enough times till it shows up. usually 10 tries or less, i few times ive reloaded past 30 times to get it real bad day lol, mostly not to horrible get it not that many times to save reload.
39:16 wool is being under produced but that is an intermediate product. Work cloths is the final product. Attending to wool would only make sense if you wanted to trade it because as it stands, you would, or soon would have zero stored wool but your peeps wouldn't be walking around naked😀
I completely forgot that was even in the video lol... I've been wanting to rant about that for like a year now since I keep hearing min max players use that word completely incorrectly acting as if it's some sort of important game mechanic.
@@Biditchoun basically buying from someone at a certain price to sell to another at a higher price, basically making money from a trade route that doesn't involve crafting.
Somehow, I overlooked that you can add tankers to a route. I want to be certain, though: is the idea to put all of your tankers onto a single route that goes to all of the islands that produce/consume oil?
My first save went completely wrong due to being in an alliance. Bente offered me the alliance whilst I had NO idea I could get dragged into wars. ALL of my trade routes went directly passed the pirate island. Anne already had the Ship Of The Line so within literally 10 minutes, all my routes were destroyed, along with my escorts. Lost a ton of money trying to make more ships, just to get destroyed again. Repeated the 3rd time; still lost. At this point I was -$20,000 and I gave up. CRAZY frustrating this game can be, but man I'm so addicted.
I've been in an alliance with Bente since the start of my campaign, she hasnt declared war on either Hugo or Margaret. I only broke my alliance with her when I needed some of her islands for my own and after I almost completely wiped her off the map I made her an ally again. I also allied both pirates. Maybe having an ally like Bente and co is a bit of a deterrent for other AI to attack you? Or do they simply dont care? I tried allying Hugo but he drags you into war with Marge, figured im having a relatively simple playthrough if Hugo and Marge are constantly at eachothers throats.
Bente won't really ever declare war and no one really ever declares on her. She's the easiest AI in the game. There is no such thing as a "deterrent" programmed into the AI. They don't care whether you're in an alliance or not.
Hey Taka, do you have any videos showing how to place and use space in the harbor/dock area efficiently? I seem to have a hard time with that and there is a lot of space in the water not used and all the beach is used, but can't seem to figure out how to use the additional space since fishing and such blocks me from building. Anyway, if you have made a video on this subject, please link it for me. Oh, and google seems to be useless on this subject.
I know this video is old but i want your opinion im playing costom in advanced but is been months i can.t advace in the game because i can.t find the perfect seed with right fertilitys like next to ditch water i want an island with hops red peper and fur or evem grains hops red peper bit anyway what i want to ask is should i change to plenty fertily ? Or middle fertily if i do change will the al players also look for other islands ? If they don.t have hops ?
I'm struggling to balance farmers and workers with $250 and just been overwhelmed with a new selection of goods I can produce.. I have 1 boat that delivers 10 wood to the AI now and then. I can't even imagine reaching this point of complexity and scale, does it get any easier to manage and stay on top of so many things or am I just not cut out for mid-end game Anno?!
I'm on PS5 where we only have the base game so none of the PC guides help me particularly because I can't flip pocket watches or do other things that require DLC's. I have just restarted the game several times until I figured a lot of it out on my own.
The downside of not using medium AIs is that the easy AIs don't expand on their own. They always ask nicely whenever they want to settle somewhere. And that's pretty boring. Would have preferred if they just didn't explore regions on their own and had a reduced expansion timer.
That's really player choice... a lot of players don't care for competition and are only looking to play alone or with an AI they can "control" and just enjoy building. Not everyone wants to play the game with other factions you have to compete against.
I don't think I've built a canned food chain for anything but export since I discovered the Actor. Of course that means my Artisans and up are clustered around town halls, which Taka would probably cringe at :D
stupid question: u said dont use the medium ai in your first game.. i have already played 100hours in 'normal' allmost completely bought out beryl in the old world. (2 islands left). Would you still recommend starting over?
If you're comfortable playing against her then go for it. That's just general advice most veteran players give new players but if you're doing fine then keep going.
It's a bad idea overall... alliances do literally nothing for you but set you up for ruining your hard earned reputation gains. If an ally declares war on someone you area allied with, you are given the choice to join one side or the other which drops your rep to 0 for whichever side you go to war with. If you choose to side with neither, it breaks your alliance costing you a LOT of rep for both sides and could lead to a spiral of war with everyone. Never. Ever. Do alliances.
Looking at you doing math and shit made me so insecure about what I am doing with my playthrough. Even though I am very anal about everything, it might backfire. My worst nightmare is ending up with a spaghetti production chain.
