This video made my anno experiance so much easier and better. Really really recommend it to anyone who has problems with placement. Gotta hand it to you taka, you are doing an amazing job with your channel. Keep it up.
This guide shows you're a kind person. If I were to make a guide, I would Immediately adjust their working condition and abuse any extra happiness that they have to boost production.
Loving these guides! I wish I had them when I was first starting out, can’t wait to see your explanation for engineers, that’s where my game always goes bad
Just got Anno 1800 for Christmas (but I'm travelling and won't have access to my PC for a few days), so I'm gonna watch through your guides before I start playing! Your videos makes me so excited to play once I get home :)
I honestly was so excited to fire up this game thinking it would be like any other builder game, but then quickly realized it's a bit more intricate. These videos have saved me....I have a way more productive and bustling set of islands now - keep up the GREAT work!!!
I just wanna thank taka because I struggled very much with this game. Couldn’t figure out what I was going wrong now ihave a steady income still early in the game and your videos are literally help me out it’s only just come to consoles so this is why you got this message two years later
Fantastic fantastic guides! I've come back to Anno 1800 after months of stop and I really need some "refresh" sessions. Thank you for your incredible work!
Really appreciate these videos. Thank you for putting these together. Also; your voice sounds great. Very soothing. I look forward to you narrating a sea battle
These guides are so helpful. I saw so many videos about anno 1800. I spend almost 165 hours into this game since i bought it a week ago. And never made it to the partisans.😅😢😢😢
I don't know if you read older comments. But this game is driving me crazy lol. I always crash and burn into debt and I get overwhelmed really easily. I've watched your series and I'm watching it again. But when it comes to the economic screen.... determining supply vs demand.....how to I determine if enough is being produced vs consumed when both factors are on different islands? Because I think that's what gets me the most.... especially rum. I get plagued by rum shortages, then I over produce in the new world. And now I'm spending more than I need..... it's just a viscous cycle. I can never seam to produce "just enough"....well except for bricks that's easy to understand.
This is what I needed. The campaign is not teaching me a lot of the things I want to know. I was getting anxious about still not understanding the income generation. I was also concerned about wasting money cause I'm still negative.
Thanks I always enjoy ur videos recently I have been busy with life .. But soon I'll save enough to buy a PC powerful enough to run this game ..and use this knowledge .. Thanks .
great video, two questions, how do I know what my island is good for, I know when I see other unclaimed islands at the top it says what fertilities are good on that island, where is that information for my island, second on occasion I have had a mass exodus of people off my island lol and end up just starting over actually 5 times now. Ilove this game the details the thought that goes into making it work is great. I will be watching the rest of your videos as well thanks
just one point you said there is no downside to have unemployed extra workers there is a downside the more population you have the more goodies consumption your people will have so be careful having extra people unless you are ready to meet their needs
That's a natural part of progression and gameplay, and you'll always have extra workforce on your islands. It's pointless to try and balance for 0 workforce and perfect production vs consumption. There's no need for it.
Am I right to think you don’t need to have farmer houses near to the farms; similarly when you get workers they don’t need to live near their workplaces? You can essentially create residential zones away from farm lands? I’m finding the whole thing messy as my town has swamped my farms, and really hard to tell where each farm type is. There needs to be a button that allows you to see all one type of building you’ve laid, highlighted.
nice video! , I cant wait for the tourist, scholars, engineers, investors guides. maybe you can do some for the new world and enbessa?! thanks for the guides taka
I'll be covering all of the seven basic tiers of the game in the old world and new world and all of their mechanics and everything you need to know. I have a lot of guides on DLC content but I will be redoing some of them for more comprehensive coverage after I get down with the base game stuff.
hi love the game your vidio s helped me a lot i got the game on ps 5 could you tell me if all the dlc are included if no where can i find them. thank you
Console versions of Anno 1800 are base game only. No DLC are available for it and, as of right now, there are no plans to release the PC DLC content. It's really a test and trial for the game on console.
The one concept I'm still struggling with is whether or not to make each island completely independent and produce all of its basic needs, or have some islands specialize and ship those produced goods to the islands specializing in other goods.
I've done everything in this video but the homes I build go right into 'blueprint' mode, which I can't change, and I can't produce anymore lumber. I can't get it out of 'blueprint' mode. Completely stuck.
In regards to the lumber efficiency does it matter if it shows a tree icon when planting it? Sometimes just shows a % but then other times shows a % and #trees
13:08 console is frustrating, as I can see the list on the right, but unable to scroll down it. This game is definitely set up for PC. The port over to console isn’t smooth.
any tips on pirates AI active in game. I do know how to gain thier rep up to 100. My problem is in a long game after getting them all happy and partnered up. The rep gains decay over time and im constantly having to do more of their special quests and its quite often, anyone have a way i can just ingor those like the other ai anyway to stablize it, my play thru's to much hassle baby sitting the rep screen 1000s of times to insure the decay doesnt war me if im not lookin at it all the time. Even some trade ships near thier ports auto activate the pop up missions. Cant dismiss / decline them or its rep loss. If your AFK and to many happen left game running while i went to get lunch, came back war was on and all my trade ships sunk because i did not accept them in the 15 second ai pop up timer. Requalar AI has no reputation or game effects so can ingor /dismiss them with no penalties, but the pirates = rep loss if you dismiss / ignor them. aka get war on if not micro managing those events constantly. I suppose play with pirates off because of this, is only choice, i kinda wanted to get the pirate ships and trade stuffs in a play thru. But the micro management over long play baby sitting the rep screen so they dont war with you is rediculously stupid in its current state.
Set up a trade route to buy goods from them such as cannons or gold bars and sell them.. cannons to Isabel and gold bars to Nate in Cape Trelawney. Buying goods for them helps boost relations.. You can also just do quests for them and give them gold like you would any other AI.. treat them like any other AI on the map and do things for them and you'll keep reputation high.
1 more important thing i have started to use the production screen for that to be fair isent a thing u should worry about this early in the game is how each production chain is effecting you income balance. U can very easy se this on the right of each production goods in the production screen. Just as an example Canned goods is unlocked the moment u get your first Artisan (tier 3) and that chain is fairly expensive to run and u need 4 diffrent buildings in that chain (without specialists). So if u build it as soon as u unlock Artisans the maintenance cost for that whole production chain will cost u more money than u get back in income. Beer for the Workers are in a simular situation but not as severe but in general it´s better to upgrade some more houses before building the early consumer goods for each population tier to help boost the income u get from those consumer goods.
That kind of stuff isn't covered in this video cuz this video is about basic production overview and farmers... Let me get to that in the next video lol... You're jumping ahead on things that don't matter at the farmer tier. The focus of this video was to understand how to just see the basics of what you'll need to know to get you into workers first.
Are you sure there are no penalties for having a lot of unemployed ppl? If i remember correctly, you pay more taxes to queen if you go over some limit. I never bothered to learn those calculatuons because I always have a lot of extra income but I think there is something about that.
Royal taxes has nothing to do with unemployed population... Once you've passed 1000 population of any given tier then you will start incurring a scaling tax on your income from each tier that has passed the 1,000 mark up to a maximum of 40% at 4,850 residents. It doesn't matter if they are employed or not.
and another is the NEWSPAPER, that is buggy as heck, its not consistent at all. The no warning pop up published ones that are 3 red marked articles. That i did not get option to place influence for green at all. then my town goes broke and unhappy game over
I've never seen any reports about the newspaper being an issue. If you miss the newspaper pop up, then you can always look in the upper left hand corner under notifications and there is a specific section for the newspaper and it gives you a countdown timer until the newspaper is published. You can click on that countdown timer to bring up the newspaper to change it... You also have to make sure you have enough influence to publish any propaganda articles.
"Have as much work force as you want, there is no penalty" Royal Taxes? Yes, royal taxes. Not that royal taxes is a problem, of course. But royal taxes IS a penalty for having too much workforce.
you claim their is no penalty for unemployed but thier is = build 100 houses no jobs see how fast the island fails. oh unemployed no penalty ?? adding supplies changes them to workforce adding jobs, so its not unemployed at that point, so clearly this proves their is penatly for to many unemployed on islands especially early game. Early game dont go crazy with unemployed as it is a sure fire way to go broke fast, claiming unemployed is not a penalty early game is a mistake.
I'll address this at the start of the next video. I can understand what you're saying but to me that's sort of an extreme of what I was talking about. It's a valid point I agree but not what I was trying to talk about.

Thanks, been playing Anno since 1602 and just started on 1800 last year. The influence info was very helpful.
Just getting into this game and I've been so lost lol. These videos are amazingly helpful, thank you!!!
Really looking forward to the rest of the series....there is always something you miss in Anno 1800. Great work Taka!!
More useful information here, particularly on the stats screen. Thanks again, looking forward to workers.

Great nut and bolts explanation of how to get started-the tutorial is too open ended...ready to start now-thx!!
Thank you for these tips, my city has stopped burning since I’ve been using your tricks 🤣🤣
Watching these guides makes me want to start a new game lol!

Are there any mods that make the production values easier to read? Like maybe exact numbers or decimal numbers
The one concept I'm still struggling with is whether or not to make each island completely independent and produce all of its basic needs, or have some islands specialize and ship those produced goods to the islands specializing in other goods.
Same! I'm struggling with wondering if I should have all my steelworks or mines on one island to stop all the polution making the main city ugly >.

How do you have it snowing? Is there a dlc that unlocks seasons? I've only seen rain once or twice (been playing for a few days)
I'm going to restart because I hate how poorly laid out my city is. I also wonder if I should have any DLC enabled
Great job Taka :)

Having this issue too. I have the console and PC version. PC version is way more intuitive
Shouldn't they add dlc "seasons"? So many things could depend on season - even access to arctic area.
These are great
Good job!
