*Except that this is exactly what Lenin did in the lead-up to the Russian Revolution.* Destabilize the regime by enabling criminals (partisan or otherwise) and punishing honest citizens defending themselves. Later, said criminals were either the first lined up against the wall or were sent to the gulags, where they were allowed to continue preying on non-violent prisoners. No joke, look up Russia's "Cannibal Island" to see the kind of savagery that was actively encouraged by the Reds. Probably only a matter of time before Western countries start having their own cannibal island "experiments."

I honestly dont think they even realize what theyre doing. The people pulling their strings want the chaos and strife so regular people just break down and beg a giant govet to come in and "save them" Thats what they are pushing. Whether they realize it or not. Thats why the term "useful idiot" exists. Just because someone is in a public office making 6 figures doesnt mean they are totally oblivious to what they are actually doing.

One thing to point out in this story is that the head of the Oakland NAACP endorsed Terry Wiley, Price’s opponent. Wiley was a career prosecutor who argued that pretrial detention, LWOP sentencing, and focusing on repeat offenders were necessary to protect public safety; Price campaigned against all of these. Additionally, Price won 53-47, it wasn’t like Oakland voters overwhelmingly selected her.

They're that detached from reality, and occasionally they maintain that detachment even after they're victimized themselves. Sad, but true.

I think change is on the way. Last I heard we still have the 3 strikes law. The trick is that prosecutors like Price work overtime to make sure career criminals never get those strikes, so that they can be out on the street pronto. The D Party just refused to make child s*x trafficking a "serious" felony, so that it becomes a strike, and that judge in Riverside County was obviously stalling sentencing the (it looked to me from his tattoos) Aryan Nation creep who while out having twice skipped bail murdered a Riverside Sheriffs Deputy. So the law's there, it's just they strive to avoid it going into effect because its "unfair."

I hope we all at least get to watch these reprobates' sentencing from the Lord on Judgement Day. I was watching a political commentator talk about this very thing. The example given is that you may have these communities and people who wholeheartedly support the progressive polices, the reality of their choice comes into effect, they'll let someone like Rudi Guliani get elected to fix things for a few years, then they'll snap back to where they was. They aren't having a genuine shift in their way of thinking and effectively putting 2 and 2 together. They're mad now cause it's affecting them, but most will never ascribe the progressive policies they endorse as the root cause of it all.
It's like the Mayor of Chicago. They get rid of Lightfoot cause it's so bad but they skipped the part where you let the sane person fix their fuck up for a while and instead just doubled down on someone who's like Lightfoot but way worse. I will commend someone for doing a mea culpa over a long period of time. Showing that they truly realized they made a mistake, is doing things to actively fix their mistake, and doing things to not be fooled again in the future. One good thing in progress ain't enough for a parade.

Price is one of those people that are so ideologically captured as to be unable to think through the potential and totally predictable negative results of her choices.
Should there be more resources devoted to mental health and poverty to help reduce crime? Yes but not at the expense of police funding until we see actual *results* that make that possible. Should we do as much as possible to keep black youth, all youth actually, out of the prison system so that they have a chance of avoiding a life of crime? Yes but not at the cost of letting repeat offenders back on the streets, and never before they show they are no longer dangerous to the public.
Does America's past sins affect the present conditions of the much of the black community? Yes but our solutions to right those wrongs of the past cannot be at the expense of those that live in the present. There is a way to make these things better for *all* American's but people like DA Price are not the right people for the job.
