I would have left Oakland after I first saw other businesses get looted, with no consequences. The fact that this has happened to him 7-8 times makes me wonder if there wasn't some other factor in play. I would also guess that after the first couple of times the insurance companies would have already dropped their coverage.

He should have moved his business to a state that supports him. How many times does someone need to be robbed before they just move on? It’s hard to feel bad when they just keep voting for the same people, then expect to be the only business that doesn’t get affected????
@@justinbond558Well said, getting robbed 8 times and STAYING isn’t very smart
He likely voted for it. I left Oakland because people vote for it, fuck that place.
No need to feel sorry, it’s a choice to live in Oakland. If they can work hard enough to make rent in Oakland, they can definitely move to another area in California. They choose to live in Oakland.
His taxes his talents his purchases his body etc etc directly fund the system that allows this to happen to him without repurcussions. I use to feed the beast directly. No more.
Crime seems to be going down because most don’t bother reporting crimes as nothing happens to solve the crimes.
Yep, plus a big number of crime victims have been brainwashed to think it's actually immoral to report crimes because the police will just kill that person or something.
Honestly reforming the prisons/jails and building more humane prisons like prisons/jails in Norway or Germany would be fine, punishment and rehabilitation programs in prison/ jails would be fine but people still need to be punished(correctional facility)and reformed(rehabilitated) for their crimes
Is there no way to challenge the DA on these cases? Or is there, and nobody is willing to do it because it’d be too difficult, or maybe it’s just an issue of apathy?
It seems a lot of it is in the hands of the voters. As long as the voters want this, its not going to change. We are seeing more areas like Detroit being created and democrats continue to easily win elections in Detroit.
Ya it's called a bullet
Missouri’s state AG started charging criminals under MO law that the St. Louis Soros at let’s off.
All those plus believing the "other side" will make it worse. I wonder how?
@@1950Grendel There's two facts: The first is that the law enforcement is weak and ineffectual, crimes aren't punished.
But there is a second fact that keeps people from wanting better law enforcement: there are WAY too many laws especially in places like California, so everyone is committing multiple crimes every day so if law enforcement were empowered it would be very frightening for all the existing criminals who are breaking laws they don't even understand. Most people fear law enforcement more than criminals because most people don't own stores.

I feel so bad for this man
This made me think of that old black man that had his business destroyed during the LA riots. He is standing there in the street in a moment of just raw emotion after having everything he had worked so hard to build over a lifetime destroyed in a matter of minutes for no reason. It is heartbreaking and puts a tear in my eyes every time .
It was a Korean man.
The same thing happened in Tulsa Oklahoma.

@@tyedollasign4034I visit that video every now and again.
That older black guy at the end of the video who was talking about parents teaching their kids how to steal and how he just couldn't understand it.
He was my favourite person in the whole thing.
@@scorchedearth4248 oh really? Was that before or after a bunch of hothead highly melinated young men marched to the police station and caused a violent pew pew fight because their shoulder chips were deepened?
When I lived outside Oakland, I only risked traveling there to visit a plant nursery that carried the rarest grapevines but I last time I traveled there, a guy was conspicuously looking into cars parked outside and I noped back home.
I no longer feel sorry for these people.
They wanted this lunacy.
Another case of (attempted) shoplifting at my job today. Thankfully, one of my managers caught the woman responsible red-handed. We're all hoping that she won't come back since the entire staff now knows that she's suspicious and has attempted to steal from us. If that's not enough, I'll be happy to call the police any time she comes into the store.
I live in Pennsylvania. I just read an article about how the progressive movement is gaining huge victories in all forms of legislation. This is exactly how Oakland started. I visited my uncle many time in Oakland when I was a kid and Oakland was beautiful. I fear this for Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania overall. Let’s hope not.
Fellow PA resident but from near Philly. Same thing happening here. Watched my area flip from Red to woke Blue. Everything I loved about where I lived is gone and replaced by Woke hipsters who are wrecking everything with Progressive policies and not understanding why things are getting worse.
Move
@@metalrules1135So everything is the same as usual then. The leftists show they don’t know what they are talking about, yet again.
This story just infuriates me. I feel bad for the man and I get it. He loves Oakland. But he needs to realize that the area is a lost cause and he needs to leave. I do hope he considers moving out of the state because after that many break ins, he would pull a Walmart in Chicago and blow that pop stand.
7 times, makes you wonder if he might be pals with Jussie.
I would have left Oakland after I first saw other businesses get looted, with no consequences. The fact that this has happened to him 7-8 times makes me wonder if there wasn't some other factor in play. I would also guess that after the first couple of times the insurance companies would have already dropped their coverage.
They asked for this in the majority, so, "fuck around and find out" as they says.
Imagine thinking any part of that area is safe. Moving a few blocks won't get you away from problems.
He's suffering from denial.
The money wasted paying the salaries of useless District Attorneys should go toward compensating victims of crime 🤨
💯‼️
Oakland city government is also dysfunctional as well. Would love a journalist *hint hint* to do a deep dive into what goes on behind the walls of city hall.
He should sue the city and state and take it all the way to the supreme court! What a bunch of evil people to continue destroying this mans livelihood!!
If being cleared out eight times is Oakland "being good to you", I'd hate to be anywhere near the place when it was being bad to you.
Just always reminds me of the crabs in the bucket theory. They can't better themselves so they keep trying to pull everybody down to their level.
Anyone watching this video or reading this comment from Oakland should go and show this man some support and love. He's one of the few good ones left and deserves much better than this
He deserves no pity after the third time, after being robbed the 3rd time, it’s on him. It’s the definition of insanity and he deserves it.
Guaranteed he’s probably a BLM activist. Reap what you sow.
He's got insurance.
It would take me over 12 hours by plane to get there.
It sounds nice but Black, law abiding citizens, get no help from their own representatives. Furthermore, Black community "leaders/activists" have already apologised for the criminals destroying Black owned businesses by saying those businesses are insured.
Give YOU?? Give ME the money!

8 times after 3 times it does start to get suspect, it almost starts to sound like insurance fraud, with swap meets and flea markets all around California it would be pretty easy to do this, what do I know. If the rate of crime is really high in that area, it really just makes it even harder to prove that it is not a little bit of a scam. I know it sounds harsh and I usually give people the benefit of doubt.
Definitely easier ways to get away with insurance fraud than staging armed robberies.
@@gorkyd7912 Like what? Burning it down? Nope. Easiest way with highest payout is new merchandise walking out the door.
After too many claims, the insurance company drops the client.
@@AuroraBoarder1 And that would be when the insurance fraud would have to stop. But he'd be able to do it until then. Maybe even use the press for a story on how insurance companies are racist because they don't want to cover a black-owned business in a black community.
There was a major story about 1-2 years ago where it was blatant insurance fraud and everyone couldn't believe the company was paying out but others pointed to their site and all the DEI stuff they have posted, plus in February all the "shop here at these black-owned businesses" type of messages. These companies are terrified of upsetting these groups because they feel like their profits are cushy so long as they stay away from bad PR.
Crime will fall, when there is nothing left to steal.
Moving location works but you would have to move to a location that lacks diversity and probably not exactly his clientele. This is what happens when your clientele is literally thugs. It's like a drug dealer getting robbed ... not exactly a surprise

Thomas Sowell has written extensively about this very point. Soft-on-crime policies hurt the communities they're supposed to help the most. Of course, this is exactly what the point of this kind of mentality is - to dismantle America.
I can actually see BLM giving this guy a few death threats if during one of those robberies the robber tripped and died.
BLM is the most hypocritical group out there. Imagine a movement aimed at bettering the lives of black people, run by white people, and don’t show up in places where black people kill black people. Black lives don’t matter to BLM, the only thing that matters is the rise of crime because that’s what they want.

On one side I feel bad for honest business owners trying to make a living and provide goods and services.
But on the other hand, these people need to feel this pain before any change can be implemented. Sadly the community does not listen to the millions of us warning them this exact thing would happen. Maybe dealing with the consequences of their poorly thought out ideas will change their minds.
Its one thing to ignore you and not listen. What they did and keep doing is villify you for your insensitive and evil heavy handed policies instead of adopting their progressive healing justice that wise academicians came up with. You are evil when you disagree with them.

Oakland has told LA, SF and NY to... "Hold my BL!"
This guy should hide trackers in some random high priced display items. If they get lifted he has their location.
Police still won't do anything
Unfortunately, the shop owner would get into trouble for that. Not the fuckwit stealing the items though -_- but def agree. Should track them locate them take your stuff back and rob their fucking house while your there. Show em how it feels. Or better yet take your shit back and let the house go up in flames. Bonus points if the thieves are in it.
Even if they did, it's debatable if charges would ever get pressed. Against the criminals, that is. I'm sure the store owner would get all sorts of flak tracking his stolen property.
Do thieves go to jail in Oakland?
to incarcerate the bleeps is bad
I’m willing to bet there is more to this story that the store owner is not letting the public know.

With this many burglaries, this could very well be an inside job by someone who knows the owner well.

Or, it could actually be the result of bad police policies, bad DA policies and criminals who have been told they have a free pass to steal from anyone they want.
Why wouldn't they continue to steal when they know there are no consequences?
I was thinking the same thing. A friend, a girlfriend, an employee or a customer. Some one who is well aware of the value of his merchandise and consistency of his sales transactions.
