I was shot at stopping my girlfriend from being carjacked and kidnapped in Memphis. These morons robbed a guy at gunpoint before us and kidnapped a guy after us. They were only ever charged for the last guy. My case number was changed and I was never talked to by police again after I was interviewed. I was not entitled to any details and found out how the case was dropped due to “lack of prosecution” from a news article. One of the four had all the kidnapping charges dropped because he “wasn’t connected” despite running from the car the others were caught in and being on the run for like 3 weeks. The other guy, my girlfriend, or I were never mentioned in news or charges once. The guy who was kidnapped is named Zachari Pappas so look him up to see the minimal news coverage there was of the night. He was the only one who actually got charges to stick. Saw him at the police station. Poor guy looked all sorts of screwed up with a thousand yard stare. They threw him from the car during a chase. In the confusion of them shooting at me I thought they shot my girlfriend and I thought she was dead for a bit while I was in cover. I will never forget the feeling. She screamed in a way I didn’t know she could. I called 911 6 times and the apathetic operator couldn’t care less. I kept saying I think my girlfriend has been shot and it took 20+ minutes for anyone to show up. She would have been dead if she was shot at like I thought and I would have been dead if gangsters could aim better. I was only 19 and it happened Father’s Day night last year (ironic) and the “anniversary” just recently was depressing to think about. I have never gotten into any trouble, have always been a try hard perfect GPA student. Haven’t even done as much as tried weed and I still know what it sounds like to hear the bullets whizz by my head and what it feels like to think my girlfriend was murdered in front of me thanks to these bullshit politics protecting horrible people. The people in that city don’t care and will vote for it again. The city will continue not reporting crimes and letting this happen. I have to live with PTSD from something that is barely even recorded in history because it was more important to protect these scumbags than innocent law abiding kids that might actually contribute to society. College has been hard since. Hard to be around all those people when you expect them to do the worst things to you. They were robbing people for dab pen money. The stolen car was full of them and they reeked. Criminals are criminals because they’re allowed to be not because they need to feed their families. So yeah, I don’t have to imagine being the victim and it really sucks. This country is unrecognizable since 2020 and my classmates will vote for it because of their ignorance.

Sarcasm works when it matches the details of the story a bit better.
The OP's comment was so lazy he didn't get the basics right indicating he didn't know the first thing about this one commenting blindly.

When I worked for a north suburban police force in Cook County we had just two guys who were true criminals. Each had been coddled as juvenile delinquents and were arrested several times. Eventually one stole a car in Lake County and got 2-3 years in prison. The other tried to establish a heroin selling operation in Champaign County, getting his sister addicted along the way. He got 20-22 years. Our police department had a sudden drop in crime.

I worked in an area where it was almost impossible to prosecute a juvenile. We had a kid that was always stealing cars, robbing people, and running from the police. He would always brag that he was going to get away with it. It was so bad that we all had his birthday memorized. I chased him down in a stolen car one night, and he was bragging about getting away with it. I smiled and said happy birthday Jeremy! He had turned 18 at midnight and I arrested him at 12:30. He must have been arrested 20 times the first month of his adulthood. He pretty much decided to calm down after that.

The issue in Chicago is not racial, it is cultural. They are also the fault of the Democratic Party.
