    20 rep max is the ultimate gut check. and a sweet sweet leg pump. I always get nervous before I do it.

    The book "Super Squats" changed my life! Load the bar w your 10 rep max weight, then do 20 reps without racking the bar. It's the hardest thing you'll do all week, but builds incredible strength mentally and physically.

    After 20 years of training and now 50 it's always fun to do an activity with 20 year olds and kicking their butts. Yeah I'm nothing special, but videos like this are always a great motivation. Cheers. Question : What do you think of close leg Squats using a plate to load the quads a bit more?

    Great video👍. Agreed with the pre squat ritual. I love doing lunges before squats nowadays. 10 minute block, sometimes 15. Bodyweight, smooth glides. Makes my squatting feel so darn smooth going into them with a great pump

    FCKIN LOVED THAT ONE, (the part in quotations) SHOULD GO ON THE BACK OF ONE OF YOUR T-SHIRTS. I DONT LIKE TO GET, OR BE IN MY HEAD AND THINK ABOUT IT. "JUST GET UNDER THE BAR, AND GET TO WORK" A TRUE TOTAL BADASS QUOTE . THE KING OF MENTAL TOUGHNESS.

    Great video!
    Can you do a video especially for pull up Progression?
    I am stuck in between my 4-9 reps, and my goal is to 15 pull ups for at least 3 sets.
    Thank you and greetings from Germany

      Swimming for sure, it is zero impact and helps rehab muscles, the density of the water takes a lot of pressure off your joints

    You can tell how mentally strong Josh is. Especially for that last set. Before he even got to 10 reps it looked like he was struggling on camera and I was just thinking “there’s no way he’s doing 20” 😂

    Sets of 50 folks- the way i did it for hockey- get 50 in 60s. Single leg skater dead squats (start at bottom) for 50 per leg also - no time limit just go. By best strength endurance number ever is BW on bar for reps. 60 was my best

    Having done a fair bit of squatting I would say you don't have a 20 rep max, 20 rep set is so long that working up to it taxes you so much that you can have a 20 rep set, but not a proper 20 rep max

    20 rep squat in total? Are warming up to do a set of 20? Explain yourself better my man.

    • @chriswatts9227
      @chriswatts9227 6 місяців тому

      Josh did show his warm up leg extensions etc. I don't exactly what he went for here but the typical 20 rep squat workout is get ready to squat what you'd normally do for 8-12 reps. But then you do 20. You can rest but you can't rack the bar. If you don't search you'll find it.
      Then if you're crazy you do the Jocko Willink variation where you rest and repeat it three times, I think he aims to do three sets in an hour.
