no shit right. the whole time I'm sitting here thinking which of my neighbor's low riders I should take but then I'm like wait why do that I'll just go buy my 2 year old son a cheap power wheel knock off and let him do it, and the cheap ones just like the four wheeler one I got him has one wheel drive.
I know he could and he walk up to the people in the Chevy afterwards with the plastic keys and drop them and say "owned" then walk away with a strut. He's kind of a little smartass with his daddy's attitude. Not to mention ahead of most kids his age. I've had people ask me if I lie about his how old he is.
That will be my next truck! I had planned to buy out my leased Colorado in a few months as it's been totally trouble free, tows extremely well with great mileage and power! But the ZR2 is just awesome!
danthebig__Z :v only if the diesel becomes available in the Ext Cab model would I consider it. Cause I feel the gas engine is very good to begin with! Plus the newer gas engine has more power and eight speed trans now. TFL has a video of a comparison of a gas vs. diesel Colorado, the gas was faster going up the Ike Gauntlet and had plenty of power, but the diesel did get better mileage and seems to be more relaxed and at lower rpm than the gas, on a long trip that is helpful. But we plan on doing a lot of traveling with our travel trailer in the near future. Even though the tow rating on the ZR2 is lower than the reg truck, my trailer still is no where near the limits at 4,000 lbs. We will be going to places that having the extra off road capability will be great, even though the Z71 has always brought us through! I just like the look, plus I'm sure a ZR2 will ride better in every circumstance. The only equipment I see that come with the ZR2, that is not conducive to a lot of hyw travel are the tires! I might need to get another set of wheels and tires with a more friendly hyw tread for comfort, quiet and over the road traction, for the long haul.
Oh I have a real fine truck! That goes, does and brings me when, where and how I want to go. With room for the wife and dogs, while towing our travel trailer anywhere we want to go. After a year and 16,00 trouble free miles, I know I have a real truck!
A year and 16,000 miles is nothing. 5 years and 60,000 miles is what you want to be saying like you get with the new diesel trucks. And for the price of the ZR2 you can get a 3/4 ton truck that can do you way more than a little colorado
Such a well built truck 2 years later and it is still on top. Check out the new car and driver article. Jeep gladiator vs Ford ranger vs Tacoma vs ridge line. No spoilers here but all I'm gonna say such a well built truck.
locker vs lcd .. of course locker is the best because both differential both lock , lsd is only limited slip so any situation like a serious offroad it will stuck

Why do people narcissistically have to believe what they have s better? Right now, objectively the zr2 is better than trd.
Give us back the S10 ZR2. Manual 6 cyl. Don't even change much about the exterior looks, just update the interior and make brand new ones just like that.
If there still making this truck 5 to 7 years from now I will be the first to apologize and say I was wrong and may give this truck a hard look at buying

It has a front locker which the TRD pro doesn't and I'm sure it's outstanding off road. I would buy one but it's not $45k nice. Maybe for $35k. The Tacoma will probably still sell better because people are brainwashed that it's the best off road/mid size truck in the country. It's like iPhone vs Samsung galaxy when it comes to mid size trucks. The Tacoma is going to sell better because of the false perception even though the Colorado ZR2 is better on paper like the galaxy is better on paper than the iPhone but it's more popular because of its name.
Josh E 05 - 15 tacomas are better the new ones with the new pussy motor are not they have more gay features but are not reliable and they are weak as crap. Toyota's rep will be damaged by the 3rd gen idk why they would try to fix something that wasn't broken.
tacos have more after market support. people who actually off-road their trucks always modify them. for that reason alone people will buy tacos over the zr2. maybe the aftermarket for the zr2 will eventually catch up but for now advantage toyota.
I know toyota fans think Tacos are the end all be all of anything... and they are good, however... better truck they aren't. They ride on reputation. They have always had pussy motors. Last gen had some glaring issues (frame rust anyone? CV joints, Leaf Springs falling out, Lower ball joints, valve issue on the 2.7L, etc.) that toyota fanboys say are non-issues, they have always been on the low end of capability for hauling, towing etc... Smelly, while they have a better aftermarket, it ain't cheap to mod a Yoda. And its really not hard to mod anything. I don't think aftermarket support is that big of a deal. If it was, everyone would drive Jeeps which has by far the largest aftermarket support of any vehicle made...
Who cares about the fullsuze market when you can have a light nearly 400hp truck with fantastic suspension. It would be so much fun. That's the only reason I would buy one, is with a 5.3

That suspension is absolutely amazing. DSSV dampers for the win.

insane man. the mini trucks are the size of full size pickups from just a few years ago. trucks are too dam big now.
Finally a test track that a chevy can do that my Mazda 6 cant. I've waiting 10 years for this
Front Diff Lock? RIP Tacoma, RIP.
tacoma has Atrac? which is better than a locker or lsd
The best Colorado it has Front and rear locker than tacoma ,tacoma had a Limited slip differential but it comes to a mudd oh dead

Tacoma airbags dont just randomly go off..so there is that.

Chevy nailed it with their midsized truck, I wish dodge would step up their game
I wish they'd put 60k real miles on them first so you can see how they perform when used

I drive one for work, 38k miles (yes its a fleet maintained) but it still runs flawless
