Very interesting! For me -- both the 70-200 and a 70 macro are two specialty lenses that I only need 10% of the time. It's interesting to have a well priced lens that covers both options...

I'm very excited by this lens. I love macro and have the Sony 90mm which is excellent. I've the Sony 100-400 too which I love but I'm considering selling both those lenses and buying this. I've the x2 teleconverter so this lens would cover so much for me. It's small, light and so versatile.

I like your style and your approach on photo gear! What´s on my mind: isn´t it the same if you attach a macro-ring on let´s say a 70-200 2.8 and get similar results like with this new f4 macro?
You can really add extended tube to any lens and make it more macro. But it’s cumbersome and doesn’t result in the same experience.
Arguably you could, but using a macro extension tube/ring would mean you lose infinity focus, making it impossible to shoot distant subjects without removing the extension ring first.
