Every time I'm nauseous/vomity I end up eating an entire sleeve or two of saltines and nothing else except maybe some toast and then wonder why I didn't lose any weight while I was sick.
@Medroff Saltines are good when you're sick because they're generally pretty inoffensive to your stomach. Plus the salt can replenish a bit of the electrolytes you may have lost from various sickly bodily functions.
As long as we can get flour , and I forget which, but baking soda or baking powder, just add water and bake. Salt of course for the saltines... I already had a stock pile of those because I was raised by Grandma who lived through the Great Depression.
Alton, I've gotta say, all these little mini web videos are just as good as anything you make on TV. PLEASE keep making lots of them when this whole crisis is resolved! Also, is there anywhere I can find the version of the hand washing video with the cleaver? I thought it was hilarious.

As much as I love hearing your wit and humor, this quiet video was very calming and relaxing to watch. Great stuff as always, Alton. Thanks for helping keep us trying new things and exploring the ingredients we have laying around in these more desperate times!
I just love your creative brain and fabulous taste buds!!! Got so very tired of seeing these videos of the latest quarantine pantry videos and then you come out with this gem! Thanks Alton!

Dry mustard is an amazing addition to homemade Mac and cheese!
Right!?!? I always have some in my pantry.

Sorta the same with that (ground cloves instead) . And also love the profile pic of saber astolfo there

"One sleeve of saltines" A.K.A. one serving of saltines.
One mouthful.

I love how Alton is slowly becoming the post-apocalypse's best TV chef.
He was already science nerd's best TV chef, it's only fitting that he should hold this title too.
P.S. I also understand that he is a Thyme Lord ;-)
Amen!😍
Post-apocalypse? I'm afraid we're still mid apocalypse 😩
Well all that took was an apocalypse. He was always the best TV chef sense we lost Julia.
Ugh, the microwave is all they way over there. Hey, a torch!
I instantly read this in Alton Browns voice!
Shelly Parchman,
Priceless!
😄😄😄
In arm's reach, no less. One might beware of igniting mustard powder(1:03)

2 years later, yes there was and now the price is up by 300%.
Freaking notrodomus over here
When my kids were little, for an afternoon snack, we often times had saltines topped with butter and strawberry jam.
I remember having them with just butter.
I've put vegemite as an Aussie
Cheese Whiz and crackers was our go to as kids.
Just peanut butter in between two saltines. Needs to be the smooth kind.
Like it with A ripe banana, the unsalted ones

Yeah but no Tabasco. That's my go to. Tabasco is not the hottest sauce, but it does have a good kick and it brings some serious flavor.
