@@chrisa2223 I've been in all 3 (CT4, CT5, CT6) and I think the CT4 feels slightly bigger than the ATS. The CT5 feels slightly smaller or the same as the CTS and of course the CT6 is biggest/roomiest
Chris A222 The CT5 is bigger than a ATS but smaller than a CTS. The CT5 replaces both models. The CT4 competes in a new category in the sub compact category. Such as the Mercedes CLA and the new BMW 1 series but the CT4 is built on a RWD platform while its German competitors are built on FWD platforms. Cadillac designed the CT4 to be roomy and RWD that’s why a lot of people think it’s a ATS replacement when in fact it’s actually a totally new car.
Raiti's Rides absolutely...I just traded my 2016 CT6 for a BMW. Caddy needs to do a better job with the interior. The instrument cluster should be all digital, it’s very Chevy like. The color is great though.

I don't think, people understand the performance is for a more relaxed driver. It's a good direction for Cadillac overall, new infotainment, updated interior and new appearance. Only true zonk is the non digital dash for 51k. Should have a digital speedometer or something although at least you don't have to worry about it in the future.
Great review! I leased a 2014 ATS 6speed “Tremec” manual 2.0T Performance edition and it was the funnest car I had ever driven. I loved it! Amazing ride, lots of power! I felt like a 21 year old driving a Subaru WRX, though with the stately name of Cadillac, it was age appropriate 😊BUT, tons of electrical problems and CUE system that kept freezing and would blank out from time to time. Cadillac made an amazing effort with that car and while I Hope this car has improved electronics, I would only lease again if it had a manual transmission. I believe In Cadillac and I hope they get to the reliability of Lexus one day. But I can tell you like the Cadillac brand. There is a passionate tone to your Cadillac reviews! Great Job!
Just test drove a 2021 Premium Luxury with the V6. Too much engine noise, especially for it being the luxury trim. Also, during the drive I was hearing a loud hissing noise, like the radio was on a station without reception. However the radio was off. I asked the sales guy and he said it was the ventilated seats. So, I turned it off and noise gone. Been in other cars with ventilated seats and never experienced that, very weird. It’s those little details that keep me from switching from German to American.
As an ATS V owner I'm disappointed in Cadillac. The inside is nice but cant help to think the outside looks like a Honda Accord, used to be aggressive.
@@thewolf61691 Yeah right. If the truth doesn't suit you just claim the information is tainted. Fake news right? Maybe a hoax? Sounds like a current politician constantly babbling the same type of nonsense.
@@jdm1039 it is tainted, I own a m340i charger hellcat and c6 Corvette. Cadillac paid me $100 to drive all their vehicles as a competitive comparison offer. They are a joke.
The interiors of ALL the new Cadillacs are so bland and scream CHEAP! The Interiors on the new Hyundai Sonata and upcoming Kia Optima look WAY more luxurious than this and they have all the safety and luxury equipment offered in this car for THOUSANDS less. Come on Cadillac. Fire your entire interior design team and get some fresh blood with fresh luxury perspective. One last FYI, Carbon Fiber does NOT lend a luxury feel to anything and piano black surfaces should be banned from any car where people use their fingers or hands to touch anything. Give us some nice matte, open-pore wood and aluminum or knurled metal accent surfaces and slather the rest in soft leather or maybe a nice quality silk cloth! You can do SO much better than this, Cadillac!
The interior materials in the new Hyundai's and Kia's are striking but there is cost cutting somewhere and I predict they will not wear well over time. Can't argue about the safety tech being standard. Frankly I personally don't want most of that stuff.
Throw any well appointed interior out in the hot FL sun and watch it deteriorate quickly! This applies for any vehicle, not just people impartial to Korean, Japanese, or European made vehicles!
Damn, Cadillac has lost it's path again. This vehicle is set up for failure right from the get go. A new 2.0t Honda Accord will beat the CT5 in all disciplines for a much lower price.
Good review. I might get one, if my XTS Plat.gets old. No rear armrest pass through, though, for my fishing pole. How big is the center console storage? How tall are you? I like the door speakers where I won't kick the grill.
Derek Robinson the $12k extra over the starting price does not include any powertrain upgrades. This is still a 350T base engine which means the exhaust note will be the same as the base $37k CT5. So not sure why you thought because it’s $50k the exhaust note would change.
It looks great but will it last? I just traded in my CTS which was falling apart ($5k of misc repairs) just 3 months out of warranty. Got a BMW. Couldn't be happier.
Too bad to see Cadillac move there product line forward in this way. This vehicle looks like a Mazda or some other NON American car. It definitely has not an inkling to do with Cadillac luxury-sport design language that was perfected in the 2010 to 2014 CTS. This emanation of Cadillac was superb in design inside and out and was of very good quality. These cars screamed Cadillac. This CT5 is not at all what I want from Cadillac. I have a CTS 4 Premium wagon....loaded out. Just a superlative machine. This CT 5 gives more credit to the EuroAsian market which it is emulating. Now you have a product that is so much ‘like’ the EuroAsian market I can now look at owning a Beamer. Once upon a time there was no comparison before. Thanks Cadillac!
Great review! Impressed that I love the design GM really knocked this one out of the park. It’s a design enthusiasts could get behind unfortunately 0-60 in 7.1 seconds would be a pretty big letdown if this vehicle is priced to take-out the bmw 3 series
GM still doesn't get it. They continue to build cars that are just good enough, never best in class. This car is slower than almost all of its competition. They claim that they want to be the top luxury brand in the world, yet they release half baked cars like this. I'm not saying that this isn't a nice car. However, the competition is brutal and you need to bring your A game if you want to be relevant. This is more of a B- effort. They can do better but just won't.
Saw one today when my CTS was in for service. Nice car but it really needs the V6 Twin Turbo. For 51k you need the V6. Can't see paying that price for a 4 banger.

This car would look good in Pearl white with all the black accenting IMO. Very sharp looking in this red also.
I totally agree with you! I am so glad that you like this one.
Clean ride it look better than some others.
$51k for a caddy doesn’t sound too bad but it doesn’t have a $51k size engine. Therefore you’re paying for the name. Love the red. Nevertheless I’d save $20k and get me a red Camry TRD. Another great video from Joe the UA-cam king. 👍
Yeah this is not competitive with a lot of cars and SUVs. This is going to have a lot of discounts to move I think. There's not a lot of brand loyal Cadillac people anymore and this is just not enough to attract a new market.
Camry is too low to the ground
For 51k I rather take the stinger gt2
That caddy looks sweet
8:38 it sounds like it has 1 hp
Troll. I'm guessing if the same exact sound came from a Honda or something like that you'd think it was great.
Hahaha this is the best comment I saw today
@Dying Starz So many laughing faces just to try and reinforce that your comments (in your own mind) are " hilarious". Pretty sure most car companies build things in Mexico. The car in this video is built in the US. 😝🤪😜😅🤣😄😛😋. See now MY comments must be funny because I put smiley faces after it🤗🤗😑. It is actually really, really funny because I used different styles if smiley faces. Here is another one just to reiterate how funny my comments were🥰
@Dying Starz You may have a future in comedy instead of internet trolling. But this is probably easier, sitting in your mom's basement and all.
@Dying Starz No, I'm not mad. Idiots have a place in the world too. I actually have laughed a couple times during our little exchange. Not because you are genuinely funny or anything like that. It was because you think you are being clever when in reality behind the smileys and such you come across as just the typical internet troll without anything of substance to offer.
awesome channel. i love my ATS but looking to get something new. your channel is helping me decided between CT5, CT5-V or CT4.
I liked seeing and getting in the CT5 and the CT4 at the car show in November, so it's good to see your review. Is the CT4 review coming in the near future or is it on your list? Also, that red is 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Alex for letting me share this one with you! The CT4 will be a few more months but you know that I will bring it to you as soon as they are in.
Raiti's Rides is the CT4 smaller than the ATS? I thought CT4=ATS and CT5=CTS?
Oh man that red is beautiful! I absolutely love bright red on cars, trucks and motorcycles.
It really pops!
The interior still still looks like a DAMN Chevy Malibu.
You think so?
Raiti's Rides yeah especially with the infotainment system. And the shifter/iDrive sorta knob is giving me BMW vibes not feeling it.
Raiti's Rides absolutely...I just traded my 2016 CT6 for a BMW. Caddy needs to do a better job with the interior. The instrument cluster should be all digital, it’s very Chevy like. The color is great though.
Obviously a number of steps up from a Malibu, as of course it should be.
Jeff Norris I’m still looking for a Malibu with this interior and a 10-inch vibrant colored infotainment display...y’all have some vivid and creative imaginations that’s for sure.
I don't think, people understand the performance is for a more relaxed driver. It's a good direction for Cadillac overall, new infotainment, updated interior and new appearance. Only true zonk is the non digital dash for 51k. Should have a digital speedometer or something although at least you don't have to worry about it in the future.
An absolute stunner but way underpowered for the look.
Lower horsepower than the Regal Sportback in a larger car.
Great Job!
This car in gold would look amazing
Whoever is behind the design of this car needs a raise because this thing is beautiful! 😍
13:39 is that Lori's Subaru BRZ ?
Damn Jay you have good eyes! Yes it is!
@@RaitisRides ☠💪☠💪💪☠☠💪☠💪☠☠☠ YESSSSSSSSSSS I KNEW IT 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗!!!!!!!!!!
Yes it's better than any BMW. Beautiful car. Excellent review. God bless you brother.
Sorry I'm late Joe I was resting LOL 🤣 . I'm here though
I wanted you to be rested for this one!
@@RaitisRides LOL Thanks Joe. I don't know what it is but in the late afternoon around 4 or 5 or 6 PM everyday I just crash 🤔.
Thanks for sharing that great input from your experience!
Dude, you say "zonk" one more time, I'm gonna zonk you...
At 6.02.. Is that a Honda Accord shape type of rear window?..
The only GM brand I like
I am glad that I could share this one with you!
As an ATS V owner I'm disappointed in Cadillac. The inside is nice but cant help to think the outside looks like a Honda Accord, used to be aggressive.
I love these bold title questions. BMW 3 series fanboys are going to be very mad that this Cadillac exists! 😂😂😂
Dreamy Right I see the haters all ready. But sorry the Cadillac’s exterior is far more appealing than the 3 series.
Nothing looks like a Cadillac coming down the road period! Love that look!!!
BMW fanboys laugh at this slow and cramped Caddy.
Wow that looks much better than previous pics posted by publications
Cadillac: Exists
Bmw: Am I a joke to you?!
You freaking crack me up!
CTS and ATS won dynamic/handling comparisons tests against BMW in the past.
@@jdm1039 LOL by paying journalists.
How does the ct5 compete with the 3 series when you have a ct4 please explain
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
Ok boomer
The interior materials in the new Hyundai's and Kia's are striking but there is cost cutting somewhere and I predict they will not wear well over time. Can't argue about the safety tech being standard. Frankly I personally don't want most of that stuff.
Throw any well appointed interior out in the hot FL sun and watch it deteriorate quickly! This applies for any vehicle, not just people impartial to Korean, Japanese, or European made vehicles!
Troy Simpkins Oh ok so you must REALLY hate the base BMW 330i interior then. Lol what a joke
is that a premium or platinum?
Me personally, not sure where the 50k price tag comes from
Same here the v version is supposed to start at what 48k
how much this car cost?
Great car
I am so glad that you like it!
I like this guy's personality.
That exhaust sound is so poor for a 50k car
Derek Robinson the $12k extra over the starting price does not include any powertrain upgrades. This is still a 350T base engine which means the exhaust note will be the same as the base $37k CT5. So not sure why you thought because it’s $50k the exhaust note would change.
mybro727 it just sounds mediocre is all
It looks great but will it last? I just traded in my CTS which was falling apart ($5k of misc repairs) just 3 months out of warranty. Got a BMW. Couldn't be happier.
51,000 for 230hp....crazy
I feel your pain!
USA 🇺🇸
Oh yeah1
Great review! Impressed that I love the design GM really knocked this one out of the park. It’s a design enthusiasts could get behind unfortunately 0-60 in 7.1 seconds would be a pretty big letdown if this vehicle is priced to take-out the bmw 3 series
I just dont appreciate Cadillacs. All I see is cheapness of GM. I cant appreciate it for what it is no matter how hard I try. And they bore me.
Is it a volume knob ?
That is really nice. 50K feels high. 40-45K would have been perfect. 50K should get you the V6 while 60-70k should get you the high performance.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one Jay!
Is there way to disable the simulated engine sound? It sounds terrible!
Cadillac has stepped their game up!!
They can do better but just won't.
something is giving me honda accord vibes about the exterior. i'm feeling that interior though! great review per usual!
Saw one today when my CTS was in for service. Nice car but it really needs the V6 Twin Turbo. For 51k you need the V6. Can't see paying that price for a 4 banger.
I totally agree with you about the engine!
