Cadillac has knocked this completely out of the park in my opinion. When I drive that car people don't pull out in front of me, the front and rear bumpers are real.
I was excited when I drove and bought my new ATS, CTS, and Escalade. Why was I excited because after breaking down over and over again, they sat sometimes days in service. It was like getting a new car again. Remember, the ATS broke down 16 times, the CTS broke down 8 times, the Escalade broke down 52 times. So if you buy a Cadillac, good luck.

Very comprehensive, thorough video. Really puzzled that there's no rear heated seats in your $50k premium luxury model. Power should be higher, too. Updated Cue is most welcome. The knobs suit me better than fingerprinting the display screen. Your videos are better than test driving oneself.
A couple of thoughts... rear end styling seems to be a miss. I realize that’s subjective but that’s seems to be a common consensus. NVH on that 4-cyl needs work, just sounds like a rental car motor. Way too much noise, and not good noise. Interior looks reasonably well thought out. While I don’t personally mind the gauges, the lack of full digital seems like a miss.
I don't see anything about the rear that looks disagreeable at all. I think the tail lights and overall shape look really good, same with the front end and profile. I think the interior styling of this is what needs work... Compared to the Germans and Lincoln it just doesn't look that impressive.
As a car it’s nice. As a Cadillac not so much. Did they just rebadge a Buick Lactosse and give it a Sonata shaped trunk? 4cyl turbo, with start/stop, so as to ensure coking inside the turbo housing? Confusing (deceptive?) badging? At least I knew what V8-6-4 meant, even if it was a disaster. To me, each new Cadillac appears more and more generic. Feels to me like GM doesn’t have clear designs in mind, they just make it more generic and redesign the lights. If Cadillac was doing well, I don’t think they would discontinue/introduce/rename models so often. Oh yes the chime. I remember not long ago when Cadillac had a mechanical chime as a seat belt warning-you could hear it thump in the dash as it rang. It meant something. The new chime does nothing for me. Please give me one reason to buy this instead of a Camry TRD.

Stepheon Coles Adjustable thigh support _is_ actually available in the Cadillac CT5. There’s a V8 engine coming on the CT5-V+ next year. The CT5-V 550T currently boast a twin-turbocharged V6 engine that will leave the Genesis G70 3.3T and BMW 340i in the dust. This will out-handle a G70 and be worlds more comfortable than a 3-series as a daily driver. This is a phenomenal improvement over the CTS in nearly every way and there’s no debating that. It offers the space and practicality of a 5-series at the price of a 3-series. A comfortable, luxurious, and sporty ride. Cadillac knocked this out of the park imo.

Daniel Hernandez when you’re shopping for a luxury vehicle, something that “works fine” Ain’t gonna cut it. Even my 4 year old X5 has a fully digital gauge cluster.
Its been the same story since the debut of the cts should bmw, mb be worried ? The answer is cadillac should be worried that after so many iterations they cant still get it
This car is awesome. I just don’t like how they cut off the actual window glass before the c pillar and put black piano behind it. The cabin would be less darker if the glass was extended beyond the c pillar. Btw nice review :)
Though I am a longtime Ford guy and dislike Cadillac interiors, I really like it. Love the chrome accents and the fastback styling was the cherry on top. I love fastbacks. But, cabin noise would be a concern. Bravo for keeping the Vi but don't skimp on the soundproofing GM. IF I had to choose between this and a 2020 Lincoln Continental With Coach Doors, I would likely choose this (but get the cabin noise reduced). And, yes, I do agree with Matt (mentioning the turn signal noise) that Cadillac should not have the same features as a Chevy.
I had a 2013 ATS - Got rid of it on late 2017 Reason #1 CUE entertainment inner screen cracked three times. #2 How much does it cost to change a headlight bulb. $575.00 including labor. Apparently you have to remove a bumper to change a light bulb. Got me so pissed-off, that same day went and got a new Honda Accord. If they fixed these issues then I would try getting Cadillac. Loved the ride quality.
My wife's old 2011 Malibu needed the front bumper removed to replace headlight bulbs too... Dealer wanted about $300 to do the job... I took it to an indy shop and had both headlights upgraded to longer-lasting LED's for $180 bucks. Don't be mad at the car just because you didn't shop around and allowed yourself to get ripped off.
As a 2014 CTS 4 owner, I will NEVER buy a Mercedes or BMW! I have 97k trouble free miles and she's still like new. The CT5 has an updated infotainment system with a bigger screen, MUCH better camera, and way cooler and useable functions.
Boys, you fucking killed it. Not much else for me to say. What an awesome car to come back to the channel and see as well, this one's been towards the top of the list to replace my Stinger and I look forward to finishing my review and having a better idea of a decision for this car!
They don't need to worry about the base model, because that 2.0t is way underpowered in comparison to the prior 2.0t from the ATS and CTS. The V eg V Sport is great though
Ct5 is a great addition to the Caddy line-up. I took a look at one for fun when I was getting my Ct6 serviced. Great size, nice performance, and the price compared to the Euro rivals is very good. Interior is spacious and luxurious with a great infotainment screen and layout. Two dislikes: 1) The stupid Newton-meters 350 badging blagh blagh. Get rid of that, Cadillac. No Caddy buyer gets it. Put the 2.0T or 2.7T badge back on it. That's what we want. And honestly you must have known Caddy buyers hate it, because the Platinum Ct6 Blackwing has 4.2TT on it, for 2020. So, it's an easy fix at minimal cost to the company. 2) The Keyfob. Honestly I loved the older one. It was high quality, felt high quality, but was thin, lightweight, and durable. This new one is clunky and heavy and misshapen (is it half of the Caddy emblem?) I feel like they changed it JUST to change it.
Looks alright, love the interior color with the wood but seems disappointing in many ways compared to the previous CTS. The 3rd gen CTS which has always been one of the most beautiful looking sedans in my eyes looks much more special both inside & out & kind of want one every time I see one. My boss bought a lightly used 2019 CTS 2.0t a couple years ago. I would never buy a Cadillac though cause they won't hold up well in the long run like a Lexus (I currently drive a 2016 GS350 F-Sport). My parents had a 2004 DeVille which they inherited from my grandfather after he passed away & had lots of non-stop problems for the 8 years they owned it. They eventually replaced it with a new 2017 Camry XLE now with over 50k miles & has been far more reliable as expected.
Seen the car in person yesterday and wow it's way nicer in person. I'm waiting for the CT5-V for sure.

GM engineers fined tuned the turn signal indicators with a special viscosity blinker fluid.
Why do I have a feeling that it is a reskinned Opel Insignia? Including that faux side window at rear.
going from a 2013 328xi to 2021 350T CT5, the driving experience feels pretty close, just a bit updated.
8 years too late, finally caught on to the coupe styling.
I would get that colour interior just because it’s called Maple Sugar!! Sounds delicious 😋!
Lol
😭...Love It!
I have always liked Cadillacs, but how do they compare with Lincoln?
Better since Cadillac at the very least still has 2 sedans Lincoln only sells suvs now
The front looks similar to peugeot 508 and the inside cluster looks outdated especially most brand offer digital instrument cluster now.
Daniel Hernandez when you’re shopping for a luxury vehicle, something that “works fine”
Ain’t gonna cut it. Even my 4 year old X5 has a fully digital gauge cluster.
Less to fix.
I like the updates to the interior. I want to see it in different color schemes. Looks much more fluid than older models.
The old CTS looked better inside a d out. This looks cheaper
The 3.0TT looks nice. Can’t wait for the V Blackwing
I should have said “upgraded V”
A more powerful version is coming, like the former CTS-V
A c is coming but dont add the damn blackwing name to it
A 2.7 l turbo i heard is available as well?? The motor from the Silverado and sierra.
@@markj2838 I've heard that will be in the CT4-V
@@TheSpectre2300ahh makes sense tks..
Hey guys. Will you ever be reviewing any Lincolns ? They are making some great quality models.
Yes we have started to! The first one we have reviewed recently was the 2020 Aviator
Now they are talking, this body looks much much more like a Cadillac.
A new chime? 🥺
Yup finally lol
Rashaud L. It’s not even that good. They should’ve just kept it.
@@TJC450 I actually kinda like it, sounds elegant. Way better than bong bong!😩. Atleast there trying
Rashaud L. It just reminds me of a recent Kia/ Hyundai. An end of an era I suppose.
TJC450 yep, 2000-2019 BONG BONG BONG BONG
Well done Guys. Very good video and info.
Best looking caddy👀
Is that a BMW Shifter?
Looks similar to the chevy Malibu. Does this share the same platform?
It shares nothing with a Malibu, it rides in the alpha2 platform
Tom Cat No the ct5 is rear wheel drive and all wheel drive.
Howdy, great review as always!😸😻😸
Its been the same story since the debut of the cts should bmw, mb be worried ? The answer is cadillac should be worried that after so many iterations they cant still get it
This car is awesome. I just don’t like how they cut off the actual window glass before the c pillar and put black piano behind it. The cabin would be less darker if the glass was extended beyond the c pillar. Btw nice review :)
I can’t stop looking at this car😍😍😍😍
I'm typically a Audi fan. This car really peaks my interest.
Does the platinum package give you a full leather dash?
I don't think so but it's hard to tell from Cadillacs press materials
Are they laser headlights?
No
Car Confections OMG still step behind the BMW or Audi.
And, yes, I do agree with Matt (mentioning the turn signal noise) that Cadillac should not have the same features as a Chevy.
not auto hold?
Best looking Cadillac sedan in YEARS
I have an 18 MKZ, not sure this will be better
I had a 2013 ATS - Got rid of it on late 2017
Reason #1 CUE entertainment inner screen cracked three times.
The CT5 has an updated infotainment system with a bigger screen, MUCH better camera, and way cooler and useable functions.
i love the way this one sounds.
Problem with GM is not so much design but reliability. So what’s the deal ?
Yeah the German brands should absolutely not be worried. Cadillac was never a threat to them and still isn’t lol
The CTSV and ATSV were definitely a threat to the Germans.
Cadillac should make a CT5-V that would be awesome. They already produced the CT6 V Blackwing it's a monster.
Hard to believe the CT6 has been discontinued. Shame!
Anybody else think it looks like an accord? Just puttin it out there.Great review.
Boys, you fucking killed it. Not much else for me to say. What an awesome car to come back to the channel and see as well, this one's been towards the top of the list to replace my Stinger and I look forward to finishing my review and having a better idea of a decision for this car!
Haha fantastic 👌😁
Is it available with a manual?
No
They don't need to worry about the base model, because that 2.0t is way underpowered in comparison to the prior 2.0t from the ATS and CTS. The V eg V Sport is great though
The rear end styling is not my favorite...could be better. I hope the paint job is improved from the past...It looks like it has.
Ct5 is a great addition to the Caddy line-up. I took a look at one for fun when I was getting my Ct6 serviced. Great size, nice performance, and the price compared to the Euro rivals is very good. Interior is spacious and luxurious with a great infotainment screen and layout.
Two dislikes:
1) The stupid Newton-meters 350 badging blagh blagh.
The two knobs underneath the screen look really out of place
Why does it looks like infinity now
Because its a new nissan Altima clone and infinity is nissans top of the line brand.
As long as it doesnt have a V8, audi, bmw and mercedes have nothing to worry about. I just wish it did come with a V8.
