I'm in my late 40s, and I have this almost exact car. I find it has more than enough power a sport feel to the ride especially if you use the driving modes, and it has big brimbo brakes which work very will in summer and winter driving. I also have winter tires.
Stunning! I love the fact that they resisted the urge to do a full digital display for the guages. It's a shame that these new sedans will be under appreciated. Thanks Nolan!
@@millhouse313 I would agree, when done correctly. Sadly more times than not, they are very one dimensional with cartoonish animations. Worst offenders, for me, is trace shadows that follow the tachometer or speedometer "needle". Just a clear, legible display is appealing to me. But, there are some that do it well. But then I'm getting on in years and probably set in my ways. 😉 You are definitely right though when it comes to being able to customize the display for your personal tastes. This is really nice. I like how they paid attention to detail with the styling and features location. Night time review is up next 😏 Good review friend.
Great review! Bought an XT4 Prem. Lux. w/ Midnight Sport package and love it! Have found it to be a fantastic vehicle despite some of the reviews. Cadillac did a great job on this vehicle too! I would wait for the Blackwing😍
I've also owned 3 CTS's, each generation, now in a 2018. I also have an XT5. If you like the fun factor of driving the CTS, you will lose it all with the XT5. But you gain utility. I like the last CTS design and interior better than the CT5 actually.
@@user-bz3et5gm7n I currently own a 2018 CTS and absolutely love it but after looking at this video I’m strongly considering purchasing a CT5, at first I really wasn’t a fan of the short rear end of sport back look, but now it’s starting to grow on me. The only gripe I have about my CTS is the lack of a volume knob or switch on the CUE system, which is corrected with CT5, the interior on the CTS and CT5 are nice and I think it’s a slight step up over the CTS. The only gripe about the CT5 sport is that it has the same stock engine and tune as the base model CT4, the 2.0 is a torquey engine, I think it should’ve been tuned specifically for the CT5 sport, for the sake of uniqueness and justification of it’s $55k price tag, but other than that I don’t mind the 2.0 in the CT5, I’ve driven the 2.0 in the XT4 and XT5 and it pretty much move those vehicles effortlessly.
Hey Nolan! Glad to see your still presenting vehicles in these uncertain times. I wonder how great those rubbery push buttom outside door releases will be in inclimate freezing weather and when you’re wearing gloves. $55K hmm
Thank ya sir! Yeah we had several weeks of not much going on. Still not normal but as long as we disinfect and distance I can take one out to video. After seeing this...is it really worth that much extra over the Impala? I don’t think so
Hi Nolan. Great review. The CT5 looks awesome, very aggressive, stealth mode for sure in black. Perhaps a bit too big for our UK roads but looks impressive. I still prefer normally aspirated engines but turbos are almost everywhere now. Seems effortless to drive though CVT sounded a bit droney. :-)
Thank you sir! I like the looks too. You’re right, it’s actually a pretty large sedan dimensionally, more so than it looks. I wish they still had a naturally aspirated engine for sure!
Ash Lo I’ve been having tons of problems with my car 😭 they’re good for a while but the more I’ve been driving it the more problems I’ve been experiencing 😭 and to add on certain parts to replace or fix are super expensive
If Acura can get 272hp from a 2 litre, then so should Cadillac (or get close to it). Whatever happened to the 2 litre w/ 260hp that was in the Saturn Sky/Pontiac Solstice 10+ years ago?
Agree 100%. The 2.0t in the 2020 Buick Regal Sportback and AWD gets you 250 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. But this is the "old" 2.0t, which was smoother than the previous 2.0t used in the Cobalt, Saturn Sky Redline, Pontiac Solstice GXP and Buick Regal GS (272 Hp in that 2013). Very disappointed in the newest 2.0t.
The outgoing CTS had the older 2.0T with 272hp, they made this new one which is significantly better on fuel but you're sacrificing quite a bit of power.

They killed CUE - fantastic, that deserves to be thrown overboard in the middle of the Pacific and never talked about again. But apparently they can't sell a car without an Achilles heel, and that transmission... oh boy. You can just HEAR how slow and sluggish it is compared to it's German competition which are either dual clutch - or - automatics from this century. I'm glad that the American Luxury segment is actually seeing some love. They've been underwhelming for far too long
