I was in Disbelief When I got Colon Cancer | JJ's Colorectal Cancer Story | The Patient Story

- Despite no known family history of cancer, JJ was diagnosed with colorectal cancer at only 27 years old. After brushing off abdominal pain for months, JJ went to the doctor. This led to an emergency CT scan and colonoscopy. He later found out his cancer was caused by Lynch syndrome, an inherited disorder that increases the risk of getting cancer.
In this conversation, JJ shares how only months after living a healthier lifestyle he was diagnosed with cancer, the surgical complications he endured and how he is now trying to break the stigma about colorectal cancer.

Stay strong!! I was diagnosed in 2021, had the same surgery and chemo but now going on 2 years being cancer free !!!
This gentleman is a hero.
To all cancer survivors, well done!
Prayers for you JJ and anyone else that has gone through anything like this. I’m 51 now and was also diagnosed with colon cancer in October of 2021 and had surgery then done the same chemo you did and after 6 months I was cancer free until October 2023 when I found out it came back but it went to my liver and had another surgery and in remission again. It’s been a horrible ride but positive thinking and good people around you can make a huge difference. I swear everyday is a blessing no matter what I’m doing or where I’m at I just take it all in. Laughter is medicine. God bless ✌🏼
Praying for you JJ. I have colorectal cancer stage 4 since 2019 and now I’m in remission the second time.
Hi Peter! Did you do anything specific to lead to your remission? Just curious b/c I am trying to get there myself. Thank you for any information you may be able to offer.
@@marygordon8994 second I did radiation call cyberknife, oral pill and chemotherapy. On April 13, 2023 the surgeon just removed the Ostomy bag. I feel like a normal person again with no pain or symptoms.
@Peter Lee Congratulations on having your ostomy bag removed!
I was diagnosed 2/2022. I am getting ready to consult with a cancer hospital to see if they have more treatment options available than the facility where I am currently receiving treatment. Prayerfully, more options are available to help me reach a place of remission as well.
@@marygordon8994 ok, radiation cyberknife, I didn’t feel no side effects. I did it for 3 days straight for 35 mins each and finished.
@Peter Lee Thank you for the information! I will inquire about this information you have shared with me during my upcoming consultation. Who knows, in addition to me changing what I eat, maybe these meds can help me as well. I pray your continued remission over this monster, my fellow co-warrior!
You are a true inspiration. I’m hoping you are doing well. Give us an update. Remember, don’t isolate. We care.
Praying for you Hun. God is able! You're an inspiration!!
What a super nice guy, wishing him good things and much love ❤️
What a legend ,I had emergency surgery march 2022 to remove 35mm cancer in my decending colon and 23 cm of that removed ,I had to deal with stoma bag and 12 rounds chemo ,unfortunately it has spread to my lungs and peritoneum, my journey with cancer begins again 2023 ,im strong im fit and im positive ,but im alone with stage 4 .thanks for your story jj
Praying you will be fine. I’m doing modified Gerson therapy.
@paulacristinapaluch5669 thanks ,I appreciate 🙏 your sincerity
Shane I think you’re a legend also♥️ thank you for being open and sharing your story
Your not alone, God will take you in you just have to confess that he is Lord and believe in your heart.
Your not alone bro.. Be strong we are all born to die one day
Good that he is talking openly now.
Thank heavens your mom pressured you to go the doctor. You are such an articulate young man. To be through all you have you have a pleasant demeanor. A true southern gentleman.
god bless you , i had stomach pain for 2days, then immediately i didn't feel right, then went to CT with contrast Imaging immediately all the organs were normal, then i felt happy.
Stay fighting!!!!
Wow, JJ- SO glad you got into the trial and doing better! Thank you so much for all the time you put into telling the story👍🙂
You are a very strong individual. Sending prayers 🙏 for a full recovery 😊❤.
I am 73 I would never go through chemo if I had cancer at my age. I don't know how these young people can do it. But they still have a lot of year ahead of them.
Seventy three is not old. Its older yes. But you can have baby more years left.
I with you I am 60. My son is stage 4. Corectal. I seen to many ppl go to h and back I will not go through that. My neighbor got cancer in her lymph and they said she could prolong she said no I want to live as long as she could. She was so happy on the go did everything she wanted. 6 months later she died. She said I would not go through chemo and that I seen it. I has the best 6 months so I b don't regret it.
I’ll keep you in my prayers. Wishing you the best.
Wow thanks for sharing. I also have Lynch syndrome and was diagnosed with stage 3b at the age of 30. Now 2 years post surgery and being investigated for liver lesions. Keep raising awareness.
I was diagnosed with stage 3B colon cancer almost two years ago. I dread going in for my scans as I always worry that it will spread to my liver as well
What were your symptoms if you don’t mind me asking?
@@rayddonovan2608what were your symptoms if you don’t mind me asking?
Stay strong BRO,YOU CAN AND WILL SURVIVE.
JJ - thank you for sharing the first part of your journey. You are an old soul with a tender heart. I deeply admire your courage and vulnerability to share such an important message about colorectal cancer. The stigma needs to end. Your story is going to help others open up. The more understanding and knowledge that is learned will help bring much more awareness to this type of cancer. I am holding you in my thoughts, heart, and prayers. Heartfelt healing hugs, many blessings, and loads of love are being sent your way. Take one small step at a time. You got this! 🦋👼🕯✨️🙏💙
Oh my gosh, who can't tell you are a sweetheart?!!!! I'm not going to gush and tell you I prayed for you because I haven't yet, but I promise you I will in a bit when I'm waking up with my coffee. Hugs to you!

Praying for you JJ from the U.K.
I really like you and your walk through this life. By watching your videos I think of my husband who has bad hips and the doctor he had was the most mean man to him. My husband is a Southerner originally so he didn’t say anything back to him. Ronnie wouldn’t say s-t if he had a mouthful but your spirit is invigorating and inspiring. I’m going to show Ronnie this video. Thank you for your help and support. We appreciate your help ✝️💖
I pray we hear from you again. Thank you for sharing your story. 🙏🏽
JJ’s segment 2 will be released on UA-cam this Friday, and will explain more of his story. Thank you so much watching ❤️

My take on this difficult story, GET IT CHECKED if something is hurting, affecting daily life etc.
2012 38y old 3a surgery/chemo Folfox . Still going, hit 50 next month. Stay strong and well. Thanks for sharing.
Great video, sad story, i hope he gets better!
You are just brave. Hats off to you.
Ive got stage 4 bowel cancer diagnoses at xmas. Had a stoma fitted 6th December tumour was blocking colon. Have metastasis on my liver. Had 3 CT scans and results have been great dr said better than they could have hoped. Hopefully got a few more years in me. They dont wanna risk operating when my chemo is going so well and when you operate it can often flare up somewhere else.
You all are so amazing thank you for sharing my story
Thank you sharing your story! My 30 year old son has told me he has been bleeding for 3 months so we are going to get him checked up.
I was the same, got a colonoscopy after watching all these videos, it was just in time. They found a big polyp that could have been worse if I had waited. It could also be hemorrhoids, good luck and blessings 🙏
blessings Michelle 💕
Praying for a healing for him amen

Hope and pray you are okay. You are doing a great service by explaining how all this happened. Of course, you are so young so you would not suspect colon cancer. May God bless you.
Canton NC is know for one thing. It is known for the smell. You drive past Canton on I-40 and you know when you are there when the smell from the mill hits you. Just an awful smell. It can’t be good for you.

And I was in 40’s lated and I’m in 50’s mid .but Stage 1 cancer .
Where are you now with your treatment and health?
You were really hardheady! Damn my Mamma would take he to the doctor over anything. The doctor led me to the place I am. Hell bro I'm sorry to her about all the Hell your going through.
No us older people are the ones that are getting old it's the younger one that are not. Old age is a privilege.
Dying young is a privilege - it allows people to avoid becoming homeless bc housing and healthcare are too expensive.
@@k9khodi363 OH ok I enjoyed my young years I was healthy into sports, hardly ever sick just minor colds, tonsils out.
@@bobs1356 I was sick from 20-24 bc of medication from chronic illnesses in childhood. It derailed my life. Did my best to recover but 20-30 years later and facing homelessness again after 9+ years of being housed. Also dealing with results of head injury and issues from the illness in my 20s. Having a terminal illness is much better.
I pray that he's doing well. The very last seconds of this did not sound like it was good.
Me too! I had the same treatment 😢😊
Wonder if JJ is doing ok.Does anyone know? Prayers to you JJ 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼☺️

What's the fda saying sbout all these young people with colon cancer?

To everyone who has colorectal cancer CRC. Trying to be less emotional and more practical because such an attitude can save lives. You need to know that pectin inhibits most cancers, especially CRC but works best without sugar and with ketogenic diet when the cancer is a Warburg effect type (70% of the solid tumors - most tumors do not breathe oxygen but use a more primitive energy path that ferments glucose and glutamine. Most cancers thrive on sugar. To block glutamine with berberine is possible, but will also affect the immune system). Sugar competes with pectin. So if you buy Luden's pectin lozenges, they have to be the sugar free version (available in some pharmacies). Pectin is especially useful for CRC with ketogenic diet, without simple carbs. Also, if your tumor does not respond to chemo due to loss of markers (if its DNA is unstable), in this case, the tumor starts responding to Fenbendazole (antiparasitic medicine used by vets). Taking vitamin D3 + Magnesium increases the odds of survival by 12%. IMHO, Fenbendazole is a good supplement in any case because when the cancer cells mutate, some will loose DNA stability and will become vulnerable to Fenbendazole. Both Fenbendazole and pectin lozenges are not magic bullets but they do help. Turmeric + black pepper, vitamin C and Aspirin 81mg may also be useful.

Man! Pretty big hit.
This was from 2015 - 2016. Sounds like the cancer had spread
You will make it son
I understand that this comment will upset some but in an effort to bring awareness towards some very bad people, the C19 shots are causing new and rebounding cancers. It's time that all of us started to fight back!!
This is not the forum for such a discussion. This young man did not mention anything about having a Covid vaccination. Maybe you can find support with like- minded individuals on a different forum.
Good to bring awareness about the cancers it is causing
@@vickieyoung7122 this is not the forum for such a discussion. There have been no proven studies to state that these vaccines cause cancer. It is an uninformed and reckless comment to make. Please find a platform/ forum, where you can share your theories and thoughts with like-minded individuals.
@@pianolady726 No forum is the wrong place to make comments about such an important matter and the studies are happening right now. Also, nobody said that the vaccines cause cancer, some experts are saying that they are exasperating cancers and who is looking for support? Bringing awareness to something that is being censored is not wrong.
@@RobertMcGuckin-ws6pe I don't even know how to respond to this. In your first comment about the covid vaccine, you explicitly said that you were trying to bring awareness to very bad people. What does that even mean? And you explicitly stated that the covid-19 vaccine is causing new and rebounding cancers. I am not trying to be difficult, but there are people on this platform who are sincerely interested in this young man's plight. And they don't come here to read conspiracy theories. They come here to encourage others.
Eating is the FIRST step to a bowel movement. The BM is the LAST step in eating. Everybody does it, don't understand why we can't talk about it!! People ask me how are you today, I answer, "Great! I took a perfect crap this morning!" I'm sick of talking about food.
