He is right above all Arirang alone.
This is the wrong performance of the song though. The other one is much more epic, has an orchestra, has more emotions. But I watch this, as I'm sure it's still great, as she always is.

Please forgive me for the sound quality during So Hyang's singing. I missed a step in the audio editing.
The video I'd uploaded for this week got blocked worldwide due to copyright and I had to hurry and create another video to make my Wednesday promise so I missed a step.
I usually edit out the bleed through of the computer audio (singing) to the mic I'm speaking in and I forgot to do that so when I mixed it to make my speaking louder it amplified that as well. That's the harsh sound you hear.
I hope the information I provide makes up for the sound quality.(-:
I'll be more careful to edit that out in future videos.

Just a tip for dealing with those blocks, especially since you pause a lot and doing that usually keeps you safe. A simple email to UA-cam will usually remove that for you fairly fast (2-3 days).

What others do to get past the copyright thing, is to play some, pause, comment about it, then continue, and repeat this. I think if it is not play from beginning to end, and has enough pauses in it they do not block them. The best versions will always have a chance to be blocked. The others are cell phone video's with horrible audio and shaky video.

I just saw your reaction and analysis of You Raise Me Up! Terrific! May even be better than this one! I love all of your comments on her vowel placements, and your obvious admiration of her searing emotion and arrangement. Did you know she had pneumonia when she sang that performance? Her doctors told her NOT to perform, but she went against their advice and did it anyway. I have had pneumonia, I don't know how she had any strength or was even able to BREATHE, let alone give a flawlessly EPIC performance like that.

@@MikeGoodrich It's not amazing to perform with pneumonia, it's dangerous :'( and no one should be advised to do that. And she luckily did of course not have pneumonia when she sang this. I don't know who made that up, but it's dangerous to share such rumors, there may be people who'd imitate what they heard :'(

So hyang one of my favorite female vocalists. Her performance of “ everyone” is beyond amazing. Hope you react to that. But I have a request that you react to her closest and best friend, “Park Ki Young”, I like Park Ki Young because they have about the same vocal range but Park Ki Young is a tad more versatile and can belt them with equal emotional impact and power in rock, pop, soul, jazz flamenco, and classical ( opera). A few of my favorites that are worthy of reacting to: ( either privately or publicly)

Anya’s Version is the standard but sung more as a ballad but Park Ki Young opera style takes you to church and beyond.

But please don’t judge a vocalist by the number of requests you receive-altho your fans are usually right.
But I’m a professional singer and my singing friends unanimously agree that both So Hyang and Park Ki Young are not only world class vocalists but equal in talent.
What I’m trying to say is I believe Park Ki Young deserves far more reactions and I promise you and your subscribers who love So Hyang ( and I am among them) that you won’t be disappointed listening to a Park Ki Young song. They are both about the same age ( early 40s but look amazing for their age!) and the closest and best of friends. Please start your Park Ki Young Journey with “ Nella Fantasia” ( click first vid 4:08 duration)

Great reaction this koreans tv shows are very strict i think that one way to avoid Copyright issues in this tv shows is doing something with the video because the audio is safe.

This particular performance is actually on the "weaker" side for Sohyang, good as it is. She had done better performances of this similar song, and the climaxes are always fun and awe inspiring. Most of korean TV videos are tend to be blocked. To avoid this, pausing the original video( and comment) at least once every 30 seconds will be ok. (like this video).

Am not an expert in musical notes, but i think there's one more key when you said "A".. from here 8:13-14.. One more higher note when you hit your piano key on 8:18 to 8:19. Which you can hear on 10:14 to 16 if its A, then definitely there's one more key higher. ☺ Also if you want to go back or forward at least 10 secs on the vid.. just use your Left and Arrow keys. :-)

Sorry to hear you got blocked. Never use MBC. KBS is okay most of the times if you are pausing but 'You Raise me Up' from Immortal Songs 2 seems to get hit hard for some reason. A lot of people find this song gets blocked, while others don't. Maybe because you have more subs.

Also, she is a cancer survivor and has poor health, so you want to avoid any clips where she looks ill and tired.

Sohyang is a singer who is like wine - gets better by years and by pratice since she is a very hard working woman who practiced really hard!

Frankly, this performance is not fully up to So-Hyang's standards when she is on form. Her problem is that she is ill so much of the time, preventing her from being where she obviously expects to be. When she is on form, however, she is about as good as it gets.

hey mike, i heard you were having some issues with CW strikes & so hyang reactions, & unfortunately that seems to be an issue for many on here.
i've seen a lot of "remedies" for this--usually involving manipulation of the video (such as a filter that lightens the image up quite a bit, but still allows you to see so hyang), as well as cutting out the company's logos, etc., from the borders.
many also stream the video from a secondary site, but i'm not as well versed about all that. i'm also confident that there must be some fan accounts that don't mind the videos being used, such as gloria wu's channel does for many dimash videos.

Completely different singers. The only things they have in common is that they are great and both from Asia (even though Dimash is from a Eurasian country to be more precise). Not even the same genre.
Sohyang is a gospel singer and Dimash sings in several different genres but none of them is gospel (most is classical crossover).
Sohyang is especially known for her powerful high belts, she's a belter. She belts more than any other singer I know... maybe Lara Fabian belts as much, but she doesn't and can't belt that high. Dimash is rather known for his mix of different styles, his range and his vocal acrobatics (because of his strong vocal control, breath control and agility)
Unfortunately you chose the wrong performance, the audio is horrible here, the one from Immortal Songs 2 is the best with full orchestra live.

@@MikeGoodrich For Nightwish if you pause the video the only problematic one I have seen for copyright is The Poet and the Pendulum, I think because some rapper sampled it and claims copyright on it.
