    Skhynix make some absolute trash memory. So much so that I actually shake or get depressed when I take a cooler off a graphics card and see this memory new or old stock.
    In my experience there memory will always fail after time especially if mining on a card. Most gamers won't notice due to just gaming but if you do any type of rendering or mining you already know what I'm on about 😂.
    My new 7900xtx is already down from 2700mhz to 2650mhz and all I have done is light gaming. Manufacturers know this and buy there memory because it's cheap you will always get most cards especially 1st 2nd revision cards with this cheap crap product.
    All my mining cards are fine now that I have rma'ed and received Samsung memory on the replacement not even one card has skipped a beat after two years of mining. Now that is ridiculously impressive.
    Sample size 43 cards!!!

      Temps for preheaters is at 118c and hot air is at 420c with 60% airflow for lead free solder. And for leaded solder the preheater is the same but the hot air is at 350c with 60% airflow.

    Hey I also have Asus Tuf 3060ti Gddr6 oc v2!! I've purchased this in oct 2022! And i checked this in gpu z that it has hynix but is this issue happens only with old version of 3060ti??
    Like I've v2 of tuf oc??

      It happens to all 3060Ti with SK Hynix with the code "X005". On 3060Ti's all SK Hynix memory modules come with X005. If your card is using SK Hynix then it is using X005. As long as it is working fine the card will work. There will come a day when the errors will crop up and then all 8 memories will have to be replaced with Micron or Samsung. This is not a brand specific issue but with all brands using this memory module

    What’s the temperature for top and bottom heat? How much air speed and approximately how long to heat the chip before you can take it off the board?

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  6 місяців тому

      For the preheat on the mat the temp is at 118°C and hot air is at 420°C at 60% air flow on my atten hot air station while removing and installing unleaded solder. When installing leaded solder the preheat temp on the mat is the same at 118°C and the hot air is at 360°C with 60% air flow. There is no time as to how long you have to heat the board. I tap it gently with my tweezers to check if the solder has melted and if the chip is moving. Once it's moving upon tapping I remove it.

      No I use a different machine for core removal. Watch this video. I have the machine displayed here.

    what type of flux you use , and solder balls and how much heat you apply from hot air and pre heat bed for chips , thank you

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  8 місяців тому

      Solder balls are leaded. I use mechanic AD 559 flux. When installing I use preheater at 115 and hot air at 350c while installing. And 420c for lead free chip removal with air at 60%. I have shown this in this video ua-cam.com/video/NUcRiPjry40/v-deo.html

    Is there is any possibility of upgrading rtx 3060 ti 8gb vram to 16 vgam changing memory chips to 2 gb of 8 instead of 1 gb of 8

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  8 місяців тому

      No it is not possible as this card there was no BIOS designed for 16gb modules. Even if we install 2gb modules it will give errors on all memory. BIOS is required for 16gb modules.

    I have a Pallit 3060 ti with hynix memmory, my RMA was denied. I am expiriencing green artefacts, the pc start but randomly shuts off, and sometimes when restart it makes beeping sounds and shuts off again. Is it the 005 memory or the core? is there a way know, with these symptoms?

    Hi Frazier! Quick question: did you have to tinker with the straps in order to go from Hynix to Samsung or was it not necessary with these cards?

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes I changed the straps on both cards from Hynix to samsung. It's there in the video as well.

    i heard that when a GPU has Hynix or Micron memory its necessary that all VRAM chips need to be replaced. Is it still like this or was it in the older cards only ?

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  8 місяців тому

      For Micron it was the 2018 batch. That mainly came in the RTX 20 series cards. That issue was solved by Micron in the 2019 batches of chips manufactured. SK Hynix it's the X005 that is known to have this problem. Hynix has other batches which do not have this problem.

      @@GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql i had a 1060 6gb with Hynix and when i ran MATS it showed 2 chips with write errors but the other chips also had 20 or so errors does that mean they all went bad or its the faulty ones that make the other ones seem problematic ?

    • @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql
      @GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql  8 місяців тому

      I would recommend to replace the 2 faulty ones and then run the test again. If the others are still showing faulty possibilities are the issue is with the core. GTX 1060 uses GDDR5. There was no known issue with Hynix with GDDR5.
