On the 3060ti, some Hynix memory actually runs better with less voltage. Unfortunately this would require modifying the hardware. This might be the case here, the voltage is killing the modules.

I have the same Zotac 3060ti and it's a pretty good card, my card does 2100Mhz core and 8500Mhz on the memory, got lucky Samsung memory on my card, wow didn't think it was heavy enough to need a GPU support but looks like it does, it's in my secondary PC that I rarely use so will pull it out for now. I also have the Zotac 3070 and used it in my main PC for a year, after a few month I did notice it sagging a bit so got a GPU support bracket.
I'm currently on a 9900k and 6800xt and don't feel any need to upgrade anytime soon.

When it comes to games it's very much a mixed bag. There are games that will make a 4090 cry at 720p upscaled to 1080p and you're lucky to get 30-40 FPS (like Jedi Survivor at launch.)
I'd say most people get 4090 for either high refresh 1440p or 4K though, because a 3060 Ti isn't gonna cut it there unless you're playing 10 year old games.

It's been many years since I last upgraded my PC - which I did about a month ago. 13600K + 4070ti. I settled on this specifically because I wanted to experience playable path tracing at 1440p for CP2077 playing it for the first time. I can tell you I wish I had a 4080 or faster because it's so intensive, but it's playable with FG on (but I have to live with frame tearing because vsync makes it a laggy mess).
Anyway, I fear CP + ray reconstruction may have ruined all other first-person games for me forever, because even with the weird ghosting issues AI PT + RR brings, the lighting is just.... it's *chef's kiss*. Turning it off makes even vanilla ultra RT look meh and I can't go back :(

    Hi Tony!
Excellent work, I'm glad you repaired another GPU and made the customer happy.
I have to say, you have a God given talent :)
@northwestrepair When it comes to your question at the end of this video, I think it's all related to marketing.
I think the average gamer does not need such power like RTX 4090 which is way too expensive.
The only exception is when you want to play in 4K, then you have to consider sth between 3080 and 4090.
Another thing is that there is also a crazy trend in PC gaming industry to have the most powerful PC as you can and companies do see that trend so they tend to convince customers to buy their products even though the customers don't need them. But the reality is that the only benefit you can get is a high score in GPU benchmark test. So before you buy sth, you have to ask yourself do you really need such power.
For my rig, I use RTX 4070 cause I play in 1440p and for me there is no better card to play, especially it has enough power, it's packet with new technologies, it draws 200W only, it's relatively cheap and the great thing is that it uses 8-pin power connector so I don't need to bother about 12VHPWR connector nightmare. I noticed this GPU is quite underrated.
Btw, I think nowadays all GPUs are still too expensive but the prices are a bit lower than a few months ago but yet too high.
    See you :)

I'm not being a jerk. I own a strix oc 4090 and there are so many reasons a 4090 is a great card. If you play the new games coming out. Lots of games won't even launch as games are developed. The games won't launch or run horribly. Plus the 4090 is not just for playing games. Its your own AI engine. There are so many reasons after using everything from a 1080 to my 4090.. Its night and day. I'm not bragging about this. I'm just telling the truth in the results of all the testing I've done. No AMD card or any other brands of 4090 don't come close 5o the Asus strix oc 24gig 4090. I'm saying 5hat with the knowledge that 8 always hated Asus. crasy. The games that are being developed that no other cards can ever utilize. Like DLLS3 now there coming out with 3.1 or maybe v3.5 the 4090 is future proof. We won't see the full potential of the higher end 4090s for probably the next 4 years. That's pretty good when a computer mainly last 6 to 8 years.

You can certainly find a bunch of gamers who will swear you need 200 fps - as a minimum!
Even though they wont notice any difference until they see the displayed fps value.
Like those HiFi enthusiast who discuss the thickness of gold layer on the connectors for best possible sound.
Or the old schoolyard quarrels : my father is stronger than yours ...

16:00 because 1440p and 4K resolutions, high frame rate above 100 fps. If people have the money to buy stuff like the 4090 for gaming, Nvidia will be more than happy to make them :) I "only" have a 4070 and it drops bellow 60 fps in games like Warhammer III or DCS World with maxed out details in 1440p.

I name the price roughly based on it's value which is changing all the time.

The FpS crowd kinda reminds me of the audiophile crowd - wanking over statistics and numbers instead of what your nervous system is actually telling you. But that being said, I have a 4070ti and at 1440p playing CP2077 with all the path tracing you can shake a stick at - I do wish I had something faster.

I have a 3060ti tuf Asus, months ago I had around 120 fps on re4 remake but now I tested and it's around 70 or 80, some games I still get the same but newer games run kinda bad, not sure if gpu is damaged or something wrong with psu, anyone ever ran into something similar?

Then technically we don't even need more than 30fps 😅 The thing with fps is not only the visible stuff. The whole game runs smoother with higher fts count, doesn't lag, the reaction time is much better for gaming. 🙂
