What’s the movie The Break-Up about?
Pushed to the brink after yet another "Why can't you do this one little thing for me?" domestic dispute, art dealer Brooke Meyer (Jennifer Aniston from Friends and Just Go With It) decides to break up with her fiancé Gary Grobowski (Vince Vaughn from Rudy and Couples Retreat), a tour guide in Chicago. Yet neither of them is willing to move out of the apartment they share, and the only solution is to continue living under the same roof as enemy co-tenants until one of them gives in. What follows is a series of tactics, sometimes suggested by old friends of the couple, sometimes by confidants and sometimes even by total strangers, designed to undermine the opponent. But somewhere between the pool table in the living room, the dirty laundry piled up in the kitchen closet, and the games being watched at full volume in the middle of the night, Brooke gradually realizes that what she's fighting for isn't so much the apartment as it is Gary. In an unexpected twist, Gary changes, but isn't it already too late?

Do you not know how real relationships work? This movie shows more of what a true break up is actually like. Nothing in this movie is abuse never has been. & 18 years later these same type of couples have these struggles!!!

Vince Vaughn was a hottie when he was in thin in Swingers. Maybe he was on his 'best behaviour' and in good shape when they got together but gradually stopped putting in any effort into looking after himself or her when he got more comfortable in the relationship.
Looks like a very sad movie. Their problem is they talk too much to each other. There is way too much unfinished business that should be left unfinished for everyone’s sanity. I know a lot of people will say ‘oh but you need to talk so you can learn and not repeat mistakes.’ I recommend doing it on your own or with a therapist. This is just pointless

i agree with the guy character. i think ideally there should be marital room and then there's man's cave and woman's cave. that cave could be your office room and then put some sofa there or whatever you like.
i personally not a fan of sharing room except of course if you have a spouse. i rather have tiny room than big room shared with a friend or even sister.
i want my own space. i can relax better and recover better especially when i'm bothered by for instance mental health issues.
if i want to bond with a SO or anyone then i will approach him/her.
