What’s the movie The Break-Up about?
Pushed to the brink after yet another "Why can't you do this one little thing for me?" domestic dispute, art dealer Brooke Meyer (Jennifer Aniston from Friends and Just Go With It) decides to break up with her fiancé Gary Grobowski (Vince Vaughn from Rudy and Couples Retreat), a tour guide in Chicago. Yet neither of them is willing to move out of the apartment they share, and the only solution is to continue living under the same roof as enemy co-tenants until one of them gives in. What follows is a series of tactics, sometimes suggested by old friends of the couple, sometimes by confidants and sometimes even by total strangers, designed to undermine the opponent. But somewhere between the pool table in the living room, the dirty laundry piled up in the kitchen closet, and the games being watched at full volume in the middle of the night, Brooke gradually realizes that what she's fighting for isn't so much the apartment as it is Gary. In an unexpected twist, Gary changes, but isn't it already too late?

Remember watching this movie when I was a teenager , I found him quite adorable, as an adult I think he is such a waste of time and energy, he is always fishing for the spotlight, laughs, he is entitled and unaware, and plays way too much video games, it comes a time in a mature woman's life that having the support of a partner becomes the core of the relationship, he can't do that for her, he thinks that because he pays the bills even when she also works, he has done everything and can't be bothered with anything else, you can't ask him to stay present emotionally that is why he doesn't understand why she is upset , he is unaware of his lack of attention towards her.
You know it's a movie, right? Although I bet Vinve Vaughn is pretty close to that character in real life

Because it doesn't, he is playing a person and is actually very close to men I have known, I actually dated a similar person , we never lived together, one of the things that is just like him is the lack of awareness, we stayed as friends because as the character he is very likable as a friend.
