Gary and Brooke are playing a pictionary game with their friends and of course they begin to fight when Gary cannot guess what Brooke is drawing. Their friend and realtor Mark (Jason Bateman from Identity Thief and Couples Retreat) tries later to help them figure things out but both Gary and Brooke definitely want to separate. Mark advises them to sell the condo if they cannot live together anymore.

What’s the movie The Break-Up about?
Pushed to the brink after yet another "Why can't you do this one little thing for me?" domestic dispute, art dealer Brooke Meyer (Jennifer Aniston from Friends and Just Go With It) decides to break up with her fiancé Gary Grobowski (Vince Vaughn from Rudy and Couples Retreat), a tour guide in Chicago. Yet neither of them is willing to move out of the apartment they share, and the only solution is to continue living under the same roof as enemy co-tenants until one of them gives in. What follows is a series of tactics, sometimes suggested by old friends of the couple, sometimes by confidants and sometimes even by total strangers, designed to undermine the opponent. But somewhere between the pool table in the living room, the dirty laundry piled up in the kitchen closet, and the games being watched at full volume in the middle of the night, Brooke gradually realizes that what she's fighting for isn't so much the apartment as it is Gary. In an unexpected twist, Gary changes, but isn't it already too late?

Saw this in the theater, bought the DVD, still watch it every time it comes on cable. Not my normal movie to fawn over, but something about it really sticks with me. Jennifer was excellent.

The point of the movie was that they both could been better to each other it was both of their faults.

Vince Vaughn's selfishness really shines through with the chips.
This fight is hilarious to watch, though not so much for their party guests! They both have so much pent-up anger waiting to spill out with the slightest trigger.
I SO FRIKKING DARN agree. I LOVE how the Next scene has Just Gary and Brooke and the other Guy, Mark. Sitting in front of em Talking to em. as its SO DARN DAMN OBVIOUS all the other's Left as they could Not take it anymore. As im pretty sure the game nights they had before their Break-Up were VERY FUN and VERY enjoyable. But now, as Gary and Brooke were Pretty much ALWAYS Trying to Spite 1-Another, It was affecting every1 else. Like, there was Junk ALL Over and Dirty clothes and BARELY any food. Brooke and Gary, their stupid Fight they cant seem to settle in a civil way By just talking stuff over, its Hurting every1 else. As their Guest's came There for Fun. and Yet, everything at that game night Party is PRETTY SHITTY Cause Brooke and Gary ONLY Are Seething with anger at 1-another and there SO Determined to be Right and Make the other 1 upset and Regret Breaking up with 1-another. and its Making them Ruin The other's chances for a Good Time.
I ESPECIALLY LOVE when Mark says, "Cheese and Rice, you guys are Gonna KILL each Other!" That was Like a Nice Kind way of saying, "Jeez! Can you 2 PLEASE SHUT UP! GOD! You 2 CANT Go for 9 seconds without Getting into some Long stupid miserable Fight..."

Not even good looking or funny as he think he is, he loves the sound of his own voice and feels she should be grateful and satisfied just because he works and pays most of the bills, even when she makes money too. She should've run way sooner.

I haven't watched the movie, but the man seems to be awful. Grabbing something and throwing it in a rage eventually grows into bigger violence. Let alone his anger about insignificant things

The fight is hilarious until it isn't. Because, if you look at it from the perspective of the guests, this is the point where you know there's no recovery in this relationship. I've been in this kind of situation with friends, and it got ugly.

It's pictionary. The teams take turns where one player draws clues for a secret word or phrase and the rest of their team has to guess it within a certain amount of time.

Game nights are awesome and fun, and a great doorway to intimacy betwen healthy couples.
Its a great communal activity.
