I find it kinda funny that throughout the story Xarkira focuses so much on Quil as if he is like her nemesis, meanwhile Lucius has consistently had the best "Fuck you Xarkira" moments in almost every encounter they've had with her
It just occurred to me that not only has Aerois spanned all three of the High Rollers' locations, but by the time we reach the finale, it will have seen the end of all of them. It started in YogTowers, ran all the way through the remote games and will be closing out their current studio. Of course, it was also Rhi's first game with them and the first one that Tom started with them. It's been a very transitional campaign.

I believe Mark was thinking of it as being like Dispell and Counterspell. Xarkira wouldn't have actually made that mistake so listening to everything in that fallout was aggravating. The only other way it would work was ruling that Power Words meet the definition of deity and artifact level. If everybody hadn't been shook by the ramifications they might have thought better of it and pointed out Mark's mistake. But since everything worked out no harm, no foul. I just hope it gets caught and Lucius and Quill get there resources, which they shouldn't have needed to spend, refunded.

It is one hundred percent on the player at that moment to know what the spell they just cast does, but Tom has just about the worst track record of only reading parts of his spells or, at the very least, only retaining fragments of them. Moments after that exchange, he points out how Siaska's ability would still effect him, since its created by a deity, but I would guess he didn't read the paragraph that specifically mentions spell effects can't target a creature within the field.
A great start to the battle royale we've been waiting for, interspersed with Mark Mechanics of course. So enjoyable I think everyone can handwave the PWK-counterspell vs. anti-magic field morass as it was still toe-curlingly tense. Especially in a realm of dead meaning dead...

I had the weirdest dream about High rollers were they all multiclasses into weird things with new art. Sentry was like a druid lady but she used flesh instead of plants and stuff. Nova was like a weird special ops character with the black suit and night vison goggles. Quill became some sort of robot that looked nothing like him and kinda looked like a dragon for some reason. Alia became a drider and Lucius became a pink caterpillar with butterflies wings but his face was still his own face? I will be honest I have no idea what was going on.
Does it seem to others that 90% of what is going on is coming from Hadar's side ? Heroes need to have the space to be heroic................well, it WAS that way until Lucius's mega-strike. Players just beginning to get a grip at the end. Xarkira (surely the estranged daughter of the BG1 legend Xzar)...............if she bursts out with a "Stop touching me" or "Mommy I don't feel so good", I may well suffer an extended coughing fit. PS Stayed up until 3.10am to see right to the end of this episode.................being retired means you can retire any time you want.

Mark has dm'ed the last 40 encounters EXACTLY like a 10 year old playing Warhammer against his grandparents and an Uncle. He gets all the cool units, he rolls a million dice and decimates their awful units, if they disagree or push back, he rules hammers them. Then he lets them beg for forgives for daring to challenge a Pokemon master.

Dnd and most computer games are built on players do high damage and have low hp, enemies low damage but high hp. All of the high level encounters mark has done are the opposite. Making the last 40 episodes of combat unwatchable for me. Ever fight is enemy does mega damage to the "weakest" party members, then mark has to throws in "NPC is hero mechanics" to stop a party wipe. He starts every combat like he is an 8 year old, playing Warhammer against an uncle who has never played the game. Mark you are not playing Warhammer against 5 people.

Genuine mechanical question not a critique, was the Counterspell actually needed since Quil had an anti-magic field around him?
RAW, _antimagic field_ would have prevented _power word kill_ from hitting Quill, no need for _counterspell_ or Quill's portent roll.
