Spongebob is one of the few translated shows I actually enjoyed and still enjoy in it's translated state today. The Dutch dub was so iconic and well done and resides on a similar pedestal here as I feel like it does in English speaking countries.
listen to the serbian dub of it and compare it to the original american voice,it is very off and yet i am more used to the serbian dub as that's what i watched as a kid
I watch the NL dub of spongebob all the time to help with learning Dutch 😄the voiceactors really captured the original spirit of the characters well, I love it as much as the original
SpongeBob original Indonesian dubber from it first aired in 2002 is the most iconic and beloved voice actor/actress in the country. Over the years SpongeBob dub lineup often changed due to various reason. The voice actor also have presence on UA-cam (where they reenact some SpongeBob scene with their voice) that most of the comment asking when they're gonna be back voicing SpongeBob again. One thing I kinda like about Spongebob looking back was how optimistic he was and how he took pride in a job that most people would hate. I know part of it is a joke, but it actually is a pretty valuable life lesson. At the end of the day, somebody has to take one of the not so great jobs, and chances are it's probably going to be you, so you might as well try and make the best of things.
The first three seasons of Spongebob and the movie all hold a special place in my heart. It's hard for me to pick favorites as almost all of them held something of value.
I guess the one that kind of sticks out the most for me would be "Could You Spare A Dime?". It's kind of hard to describe, but the scenario in that episode hits a bit close to home for me in a lot of ways and it's kind of cathartic to watch.
It's kind of crazy how much something like Spongebob has made the impact it did with a lot of people, including myself. It's kind of a shame that it seems to have lost its way, much like The Simpsons have for the past god knows how many years. But I'll always remember the good times.

There are a lot of Spongebob episodes I watched that I thought were fever dreams. I think that was the Squid on Strike episode and I never heard anyone anyone talk about it.

1999 - 2003 Golden years of Spongebob.
2004 is apart of it too. Season 3 and the movie was still apart of that year

I went through a phase where I delved Into the science and philosophy of spongebob. One wall in my basement was coated in pages upon pages dissecting and studying the word “wumbo”. I was 12.
What did your research lead you to discover?
Wumbology: The study of wumbo
Aasim You know how Patrick said “you’ve got it set to M for Mini, when it should be set to W for Wumbo”. If you rearrange the letters in WUMBO, putting the M at the beginning, the word you get is MOWUB. Probounced Moh-wuhb. This is the same as the Biblical Moab, the only difference being spelling.
Moab was a grandson of Lot. Lot’s daughters trick Lot into fathering their children while he was drunk. The older daughter had Moab, and the younger daughter had Ammon.
I considered that Patrick is referring to Moab as the said “Mini”. Wumbo would thus be Ammon.
Patrick is asking Spongebob to discontinue using the belt of Mermaid Man in the Moab setting. He says Spongebob should try Ammon. See, Mermaid man was “a normal man who was drowning but was rescued by mermaids and then became Mermaid Man”. We can infer that Mermaid Man knew of the Bible and of this story. After all, isn’t it likely that such a man that travels the ocean would also travel the world, and be interested in archeology?
Mermaid Man was trying to find the remains of the nations of the Moabites and the Ammonites before he drowns and became a superhero.
That’s as far as a got, since I stopped being obsessed with Soongebob and switched to My Little Pony in 2011

The character of SpongeBob is relatable to everyone. He's decent and fun loving, he works, he's a student, he worries, he makes mistakes, he acts silly, he suffers consequences, he wants to do well, and he enjoys order and rules. His appeal lies in his upbeat personality and his boundless determination. Sometimes he gets scared or sad but so do we all. The show was so good that it could have been done like a sitcom, with just one story in a 22 minute chunk instead of two smaller tales (I know, they did some of them that way). Another thing I enjoy about it and that I think makes it extraordinary is that sometimes it just goes "weird" for a moment or two ... or dark. Kids enjoy that, and adults do too. But the show rarely got too gross or distasteful (like Ren and Stimpy often did, though I still like that series-- but in a different way). Bottom line is we see ourselves in SpongeBob; he's like a mirror showing our flaws along with some of our best qualities.
