It seems entirely possible that AI tools that completely change the way we think about editing will exist within 10 years, automating things that today require an enormous amount of time, skill, and even talent.

Think of it like this: you ask someone a question and they read every single Google result in seconds, then either summarize it clearly for you OR they create what it is you are asking for. It’s value only comes in the questions or “prompts” that you give it.
What's coming (and what I'm looking forward to) are AI systems that will mimic our own editing style. We'll eventually just feed it raw footage and say something like, "Give me an approximately 3 minute video with theme(s) of (fill-in-the-blank) that makes me feel inspired." And the AI will quickly spit out 3 excellent options to choose from. It's going to make the workflow much easier, and allow us to create more content.
