The same with me! I bought some course on some platform that is over 10 hours of soft speeches... I wonder why they do so. All what most of us want is just the basic introduction and some functional knowledge. No one has time to listen to lectures for hours on-end.
Sam Oystein no-one needs soft speeches... I'd listen to o lectures all day and night if they were giving me pure, easy to understand knowledge in a nice format

Best 30 minutes on getting started in Premiere ever! You nailed it when you said the best way to learn is to just do it. Thanks to you, I feel like I can jump in now. Be blessed!
Great tutorial! 1 note for beginners, you can centre titles a lot easier if you go to the graphics tab and to align and transform. From there you can auto centre both vertically and horizontally. That way there's no guessing where the middle is!
Check it out: there's a reason he's the first (or one of the select few). Each to their own. If you prefer Windows that's okay but recommending that someone switch platforms (after potentially just buying a Mac) without knowing *anything* about their own requirements or preferences seems particularly silly. Afterall, even with screen recording software running you'd have to use a particularly old Mac to edit video with the amount of lag we see during this basic tutorial (when adjusting a clip's scale, for example).
You maybe right... but to his defense... there are more biased Mac fans out here that Windows fans... Mac owners won't be swayed by his comments because Apple users in general are obsessed with anything Apple. To be fair I have been biased towards Windows since Windows98 lmao
Record216 Your bias (preference) is okay, of course. Choice is healthy. Blindly advocating switching to Windows on the other hand is not okay, especially when a person might be highly impressionable (I.e. watching a video aimed at beginners produced by somebody who, at least on face value, knows what he's talking about). To those people, if you're reading, please don't feel like there is any legitimate reason to switch to Windows for video editing. Premiere Pro runs just fine on both platforms.
I agree with everything you say... except replace all your references to "Windows" with the world "Apple or Mac"... People come to this channel because they care what he thinks... its not blind choice. If the man says Windows is better they understand that its his point of view and my point is that there are millions of videos online that with say the same or the opposite. You have the choice to either like what he says or not. In the end his oppinions will not steer anyone the wrong way because his knowledge on the subject of videography is credible and "a way to get good video"
I COMPLETELY agree with Daniel. I've watched numerous (more than 20) videos regarding basic Premiere editing and yours is the first that was easy to understand. I just kept shaking my head and smiling wondering why I couldn't have come across this presentation a year ago as it would have saved me so much time and frustration. Anyway, I have one item to add and I learned this from an Adobe customer service rep. He told me to save the project with a sequential suffix (a, b, c, d, e and so on) as I created the video in the event my file became corrupted (corrupt?) or my computer went down unexpectedly. It also allows for the ability to go back to previous versions of the project and begin working for any reason at any point. Just thought that would help anyone who is reading save on future frustration. All in all...EXCELLENT JOB! Many thanks and keep up the great work!

@@linztaylor5567 I think what he was getting at was that you need to decide where you want to spend your time and consider the the value of the time spent verses outcome. He is assuming you're going to waste a lot of time learning premier and not get good enough results considering time taken away from other key elements of your projects. Worth considering. but even if you decide to hire an editor, at least with your efforts to learn, you'll better understand what to ask for and what your editors limitations are... and maybe you do have the time and the drive to get better results than explaining what you want to an editor. wow thanks so much, I've been using Filmora last few years because it was one off price of like 60 euro but watching Adobe Premiere I cant believe how easy things are and the options available. 20 euro a month is a lot if your not earning money yet but Filmora Takes ages for me to do simple edits you do in a sec and than I have to wait ages for each effect I throw in and than pre render every time just to edit with audio in sync Nightmare haha Just Subbed to your Channel ;)
You have such a clear and very very positive vibes in your videos. I have seen many youtubers make tutorials, as if we already know the programme, but you explained it so well :) You got yourself a subscriber!
I know I'm very late to your comment section, but I've just picked up the desire to learn editing. I've watched a half dozen videos on the subject so far and must say that yours is the most informative. Fantastic job! And thank you.
Thank you for a concise and clear video. I've tried a few times to use Premiere Pro and had to go back to editing with my Iphone. I still find it incredible that I can do that and come out with a reasonable video. But I'm going blind trying to do it on a small screen.
Wow great video guys, you really explained it clearly, I've previously just dipped in and out of Premiere when I've had to use it - mainly for some quick video needed in a hurry, but this adds a ton of useful information. A tip for anyone who wants to follow this really slow (like I did!). #1: Mute the sound. #2: go to settings - add captions #3: Set playback speed to 0.5 or 0.25 #4:Hover over space bar to pause /continue. I find captions really help absorb information.
Great video - I've had Premier included in my CC subscription for years and wanted to jump across to Premier for my video editing for a while now... Unbelievably you did just as promised - everything you need to start editing content in 30mins. Good job Josh, very easy to follow. Creating a concise but comprehensive video is an artform.
Thank you. I have searched through many start-up premiere videos and THIS one worked for me. Finally, exhaling into the learning curve now. You are a very clear instructor.
Thanks guys! Super helpful! I'm a teacher, trying to music interesting for our kids and started using things like the creative studio to enhance online teaching. I'm having trouble exporting my video for some reason- it's not showing the video at export - and where I put the in and out. I noticed your video shows the footage, and mine doesn't. Do you know what I missed?
Thanks for the tutorial, it was the first non frustrating video I’ve seen. It was well done and helped me out. Other tutorials were outdated and my screen didn’t match theirs. It was also important to actually zoom in on icons so people can see what they look like rather than guessing. Thanks again!

I look forward to a video on keyframing, keying, and using adjustment layers if you got em'. I'm going to check your library for this now!
HILLSONG YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS also very great, informative video! Very clear! Thank-you!
30mins was worth watching! I previously watched another tutorial video only in 20mins but I'm quite confused after watching it. But Kudos to both of you! I think I have understood every bit of this tutorial in the most basic sense as a beginner.
thanks so much you have actually made my day
L
I have a test about this software tomorrow and out of all the tutorials that I've watched, this one was the most effective one in teaching me in a less amount of time, hopefully I'll do well! thanks guys!
Do tutorial on editing music video (FULL) A to Z
Good teacher. You broke it down in quadrants and then elaborate on each quadrants individual features. THIS is good translating thanks!
wow thanks so much, I've been using Filmora last few years because it was one off price of like 60 euro
but watching Adobe Premiere I cant believe how easy things are and the options available.
20 euro a month is a lot if your not earning money yet but Filmora Takes ages for me to do simple edits you do in a sec and
than I have to wait ages for each effect I throw in and than pre render every time just to edit with audio in sync
Nightmare haha
Just Subbed to your Channel ;)
Dude filmora is the most simplest and easiest editor ever Premier pro is difficult and not understanding
@@cheetahmaster2737 simple but you cant do anything basic.
Filmora is so simple and you don’t even need a tutorial for it
Now I’m switching to premier pro I’m still confused a lot
@@baeuh2274 because you can do way more things with premiere like face tracking
@@northwood8089 yeah, even professionals sometimes don't even know everything in it
after watching so many Adobe premier tutorials ,found this one,i love it,you guys are awesome!!! Congrats, you have got a new subscriber :)
"Assuming you've never edited a video in your life" the accuracy💀
Yeah that's what he said. Your ears work Svan, just not sure what's going on between them.
@@topdeckdog Sorry?
I really appreciate the simplicity, very direct, precise. looking forward to seeing more
why was that dude there lol
Because the other dude had to hold the handheld mic. Duh!
@@konraddobson 💯
For safety :D
Low key he was there learning like us newbie here
Just chewing gum
You have such a clear and very very positive vibes in your videos. I have seen many youtubers make tutorials, as if we already know the programme, but you explained it so well :) You got yourself a subscriber!
I find it funny how the thumbnail is of davinci resolve 14 😂😂
Andrii Mynka 😅🔥
Andrii Mynka 😂😂😂 I noticed that too.
Martian Architect Lol
Olufemii very unwise choice of thumbnail. So much work into a pretty good video, then a dumb move like that.
Reason why I dislike the video 😭
I know I'm very late to your comment section, but I've just picked up the desire to learn editing. I've watched a half dozen videos on the subject so far and must say that yours is the most informative. Fantastic job! And thank you.
Brian Haber thanks so much man!
i can literally hear all the saliva moving around in your mouth. Pretty disgusting. Great vid btw
I don't feel so old anymore. Your tutorial was simple to follow and has given me a lot more confidence. Thanks.
Thank you for a concise and clear video. I've tried a few times to use Premiere Pro and had to go back to editing with my Iphone. I still find it incredible that I can do that and come out with a reasonable video. But I'm going blind trying to do it on a small screen.
guys this is so beyond helpful! as a graduated marketing student this has saved meeeee
Thanks Guys, it's the first time for me using premiere pro and your tutorials are the best that I have watched.
I am 21 from India Bangalore...this is soooooo Useful man .......proud of u ....
Unreal tutorial. Thank you guys. Even after 4 years this video is incredibly useful. Appreciate it a ton.
Awesome tutorial. I have been editing in Final Cut Pro for about 10 years now, and feel like I need to make the switch. This was very simple and helpful for me to translate my knowledge from Final Cut into Premier Pro. Plus I loved that you were using "Hillsong" as your demo! Thank you!
Randomly bumped into this video and became a video editor in an hour.great job, i might get a job thanks to you guys
Saw so many videos, but yours is the best! Thank you 🙏🏻 Great job, I was loosing all hope with all the other videos ♥️
Great tutorial, you sold me on premiere! Liked and subscribed. I noticed on 25:57, there's some white effect I was wondering if that's from the original footage or whether you added it on.
Honestly this is one of the most spot on video that I have seen so far on video editing
Dude you are a natural teacher. You've just earned a sub... Keep up the good work.
