Appreciate video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you researched - Mackorny Marijuana Paradise Blueprint (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for giving up smoking weed without the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate after many years got excellent results with it.
Hey :) I was wondering, Do you add tobacco when you smoke? I'm having a hard time smoking cigarettes which is why i quit. But what about a little bit of tobacco added to weed?
Pasquale Prata yeah no problem I do it to but I smoke al lot of hash.weed when I am with 6 friends or so but if you like to smoke than add like 0.4 grams weed in your joint and the rest tabacco
@@kevinpatrickcarey3741 have you smoked? Like more than 1-3 times? Weed chills you down, you are way too lazy to even move a finger, you only move to get some food most of the times
@@kevinpatrickcarey3741 the "myth"??? Huh? I literally dont know a single Person Who got aggressive After smoking, everyones so fucking calm and chilled. Maybe if ur hella addicted but usually it calms u downm
More people die each year from hippopotamus attacks than from weed. More people die each year from falling out of bed than from weed. In fact, no one has ever died from smoking weed. Meanwhile an average of 450k people die each year from cigarette smoking, yet tobacco is legal and marijuana is illegal. What's wrong with this picture?
I came to this conclusion based off of the comment section, based off of my own knowledge/experiences and based off of debates. Cannabis is not entirely to blame for anxiety . I believe, It's the man made high amounts of THC that is the underlying issue. You might ask " what do you mean man made?" Well growers engineer higher amounts of THC into cannabis now so you can get higher and they also lower the amount of CBD during the process. And that right there can be an issue for most people specially to new consumers. CBD and THC co-exist from one another to help make you relax and enjoy the high. If one of the two chemicals are out of balance, your most likely going to have an uncomfortable experience. Either one giving you a certain high that you love but giving you anxiety during the session or another that relaxes you, but not give you the high that you want. It's a pretty technical thing just because it requires more balancing with things compared to alcohol. so everybody pretty much varies with consuming cannabis and that's why there's a lot of misconceptions with it. If you give a man who never dranked before a can of beer. He would probably be buzzed out . But if you give him a bottle of vodka and tell him to finish it . He would be vomitting, sweating, have mood swings and probably regret ever taking the bottle to begin with. That same scenario can be applied to cannabis aswell. If random people are consuming random amount of THC, then that in itself can be dangerous. It ruins your mental state by giving you high amounts of anxiety or psychosis. Know what your taking , start low with THC and do not go overboard with it. If you still feel uncomfortable with the lowest amount of natural unfucked with cannabis, then it's time to try CBD oil/flower , it has the lowest amount of THC. In fact I say start out with that first if your curious about cannabis. Be responsible in what you consume and you should be A okay! I believe drugs like this are not the issue, its the lack of knowledge that the school system/ public needs to update on and know. Consume responsibly and be safe 👍

My father is an ex-alcoholic and drug user. I can honestly tell you the list of drugs he has /not/ done is shorter than the list he /has/ done. He's now clean and works as an addiction counselor, he helps minors overcome their addictions and works with about 20 other counselors. Every counselor has said they'd rather have marijuana legal than alcohol.
The fact that you have the guts to tackle this and try to put forth a balanced view in the highly politicized minefield of legalizing marijuana, earned a "like" from me.
As a daily smoker who smokes a shit ton of weed every day and has a good paying fun job, no mental issues etc I get really frustrated at the way people see it. Just because something is not for you doesn't mean I can't handle and live with it, I can guarantee you it got me through some tough times in my life, don't think I would've graduated if I didn't lit a joint after school. Obviously I enjoy the recreational side of it aswell, nothing wrong with that either, but even just a little weed balances me out and makes me feel Ok, which is all I ever want in life tbh
truth, also, " psychedelics don't work on stupid people", Resource Based Economy , The Venus Project , if all had food and shelter, imagine the , I hardly see someone say "what's being done about the problem" .
I feel you man, but I switched to vaping because vape carts don't contain the same 100s of toxic chemicals released from traditional smoking. Dabbing is expensive and hurts the lungs. Edibles aren't always that exciting, and they take 45 minutes to kick in.
Not that I don't completely advocate the use of marijuana, some people may try synthetic drugs such as acid and K2 ( fake weed ) because those don't show up on drug tests. Especially if one is on probation.
My dad let me smoke weed as a kid (15-16 yrs old). He let me do this because he would rather me smoke pot than vape or drink or have a cigarette. It also helped me through school since I was able to concentrate more and participate a lot more than usual. It boosted my mood a lot and I think it benefits me a lot.
@- 𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚖𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝 -♡︎ lol knowing about sex and 'other stuff' doesn't give you the mind of a 20 year old and there's something wrong if you're thinking about these substances at 10. I'm all for educating kids but if you're out here thinking about what age you're gonna start smoking weed something is seriously wrong. Also I just wanna say that a brain isn't fully grown until 20-25 year old, so unless it's medicinal it would be best to wait
Yes it does have long term in when used often but otherwise its pretty safe as long as you spend significantly more time sober than high you should be fine tho
I smoke every day but my eyes are opened wide enough to know that smoking 3 times a day at 16 much cause some counterproductivity issues in the future due to it. I've done the research and there are harmful effects to marijuana but there are also good effects to it as well. EVERY DRUG (including cannabis) has downsides to it but the upside of this drug is way higher medical wise and should be legalized.
+Fadrian I injected about 5 weeds and almost overdosed. Luckily my mum acted quickly and rubbed dorito dust on the incision point and I recovered after a 5 month coma.
Yeah I injected two marijuanas and my gf killed herself and I was blamed for her murder by the police, then I got butt fucked 3 times a day for 10 years
Dr. Carroll: thank you for this. I don't use pot but I've been curious about its use as incidence of marijuana rises in the news. You've provided a clear and honest synopsis of the risks and problems with the drug as well as solid perspective on its relative harms to society and the individual. It's excellent to find unbiased, fact-based reporting by someone with actual knowledge on a socially controversial subject.
Marijuana is really a strange drug though! I dont smoke either, i do chemistry for an old friend with chronic pain, and severe depression. I do not advise using marijuana if you can live just fine without it, and its so sad people misuse it now.😕
@@aliviatoro1071 - Well, I feel that it should be legal recreationally, to be honest: even if it's not for me. I'm curious about its efficacy for anxiety and depression, though: since I've read many conflicting reports on that (all of them based upon 1 strain versus another). I've got quite a few mental issues and wouldn't want to take anything that could interfere or react badly with any meds I'm already on... But I'm rambling! It's neat to see my 7-year-old comment get a response after all this time! :)

Dude, Seek Jesus with your heart and amazing things will happen, I guarantee it. There's a real Holy Spirit that will speak to your heart even when your not high.
short term memory loss on little things. I stress over little things that happened in my pass. The mind is programed to remember bad things so we don't make that mistake again. Weed trains my brains to forget and focus on what's important now.
Yes dude yes. That's exactly what I was thinking. I would remember too much of the past but after, having smoke marijuana for a year, I've just been focusing on the positives of today!
+Nicholas Johnston weed completely fucks with your short term memory. I actually stopped smoking since 4/20 this year after smoking heavily for almost a year- and my memory is literally 10x better. It's unbelievable how much weed impairs memory. Too much weed will give you brain fog, which for me lasted about 3 weeks since last smoking. Now I'm all good
Its not just blowing smoke you're blowing away stress anxiety and depression and that's why I can never get enough life will never let me win and sometimes it hurts and weed...well its like the Best Friend I never had keeps me happy and my mind steady
As an ex-cannabis user I don't judge anyone who decides to use it for therapeutic reasons. What I find extremely depressing is how some people actually need to consume pot to actually enjoy spending time together with their friends. The last sessions I had with my ex-pot buds were really eye-opening because everyone (except for myself) was high; watching them became progressively more depressing. They needed to consume drugs in order to enjoy playing videogames or watching a movie; I find that behavior truly ridiculous. That being said, it is absolutely outrageous that alcohol (which is potentially more dangerous than many other illegal drugs) and cigar are still considered legal when they have proven to kill people both in the long and short term.
Yes but a negative does make marijuana positive! It's an evil fallacy to pass maijuana through. Both are wrong. So, we don't need to approve the easier to be disapprove then deal with smokinng and alcohol if we can! Thank you!

I smoked for years then Jan of 2019 I smoked a joint and I got anxiety, my chest got tight it felt hard to breathe I thought I was gonna die but then I took breaks and yesterday I smoked 2 bowls and I was chillen, marijuana still shouldn’t be smoked if you’re under 25, let your brain finish it’s development first
That's a broad range of topics. Basically, the ones I've read have shown that it can help relieve stress (positive), but it also reduces reaction time, impairs short-term memory, and with extended use can impair the ability to learn new information.
IceMetalPunk That's exactly the stuff I was hoping would have been included to present a well-balanced view of its health effects. Of course, even taking psychological aspects into consideration, legalization would be wise.
Jason J. Shaw As would I, although I disagree on the legalization. If someone deliberately reduces their judgment, motor skills, memory, and ability to learn, I would consider them a danger to society. But that's just me, I guess.
This is a great episode, I myself smoke cannabis and have done so for over twenty years. I can say with confidence, you did not anger this pot-head. Great job.
😂😂I would like to know if you still smoke and how it's going for you so far if you don't mind.... I'm a smoker myself and I'm curious how it will affect me in the next 20 years or so

Weed gives me the best sleep ever which helps a lot after training. Have been doing jiu jitsu 4-5 days a week for years and nights after training I smoke, eat dinner (which tastes amazing) take a shower (which feels amazing) then I’m out like a light before 10 o’clock. Full 8 hour sleep and feel fresh as a daisy the next day ready to do it all again. I honestly recommend cannabis to a lot of people simply because “how can getting a great sleep and eating lots of amazing tasting grapes be bad for you?”
I have never smoke marijuana and I never will. However, marijuana should NOT be illegal. Nor should ANY other drug. Either you own your own body, or you do not. Either we live in a free society, or we do not.
That's an extremely simple take on a complicated problem. If all drugs affected only the people taking them, that might be ok (and let the users deal with the health problems their stupidity brought unto them), but some drugs cause people to behave in ways that can easily hurt other people, whether through some mania or by impairing the user's judgement enough for them to go and do something stupid. But in evaluating each drug for potential to harm others, there are arguments against ALL drugs, including alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana, the big three labeled as "least destructive" by our society. So yeah. Way more complicated than a solution like, "just legalize it all," can handle.
I'm also quite surprised that smoking marijuana would have no ill effects on one's lungs. In principle, inhaling any source of particulate or partial combustion products is going to be unhealthy to some degree, and contain potential carcinogens. Of course based on our evolution, especially in northern latitudes, we've likely lived with wood smoke in our environments for a very long time, and before that we would have still had dust and such, so I do understand that our bodies would be built to deal with a certain amount of it. Is Ingesting THC as effective for the potential benefits? Based on the reasons above, I assumed it would be safer. (and if nothing else, at least you're less likely to impose / impact other people around you who may not be interested in partaking in MJ / breathing in smoke). Oh, and for interest sake, I've never tried smoking, or drugs, and have only briefly tasted the occasional forms of alcohol, but have never had a full drink, nor been drunk. I'm not religious or anything, I just never saw the need / never had an interest, and figured these things weren't particularly healthy. (though I do enjoy eating chocolate).
Healthcare Triage Go read this study... www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23846283 Here is a well done study that showed increased rates of lung cancer in people who smoke marijuana more than 50 times. The study you chose to use was of a relatively young population, so people did not start to develop lung cancer yet.
Jeff Chamberlain Thank you! I hadn't had a chance yet to read HT's referenced study, nor to search for further ones such as this one you've cited. I will take a look at both of these later this week. This is part of the more nuanced discussion I was hoping for. :) It should be obvious that breathing in particulate, and/or partial combustion products, is something that one's body then has to work to expel, and that could be damaging.
Jeff Chamberlain Of course we can still discuss at what level of harm we require to decide to make it illegal, similar to alcohol and such, especially if there are potential benefits for some people. (though I'd still say to use it in a less harmful manner, like potentially ingestion, would make more sense).
Jeff Chamberlain Healthcare Triage Ok, I've read the studies. Interesting. Certainly seems like Jeff's article is a more recent followup to the previous Sweden study. Makes sense to me. Was this not an article you felt was relevant Aaron? I'm also glad that the JAMA article discussed some of their unusual findings, and potential reasons proposed for them. (since one should always try to Explain the data, where possible) By the way Aaron, if your only response to my original comment was going to be "Go read the study...", then you really shouldn't have bothered. I was intending to open up discussion with other viewers. Your statement isn't really a discussion, and again your potential tone is more dismissive than anything. Similar to your flippant comment to me previously. I know that you likely don't have time to respond / discuss all the comments posted to your videos, I can completely understand that. So I would advise that you should Not bother responding, unless you are going to make a serious attempt. Try to act more like a real person wanting to discuss a topic, if you are going to. Even a short comment such as "I was surprised too, but this appears to be what the data has found" would have been more friendly. (assuming that is true. I would think that as a Doctor, you would also agree that breathing in carcinogens can be harmful. Even your articles linked talk about this, in case you were unaware of the chemistry involved, since I don't know your full background.) I guess I'm saying that you have a public image now. And not that you should compromise scientific integrity, but that people will want to interact with you, and that the way you do this will win or lose viewers, and will win or lose people's opinions on the science, to some degree. Just look at the image that Hank and John put forth on their channels.
Usa asked our government to illegal the marijuana in Nepal because the americans were traveling to nepal to smoke weed... And now thats illegal here in Nepal they legalize it in USA .. What do you make of it?
same goes to india damn fuckers got it banned in 1984,can't just they fucking keep it to themselves I means WTF if your countrymen covering a whole set of nautical miles just to smoke weed then it must be your set of rules which is the problem don't just go around changing other country rules for these kind of silly reasons ,they destroyed the whole marijuana trade here, before 84 we used to get good strains of marijuana at almost no cost and now the street side weed is costing more.
people don't smoke weed for medical reason, they smoke weed for recreation, u.s just legalize weed, and alot of pot heads heading to colorado from all part of the country, they just should that the war on drug is now worse than before.
One must also consider that unregulated marijuana can be covered in pesticides, herbicides and fertiliser, not to mention all the other harmful additives used to thin out the product and such. Legalising and regulating marijuana could decrease any harm it does do.
actually once you legalise it big bussiness will crush out smaller growers and lobby so that they can turn the marijuana into as much as a fuck-fest as the rest of american agriculture. Legalised for medical use (where all you need to do to get a prescription for it is tell a doctor you have a headache) keeps the growth and sale of it in just enough of a gray area that the potential legal costs for a big, nation-owning corporate conglomerate outweigh the potential benefit of destroying people's lives for a quick buck and the bussiness remains relatively local and easier to control. This is the only reason I oppose openly legalising weed sale-- it's better for the weed bussiness
***** False. For example: Despite being legal for recreational use in both states, in Colorado it is indeed legal to grow up to six plants for personal use; however, in Washington, personal grows are still illegal.
Christopher Brown Totally agree except for the part about minors getting their hands on it. While I agree that there are likely adverse effects on the developing brain, I think it's probably easier for kids to get it as an illegal drug since drug dealers hang out at the schools. I bet most peoples' kids can get pot easier than they themselves can. Regulation at least makes it a bit harder for kids to get their hands on it (not that some wouldn't obviously).
***** what's the point of legalising it if you'd wind right back up growing it in your basement like a criminal? As far as I see it, legalised for personal use (like a bunch of states have) and medical use (ie too much red tape for industry abuse) works good. Once you open the doors to the big dogs the environment of the industry quickly gets changed to shut down anybody but the richest benefiting from the stuff, I'd hate to see something people enjoyed turning into starbucks.
Honestly, if it becomes legalized, the tax money from it would be great, on top of this, we wouldn't be wasting resources on arresting people or trying to stop its flow, or jailing people for it, etc. Furthermore, companies can just tell you not to come to work while high. I don't see a downside when things like drunk driving results in tragedies all the time (claiming the life of one of my aunts, even), but I have never heard of someone committing manslaughter while stoned. :\
There was a man a couple weeks ago in Colorado who shot a few people while high. It was on MSN when it happened, but nobody else really talked about it.
I don't think that the mix of pain killers in there, or the fact that he ate it mixed with food had much to do with it. I'll admit that I can't name any others, but I don't exactly look for this stuff. I'm neutral to legalization, but if it is legalized in more places then I think that we'll see plenty of examples of manslaughter connected to marijuana.
I'd like to see it legalized, personally. I don't think an isolated event can be blamed on marijuana when millions and millions of people have been using it for great lengths of time already with no incident.
HurricaneSparky I see where you're coming from. There are a handful of benefits, and we're pretty sure it isn't as harmful as stuff like alcohol, but I won't use it whether it is legal or not, so I don't really care if it gets legalized. We might see more negatives, but I guess only time will tell.
I have been thinking about and researching this issue for 10 years and I genuinely believe marijuana is illegal because it makes you more aware of your surroundings and the political system that controls you
Maybe this reply is 7 years too late but im fairly certain its because america hates mexicans and when they turned up with weed america decided to outlaw it

Everything he says is backed by data easily available on the internet. Don't take his word for it -- look it up for yourself. Just blindly following someone's opinion is never a good idea. Educate yourself and you'll never get taken advantage of.
Ben Turner Yeah… Right… Except I educate myself on many subjects and rely on trust at some point, for lack of time and, let's not kid ourselves, laziness. Even if I were to check the sources I would still have to trust that the scientists that did the surveys were trustworthy so I'll stop my trust minutia to this handsome fellow right here because he's backed by scientific evidence.
What it does is make you more susceptible to personality change. For example, if you were to go to work everyday and have the same routine it will help. If not, and you stay home alone getting high you will become anti social.
I'm 60, and I'll say this, I've never seen two stoned friends (or myself) get physically combative or cause property damage in some furious state. But drunk ones? I couldn't begin to count...
The difference between alcohol, smoking and marijuana is that smoking and alcohol is already extremely popular making it illegal wouldn't stop the one's that do it. But making Marijuana legal for everybody(i am not against medicinal Marijuana) will create a storm of new users that want to be in on the trend, and then get addicted to it. If it gets legal now, it will be impossible to push it back in illegality
ryuuseicha And exactly how did you gage the amount of people who'd smoke weed otherwise ? I'm going to go on a limb here and guess that you just assumed it based on the people you know who use it.
Actually I'd say that the evidence is pretty much in favor of repression working against unwanted behavior. Whether marihuana smoking is unwanted or whether it would work in this specific case is another matter but I don't think you have anything to back that up. "The real issue is that prohibition is causing society much more harm than the consequences of cannabis use." Circular reasoning. You're supposed to back this up. "Why do you think you are so much better than the rest of the country? " I don't. You're being silly. "You are just buying into the hysteria. " I'm european. There is no hysteria here.
I don't use drugs, I don't smoke and I only drink occasionally and never in excess but I still think that it's stupid that people go to jail for something so comparatively harmless.

***** Are you one of those people that thinks there's nothing wrong with weed and blames issues people had with weed on anything but weed itself? I love weed. But I'm not going to be saying some bullshit like it's totally harmless at every level. Because it isn't.
legalize it. I still won't use it even if it's legal. but it seems like it would benefit society as a whole if it was legal (and, importantly, regulated, just like with any smoke, I don't want to go into a restaurant that's full of marijuana smoke)
It is debatable. It completely depends on the way in which it's used and how often it is used. When used in moderation it can absolutely be beneficial to your health in more ways than one. That's not to say that there aren't any harmful effects that it can cause because there absolutely are. I'm just saying that everything when abused is bad for you, and it doesn't make sense that other substances such as alcohol and tobacco which have been proven to be more harmful than marijuana are still legal.
Couldn't we treat Marijuana like alcohol. Just like alcohol it effects your reaction time, BUT.. Marijuana doesn't kill. Did I also mention that alcohol can cause depression? Alcohol and tobacco have no medicinal use. Why are they legal? You know why? Because the government make such fucking petty tax from it. It's all about the money people's!
I do and I'm not stupid weed doesn't make you stupid and you probably never smoked before if you think that if you have and still think it you are just plan stupid
RippedSock I know for a fact that if I am stoned, I cannot function properly in any of my everyday activities, I can't walk, I can barely talk slurring my mouth off, I forget shit easily, stare into space for minutes on end, laugh uncontrollably, I don't know what shitty schwag / reggie weed you're smoking.
This sums up my stance on marijuana nicely. I'm fine with people saying that it is too dangerous to be legal if they feel similarly about other substances like tobacco and alcohol. But it seems hypocritical to try and defend keeping all the laws where they are.
I agree. I'd also be fine with criminalizing alcohol and tobacco. Starting with tobacco first, because we still haven't figured out a good way to enforce laws to keep people from getting drunk.
I'm fine for people wanting to smoke it, and it does have medical benefits. However, they need to be aware that a)it is addictive (yes caffeine and alcohol are too, but so is marijuana), b)it does impair brain function like alcohol so no DUI, and c)it shouldn't be sold to kids, and thus it needs to be regulated.
Goabnb94 I have very little problem with medical marijuana. However, we have first-hand data to show that doctors don't often care about whether their patients' medical marijuana cards are real or even needed. On top of that, it's possible to grow marijuana that has low levels of THC, so you get the medical benefit without the detrimental effects. I'd be just fine with that strain being legal--but of course, that's not what most people want when they advocate legalizing weed. They want the high. And that's where I say, "No, screw you. You want to mess with your brain, then you are a danger to society and deserve to be taken out of it until you stop."
This is the second time watching this video. I like it. The speaker seems to be treating the subject matter evenly. Data based arguments always rock my world.
Whenever I smoke weed i feel happy in the moment nothing and I mean nothing can hurt me but once I stop and do it again it makes me fall into a deeper and deeper depression the more I do it
Dear Healthcare Triage, Comparing something bad to something worse is not a valid justification for legalizing it. And the question isn't whether or not to replace alcohol with weed. The question is, should we add a weed problem to an existing alcohol problem. I'm a child of the sixties. In the seventies I grew weed, I sold weed and I smoked weed. Now, as I look back on my life, I see clearly that weed delayed me from making progress. When I was in college, my grades suffered. It clouded my thinking. I made stupid choices. I never finished my degree. Consequently, I ended up settling for a career I never enjoyed, and I didn't have the life I might have had. As I think about people I know, I see that the ones who never used drugs accomplished more, and were more satisfied with how their lives turned out than than the ones who indulged themselves. One of the terms we used for getting stoned back in the day was getting stupid. "Dude, ya wanna get stupid? I got some killer weed." Flash forward to now, I have a 24-year old stepson who started smoking weed in the 10th grade. A year later he dropped out of sports. Then he quit going to school. He's never been able to hold a job for more than a couple months. Finally, after eight years of living in a fog and going nowhere in his life, he told his mom that he thought pot wasn't good for him and he has tried to stop but can't. Well, at least he doesn't have a drinking problem, right? Maybe you should update this video after the consequences to society are better understood.
I found the pulmonary study to be very misleading. They're really studying how limited smoke inhalation doesn't adversely affect pulmonary function. (cynical note: but such a redundant study won't get the funding dollars or a paper published). The negative affects on lung capacity come from the sheer volume of chronic smoke inhalation. And the volumes either group were exposed to are on opposite extremes, as to make the conclusions obvious. (Tobacco users reported smoking multiple cigarettes a day, while marijuana users reported smoking a few times a month.) They're simply reporting that given *current usage patterns*, marijuana is less harmful to pulmonary function than cigarettes. (cynical note: but if marijuana were legalized I have no doubt that cigarette companies would jump on it and eventually, after their brand loyalties are established, create weaker and weaker joints to drive up sales. Thereby equalizing smoke inhalation volumes and negating this study). FYI I'm all for decriminalization of marijuana, and think smoking should be banned (or whatever the equivalent is of making smoking illegal-ish)
When you refer to learning from prohibition are you saying that: people made up/ justified all kinds of medical reasons to drink alcohol during prohibition. But now that it is legal, people admit there are very few medical reasons to drink alcohol?
Jeff Chamberlain I think he's saying that trying to make something illegal when a vast number of people want it only leads to those same people turning to criminals or crime itself in order to get it. The mafia back then is the same as the drug cartels we have now.
Jeff Chamberlain It helps in certain cases, so i guess that won't go away. All the other magic probably will. Though i had more general meaning in mind. People had this discussion before, though subject is a bit different and we have advanced a little, but motivations and attitudes are almost identical. Problems we face upholding this ban, or will face after its gone, were there before. I don't think, we are going to invent anything new this time. Elections will be won on fear and ignorance. Money will be made because forbidden fruits are pricy. Lives, nobody cares about, will be wasted. Eventually, we'll trade this "privilege" to choose our poison, for some other piece of freedom and/or tax money. Same story.
My legality position is: if alcohol and tobacco are legal, marijuana should definitely be legal. It is more natural than fermenting beer or manufacturing a cigarette. However, I would honestly have no problem with criminalizing weed as long as the other two were criminalized as well. I'm all about fairness.
Hell yeah lets criminalize everything, there's a lot of money to be made selling illegal goods. Just what we need more gangs and violence to help stimulate the economy.
***** That's not where organized crime started in america. There's a large amount of organized crime activity in america going back to the 1880s. Gangs of New York anyone? You're correct though that banning alcohol led to a dramatic rise in the smuggling of that drug in the US. Should also be pointed out that the US spends $50 billion on the War on Drugs that started in the 70s under president Nixon which has yet to stop people from using illegal drugs and instead of just legalizing and regulating drugs like every country should do, our prolonged "temperance" movement is causing thousands of deaths from drug over-doses and criminal activity in Mexico and the US. It's also the #1 crime sentence in the US and accounts for almost 1/4 of all incarcerated persons and half of all newly incarcerated persons. Inmates cost $32k per year to keep locked up which is an extra $48 billion on top of the $50 billion we spend fighting the drug war.
I love this so much. I used to be on a prescribed BP drug that gave me so many bad side affects including impacting my cardiovascular performance. After I experimented with cannabis as a replacement I’ve managed to lower my BP and get off the prescription. Not to mention my overall mood has improved vastly. I just hope that changes in the UK are made sooner rather than later. But our government is so far behind on this it’s almost humerus
If a part two is in the future I'd be interested in hearing more about the psychological effects of marijuana that were brought up briefly at the beginning of the video, as well as if age has any effect on how harmful marijuana can be.
Everyone makes it sound so serious. Legality, health risks, "you're ruining your life and America!". Man, I just want to be able to go home, light up a bowl, and watch cartoons after work without worrying about being sent to jail. How exactly is that negatively affecting anybody? Just legalize the stuff, you prudes.
its obvious that any negative effects that people are questioning about marijuana can only be achieved if you smoke like an ounce every day, i just wanna smoke a joint without being locked up or yelled at by my parents
Oscer Larke no, people can get addicted from smoking weed once, also people who are prone to mental illnesses can get schizophrenia and depression just from smoking once.
Casper O’Neil only mentally addicted, same way people get mentally addicted to jacking off and gaming, you could stop if you have enough willpower. That depression stuff from smoking once is bullshit though.
Why have I searched this before I’m about to light one as if it’s going to change my mind 😂No chance high 4 life. A friend with weed is a friend indeed😜

Where are the studies on the psychological impacts of smoking marijuana?
Yeah. Both positive and negative.
That's a broad range of topics. Basically, the ones I've read have shown that it can help relieve stress (positive), but it also reduces reaction time, impairs short-term memory, and with extended use can impair the ability to learn new information.
IceMetalPunk
That's exactly the stuff I was hoping would have been included to present a well-balanced view of its health effects. Of course, even taking psychological aspects into consideration, legalization would be wise.

You do love posting on these videos with your high contrast view of the world don't you?
PS - Rehab is cheaper than prison.

Go read the study...
Healthcare Triage Go read this study... www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23846283
Here is a well done study that showed increased rates of lung cancer in people who smoke marijuana more than 50 times.
(since one should always try to Explain the data, where possible)
By the way Aaron, if your only response to my original comment was going to be "Go read the study...", then you really shouldn't have bothered. Even your articles linked talk about this, in case you were unaware of the chemistry involved, since I don't know your full background.)
I guess I'm saying that you have a public image now.
+Barad Neupane lol that's fucked
same goes to india damn fuckers got it banned in 1984,can't just they fucking keep it to themselves I means WTF if your countrymen covering a whole set of nautical miles just to smoke weed then it must be your set of rules which is the problem don't just go around changing other country rules for these kind of silly reasons ,they destroyed the whole marijuana trade here, before 84 we used to get good strains of marijuana at almost no cost and now the street side weed is costing more.
people don't smoke weed for medical reason, they smoke weed for recreation, u.s just legalize weed, and alot of pot heads heading to colorado from all part of the country, they just should that the war on drug is now worse than before.
ericktwelve11 yeah cause the war on drugs was a huge win and it was started to end drug consumption and not for political reasons (note the sarcasm)
haha, america has your country by the balls!
"Yes", you're obviously "right".
Once a wise man sang: Roll me up and smoke me when I die!
It is a gift from Mother Earth but better in moderation.
There is a simple solution to the big weed debate.
1. If you want to smoke weed, go smoke weed.
2. If you don't want to smoke weed, don't smoke weed.
I want to keep smoking weed but also want to know all the possible effects it might have on me..It sure makes life exciting
@@kigenmusa6013 you good
Honestly, if it becomes legalized, the tax money from it would be great, on top of this, we wouldn't be wasting resources on arresting people or trying to stop its flow, or jailing people for it, etc.
Hm, he ate edible pot on top of pain killers and began hallucinating. That is terrifying. What about anyone who has smoked it, and only on its own?
We might see more negatives, but I guess only time will tell.
love how these videos are made in response to what people want to see haha

Maybe this reply is 7 years too late but im fairly certain its because america hates mexicans and when they turned up with weed america decided to outlaw it

The dissociation from the peak and the short term memory loss of the weed is very very trippy
The vast majority of people who want to smoke weed already do, and marijuana is not physically addictive.
ryuuseicha
And exactly how did you gage the amount of people who'd smoke weed otherwise ? I'm going to go on a limb here and guess that you just assumed it based on the people you know who use it.
ryuuseicha it doesn't mean they don't want it now, that they won't want it when it is legal, just to go along with the trend.
m0ose0909 I would not start smoking it but i do know a lot of people who would.
Actually I'd say that the evidence is pretty much in favor of repression working against unwanted behavior. Whether marihuana smoking is unwanted or whether it would work in this specific case is another matter but I don't think you have anything to back that up.
"The real issue is that prohibition is causing society much more harm than the consequences of cannabis use."
Circular reasoning. You're supposed to back this up.
"Why do you think you are so much better than the rest of the country? "
I don't. You're being silly.
"You are just buying into the hysteria. "
I'm european. There is no hysteria here.
I don't use drugs, I don't smoke and I only drink occasionally and never in excess but I still think that it's stupid that people go to jail for something so comparatively harmless.

*****
Are you one of those people that thinks there's nothing wrong with weed and blames issues people had with weed on anything but weed itself?
I love weed. But I'm not going to be saying some bullshit like it's totally harmless at every level. Because it isn't.
legalize it.
I still won't use it even if it's legal.
but it seems like it would benefit society as a whole if it was legal (and, importantly, regulated, just like with any smoke, I don't want to go into a restaurant that's full of marijuana smoke)
It's a drug. So yes, it's harmful. Not debatable.
It's doesn't effect your reaction time
RippedSock you obviously havent smoked before
I do and I'm not stupid weed doesn't make you stupid and you probably never smoked before if you think that if you have and still think it you are just plan stupid
I'm smoke loud you are just stupid and control yourself it's not the weed I smoke it's just I been smoking then you and know what to do
This sums up my stance on marijuana nicely.
*****
Explain every drug that's currently illegal, then. And non-drug laws.

My question was answered soon as I saw the likes vs dislikes
(Tobacco users reported smoking multiple cigarettes a day, while marijuana users reported smoking a few times a month.)
They're simply reporting that given *current usage patterns*, marijuana is less harmful to pulmonary function than cigarettes.
Marijuana stunted growth In my life In so many different aspects. Kicking It was the best thing I have ever done for myself.
I bet you were already on a slippery slope before smoking.
Anyone high atm like me 😂
I personally don't like Marijuana, but this video is fair. It causes no physical harms at all.
It seems like people either forgot prohibition or didn't learn enough.
