I’m 71 and new to the light box. It looks so interesting. If I win I would like to make a wall hanging called Silent Night. Two years ago I was hit by a drunk driver and was severely injured and unable to sew or quilt. I’m better now and saw this item in the project and would like to have this be my comeback to quilting again. Thank you for your video and I hope I’m considered.
You don't say, is this plugged into the computer or power source? It looked like the cord was one for the computer, the little I saw. I have a regular light box right now that is power sourced, but I do like the idea of using it for paper piecing, never thought of that. Since I don't do Instagram, I won't be eligible for the drawing but I may look into this product.
I am a Bernina 780 owner and would really like to have the light box to complement my love of digitizing, crafting and some quilting used in making garments. Oh, by the way, I really enjoyed your video on the light box and the additional cutting sheet.
Thanks for a new perspective on how to use my litebox. I'm still extremely nervous about this style of paper piecing. It feels too complicated! I do hexi paper piecing but I have never tried this. I think I need to focus on a sewing room overhaul before I can find room for another gadget! Lol.
There are so many uses for a light box. It’s funny because just yesterday I pulled it out to use it and since this video much has happened in my life. I’ve gotten married, moved , and redesigned my sewing room twice. Here is my latest sewing room set up and you can see where I keep my light boxes now. ua-cam.com/video/83HPhdRqzwQ/v-deo.html
I design fabric postcards. This would work great for working with templates and adjusting sizes. No more using a sunny window to trace a template or a part of a photograph.
why you need the Daylight Wafer 1 and cutting mat --- I am just getting into applique and love it this would be a great tool to help with the layering on the vinyl. thanks much.
Oh my there are so many things to do with the cutting mat, but most of all the ability to cut whilst seeing the seams underneath. Great for paper piecing.
Paper piecing would be great to use this for. Also to clean up coloring pages that I want to scan with my Dream Machine to make sure all lines are closed
Sue this is fantastic.I didn't even think of using a light box for paper piecing. I get really confused and have to unpick nearly ever third seam. This would make a huge difference. Thanks for the great information on all these notions.
P ut it on the appliqué/ iron on pattern so my placement is correct before ironing it in place. I like that you can cut right on the screen for more accurate cutting in paper piecing.
Wonderful! Welcome to the world of Quilting! I do a lot of quilting notion reviews. Check out my playlist for notions here: ua-cam.com/play/PLbwpCJXJ_Jr6yWEu5EIi1ieP5Kr2-N0i8.html
The light box with cutting looks fantastic. Fuzzy cutting would be a breeze, and matching strips, etc to create all sorts of sewing projects. Thank you for sharing. 👍
Sue your videos are the best! Love the detailed info and visuals you give on each product review. I have purchased items, knowing that they will work for me, after watching your videos. This light board would be awesome as I do a lot of appliqué and to think that I can use it for paper piecing is freaking awesome. Thanks for the review.
I do a LOT of paper piecing, so I definitely want both the box and the mat. I really love how thin it is, because it will take up less space when being stored. Thanks for sharing Sue!!!
I loved this video. I currently use my window for a lightbox, but that doesn't work very well at night or on cloudy days! I would use it for paper piecing and for drawing designs. The cutting mat is an awesome addition to this light box because it would make it so much easier and clearer to cut for this (older generation) who no longer sees so well!
I enjoy all of your videos and have purchased quite a few things I would never have looked at twice. Is there any possibility you might do one on a felted pressing mat? I had never seen or heard of them until recently. I'd love to hear more about them before I make a purchase that is that expensive. Thanks.
OMG!!! I love this produce! It would be great when placing vinyls on glass items, when tracing art work and of coarse when fussy cutting fabric. Would so love to win one. Hope I win!!!!
I ❤❤❤ paper piecing. Currently working on the heart blocks for the #loveloudquilt. I also love applique and hand embroidery. I have the Yoyo magnifier and it's so helpful. I can see when working on wool projects and hand embroidery. The wafer 1 light box looks amazing. Thank you for reviewing this product!
Hi Sue, I just love the exuberance that you put into all of your videos. I would love to have this wafer light box and cutting mat for cutting out applique pieces and for tracing pattern pieces for my embroidery projects. The cutting mat is a great addition to an already neat notion. Thanks for the chance to win this great prize.
I have been looking at this for months now, love doing applique and really appreciate your video explaining all the features of this light box. Thanks for giving us a chance to win one! Love your videos. Karen Roop
i was actually shopping on Shabby Fabrics and the Daylight Wafer light box was on the list of things needed for a project- The A-door-naments Club!! Thanks for your very informational tutorial- this'll be a first for me as well. :)
This review was really helpful! I didn’t think of using it for paper piecing and now I’m thinking that would be a really fun way to quilt! I have been fitting and sewing apparel for myself since I was 5 years old and recently got a fantastic embroidery machine. I love using it to applique, especially for baby clothing, bibs, burp cloths, wall hangings, baby crib quilts, etc. So I got a Scan N Cut machine to make it easer to cut my applique pieces, but have also started using it for vinyl (HTV and PSV both). BUT weeding is very difficult! I can’t see the lines at all, so this was the first reason I wanted a lightbox. When I saw this one, I thought it would be better to get it than others as I have been very pleased with Daylight sewing lights/desk lamps plus having the cutting mat for it alleviated my concern about damaging the surface of the lightbox when weeding. But I will also use it to trace apparel patterns as needed. Have you compared the brightness of this lightbox to any of the other brands? It seemed like it might be the brightest one out there and I’ve seen a lot of “Best Of” reviews that rate the Daylight wafer highly. Have you tried weeding vinyl on it?
Oh, and I would also LOVE the chance to win one! There are just so many things on my wishlist to purchase right now, so that would really help me out! (Magnetic hoops, hooping station, more embroidery software,……) My eyes are definitely bigger than my bank account! And your videos are so helpful and you’re so fun to watch! Great examples!!
Just got into scrappy applique. This would be perfect for that. I also do regular quilting and would love for my seam allowances to line up like on the video. What a treat! And fussy cutting, the list goes on...

How to CLEAN the Wafer 1 surface of scotch tape bits etc. SOS 🙏
My first reaction would be to try Googone, that orange scented liquid. It removes sticky things
Awesome video Sue!!! I couldn't survive without my light box!! It's an awesome product that you will learn that you can't live without!! @modmansewist
I would love this light box for all my quilting and other crafts which are too many to mention! My whole house is a craft center!
Have to consider purchasing the light box and cutting mat. Would also use for tracing patterns to do tole painting.

Definitely works for paper piecing...I avoid it otherwise but being able to see clearly DOES make it easier.
I would use a definitely in my class craft room. And it sure would be a good learning experience.

To use for crafts and sewing

How did you like it for weeding vinyl - were you able to see the cut lines in HTV?
I can’t say personally how this helped but for paper piecing yes!
I have a Daylight lamp over my sewing table and I love it! I would love a lightbox for my paper piecing!!

Just got into scrappy applique. This would be perfect for that. I also do regular quilting and would love for my seam allowances to line up like on the video. What a treat! And fussy cutting, the list goes on...
Wow! What an awesome light! It sure beats taping to my window and tracing! What a game changer!!
Looks great for my paper piecing projects
