  • Today I'm going to be talking about how to use a light pad or light box to transfer or trace your images.Plus I am doing a small demo and review of the one I use from Huion. I also want to share a very important and (maybe obvious) tip that I learnt about using light pads to transfer your images from one piece of paper to another.
I hope you all enjoy this video:) Feel free to ask any questions below and remember to subscribe if you'd like to see more.

@@koce_koce4976 She told you approximately. The lit screen is made to fit an A4 sized paper, which is 29.7cm x 21 cm or 8.3 in x 11.7 in. I have a slightly different model but it looks very close in size; the entire pad, boarders included, measures 15.4 in x 10.6 in give or take a decimal or two.

For watercolours, I've found it really useful to draw the image on the wrong side of the watercolour paper in ink. I can then use the lightbox to paint in the first pale washes - no more pencil marks on the right side!

OMG! Its definitely not obvious to me. This was one of the reasons why I didn't get a light box because I wanted to transfer sketches onto watercolor paper and didn't think it could show through. I would not have thought to turn off over head lights 🥴😂 I ordered a light box and can't wait to use it 🤸😁 Thank you so much for sharing this brilliant tip! 🙏❤️

There is no paperwork saying what this ball is? Anyone know ? Just figured it out thanks to Google! Apparently it’s a rubber puck that separates and its to raise your light box up on an angle!😄 Just in case someone else wonders what it is!

Hi, Windy--I love your art! This is the brightest light table I've had. The problem I have is I can't get the pages to stick to each other while I'm tracing. I'm using 300 gsm watercolor paper like you, but even with the clip or smoothing out and taping the pages together, it seems like they bubble away from each other and even when I try to smooth out and hold down the area really close to where I'm working, there's always this little shift right when the nib touches down and the pages come back together. This always causes this distortion and disturbance right when I go to ink a line, ekkk!

My ptoblem is to reproduce my sketch on the canvas . What is the working support made of? Is it glass? Can it easily break or be scratched? How resistant is it,? Does it exist in A2? Any ideas would be most welcomed. I love your video.

Thank you so much for this review! I was looking for something like this :) My concern was that the watercolour paper might be too thick but you solved the problem with the lighting ;)

Thank you for the video. I actually stopped trying with mine cos it didn't show through my pastel paper. Now I know what to do, switch the light off et voila!!

WOW! I just purchased the one exactly like yours about 4 hrs. ago. I also purchased a Wall Lenk L12SCK Cutlass Stencil Cutting Kit. What do you use? Oh yeah, you did a very good job on this video.

Thanks for this video! Really helpful. I wondered, is this classed as an A4 or an A3 size? I can see you're using A4 sheets, but the edge of the lightbox looks bigger, if that makes sense? This might be obvious, but I don't want to buy the wrong size. THANKS!
