Top five in my opinion, though it’s hard to narrow it down that far. It terms of longevity, this song holds up a lot better than some of their other songs I have fallen in love with.
So few musicians, so few instruments. So much build-up, so much energy, so much passion, so much good music - all in one performance. This has to be the greatest build-up to a chorus in any song, ever.
Why? You think this is bad? Go see ACDC, Guns n Roses, and other bands, live show is not easy. Be glad to Matt, than aways is in pitch and don't use autotune. Even Red Hot Chili Peppers, who i love, Anthony Kieds almost aways is out of tune or forget the lyrics in the show in stage. Search for Katy Perry isolated mic track in lives, it's really bad. The shows is another type of beaty.
@@christtel1484I started liking them less after The Resistance, but Will of the People is fucking amazing and revived my love and appreciation for the band
Not only is it not easy to sing, but the emotion Matt infuses into a song is simply mind blowing. I’ve seen comments on their live concerts where girls AND guys admit to crying while Matt is singing. Must admit, he can wring the tears from me too.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present the greatest band in the history of the rock n roll genre. Unchallenged. We're blessed to live in a time when audio perfection like this is being created.
This was the most amazing show! No visual effects or big screens, just the band playing their music in a small venue! We were so lucky to be there! (you can see us on the barrier in front of Chris) Setlist was ridiculous too: Assassin, Apocalypse Please, NewBorn; and Hyper Music played by request from the barrier bunch in front of Matthew!
Yeah, I've watched the whole concert here on UA-cam, and it's among my all time favorites. What I'd have given to be there, but I actually didn't know about Muse at the time - it was actually the Guitar Center article which introduced me to them!
Dead inside! Revere a million prayers And draw me into your holiness But there's nothing there Light only shines from those who share Unleash a million drones Confine me then erase me babe Do you have no soul? It's like it died long ago Your lips feel warm to the touch You can bring me back to life On the outside you're ablaze and alive But you're dead inside! You're free to touch the sky Whilst I am crushed and pulverized Because you need control Now I'm the one who's letting go You like to give an inch Whilst I am giving infinity But now I've got nothing left You have no cares and I'm bereft Your skin feels warm to caress I see magic in your eyes On the outside you're ablaze and alive But you're dead inside! Feel me now, hold me please I need you to see who I am Open up to me, stop hiding from me It's hurting babe Only you can stop the pain Don't leave me out in the cold Don't leave me out to die I gave you everything I can't give you anymore Now I've become just like you My lips feel warm to the touch My words seem so alive My skin is warm to caress I'll control and hypnotise You've taught me to lie without a trace And to kill with no remorse On the outside I'm the greatest guy Now I'm dead inside
I've always had a soft spot for Muse, this album didn't really do it for me but this track was worth a whole album, this is my pick for their best song. And live - there's no-one like them.
I love this band. They are soooooo freaking good that they raise the bar to where most bands fail. Like live performance sounds as good as the record. Most bands fail but muse kicks a$$
2:35 and onwards it just goes into high gear that only Muse can do. And I'm not that big of rock music in general, but Muse has converted me into a fan.
Saw their performance at Drones world tour 2015 Korea concert, was so awesome. Outstanding performance, their live is even better than the recorded one...
How is Muse’s drummer so good? Found this comment about Dom Howard in a review: Howard has an incredible IQ when it comes to songs. He effortlessly plays the right grooves and the right fills at the right time. But this by no means makes him a basic drummer. In fact, Howard is one of, if not, the only drummer in Rock to really push the boundaries of the genre. From the albums The 2nd Law and Simulation Theory, Howard expands our ideas of what Rock music is and what it can be. He gives melody to the drums and changes the department of rhythm in a way that no other drummer has done so far. A very competent musician, Dominic Howard does not disappoint.
Son genios de la música siglo XXI. Nivel planetario. How has MUSE stayed together as a band 30 years? Dom Howard explains how they work together: “I have never only focused on the drums,” he replies. “We’ve all always concerned ourselves with production. On the most recent albums, the sound and the compositions had a lot more layers than just three instruments. But the core of the band has always been the three-piece. What each of us play is very open, we have a good grasp of each other’s instruments. When you’re self producing you’ve got to be aware of how everything sits together, from how you’re recording instruments to how you’re arranging the songs and deciding what everyone should play. Everyone is suggesting things to everyone else in this band. Having self produced the last two albums gave us that confidence.”
In my top 10 favourite Muse songs. Unfairly underrated. One of best Muse lyrics. And Matt's vocals are chef's kiss.
Who said you it’s underrated?
Agree!! The last bit is absolutely addictive, I love how emotional it is!!! Fantastic song!!!
I always play this next to Dead Star. ✨
Top five in my opinion, though it’s hard to narrow it down that far. It terms of longevity, this song holds up a lot better than some of their other songs I have fallen in love with.
This song is literally pulsing with emotion- a real masterpiece
Soooo tight. That front man is actually so ridiculously talented I doubt many people even realize
Oh, we're fully aware of what a force of nature Matt Bellamy is.

One of my favorite frontman, for sure.
Matt the magnificent, in my book!
You know they're a true artist when the live version sounds as good as the recorded one..... good stuff 👌🏼👍🏼
Muse makes all their songs sound better live.
They sound better live to me
i'm not agree live version sounds as good as the recorded, it's much better than the recorded version. literally every muse's song sound better live
Better😊❤
One of rare band capable of playing it live even better than studio record

Chris is an all round great musician, all 3 of the guys together= lightening in a bottle ⚡️🔥
@2:36 , this song becomes timeless. So beautiful.
Yesssss!!!! 1000% agree!!
Just like the album version, or even better.
Argan Ashvil It's definitely better than a studio recording.
holy fucking fuck. are they really this good live???
Yeah.
They are even better than you can image

Matt belamy Voice is unreal ....beautiful vocal range ..amazing artist ..greetings from Egypt
Look at Matt's mic technique, effectively doing his own compression / automation to keep the vocals at just the right volume. Awesome.
YES!!! He's really fine-tuned it over the years.
Noticed that for quite a while - another indicator of excellence and mastery of his craft
Dom's drumming during the whole end breakdown is so underrated
YES!
My drummer says Dom is so good at mixing his cymbals from chorus to bridge, so consistent he calls him a human metronome !
very highly underrated song IMO
literally one of my all time favorites
Agree
Despite them changing so much after their first 3-4 albums, this is legitimately one of their best songs ever. Even if it's nothing like the old days.
Drones was the last album I enjoyed from them. So to me Muse ended here.
MUSE is ever changing styles and genera’s to keep things interesting. They are wildly creative w every album, and I’m here for it!

The greatest Muse song ever…and by far. Everything about it is perfect, especially Matt’s vocals.
the quality of their concerts is spectacular
When you don't need to be high af or hyped up on drugs to love a band's live performance, then the band is doing it right.
Muse is just unadulterated talent, not drunk or high, just serious musicians[with a great sense of humor for their own foibles]
