Me: *struggles to play main riff sitting still*
Matt: *runs around like a maniac while playing perfectly*
Sometimes, he does it while spinning around(whirlwind)
Adrian Soldevilla yeah, these guys are insanely talented.
+Towe It's crazy seeing a group be so equally talented at such a high level. You rarely see a group like this anymore where they are all perfectionists in what they do.
This is the next level of stadium rock gods. The new U2 if you will. Such 'state of art' producition it's almost
... hard to believe

0:32 forgot mic is upstage
Underrated

Lol
To be able to shred that riff whilst running and executing a kick at the drop and run back to the stage and SING without loosing your breath or a beat is mastery.
yet during the early days of (before Muse), Bellamy wasn't wanted because he was only good on piano, thus he crash course and learnt the guitar ever since and now look what he has become.
@@cpamiseso and what he became exactly
@@andTutin nope
@@andTutin Guitar God. No one sound like him.
@@stevemuzak8526 I was actually talking to some musicians about this guy and they said he isn't that impressive. but has a deep understanding of simple tools used affectively. and has a unique guitar tone. he is pretty dope, love the band
I think it's amazing when Matt said in an interview that back then he wasn't confident to sing rock because he thought his voice didn't have rock style. Now look at him killing everything with his voice. He's definitely one of the greatest vocalists in my book. No one can change my mind.
he and chester
Among male vocalists, for sure. He definitely does have a voice that really seems to come from another plane of existence.
Then again, guy as a whole is an entire alien being, like even his weirdness is weird and even comical sometimes. Definitely a unique dude.
@@avantador36oh dude, Chester. Absolutely. For sure. Still missing him so much. That 17 seconds scream in Given Up still gives me actual chills.
Mye English is like mye nack 😂but enywey.Hvay all this critick fine somthing alder to leassento.
Matt Belamy is easily one of the best frontmen of all time.
Duke, that's the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Drainoman couldn't get into the 5th octave if you trapped his balls in a bear trap. Bellamy does it effortless while sweeping a solo.
Toast I think he's just ahead of Sergio from kasabian, he's mental but Matt is class
Duke Nuke on what fucking planet lmao, cause David sure doesn't come close to the top on this one
Yea he's clearly one of the best
The best of all time will always be Freddie Mercury, but Matt is up there just near him..
03:03 Matt's playing 6 over 8 arpeggios on a complex chord progression without even glancing at the guitar, while belting out a pitch perfect vocal that sounds even better than the record.
Godlike genius doesn't even cover it.
Strange Attractor he is an omnipotent rock genius, his mind comprising of a trillion earths’ lifes’ worth of smarts multiplied by the amount of atoms in the MULTIVERSE. damn it still doesn’t cover it.
@@themoon8321 he stands on a podium with Prince and Mozart.
Dude forget the descending triads, you can muscle memory that stuff.
I want to know how the FUCK he's singing at the same time??
Absolute legend
Hes is probably one of the best at duo (guitar and singers) ive ever seen.
Morte Et Dabo imo he’s one of the greatest lead guitar/lead singers ever, along with Hendrix and Gilmour, and I really mean that
I get to experience singing Plug In Baby live a week ago. Especially the 2:35 part. Front row, tears are falling of excitement and followed with goosebumps. Thank you Muse for coming to Malaysia. Please come again soon
So lucky! I want to see them In Australia but they’re not coming :(
@@AnnaBanana-kh4oy hopefully soon!
부러워요😢
I have a serious love for this performance that I keep coming back here frequently.
The thing about Muse is the three of them standout on live stage. Matt be killing as a guitarist/vocalist. But one can't ignore how insane Chris and Dom are for doing their shit. Chris is the bass beast. His monstrous sound along with Dom's electric fill.... both shake the entire stadium/arena. Amazing how talented these three heads are and they happened to be at the same school. Found each other, once performed in front of a man and his dog only and here they are.... what a great live band.
My english teacher, Mrs Proctor went to school with them!
At 2:35
If only for 25 seconds, these were truly the happiest people on the planet.
Fucking goosebumps
truth
yeah, this is mi fv with "En La ciudad de la furia" of Soda Stereo live, watch it
When I saw them live last year in Montreal I've never heard a crowd belting out song lyrics so harmoniously and with such passion. Still gives me flashbacks and goosebumps every time I hear this song.
There is no concert in our country😣😣 ....
2:37
No words just feelings
+RAWSOLDIER just 50,000 plugged in rome babies! :P
+RAWSOLDIER with no words they can't sing
+João Magalhães you can hum ;)
+RAWSOLDIER fucking awesome
+Bernhard Schnaubelt 60,000 ;)
At 2:35 in, when he gestures with his hand to ear, that it's time for the crowd to sing, and they absolutely belt out the lyrics! That is why being a Live musician will forever be more rewarding than a Famous Actor/Actress. You are getting immediate and genuine response, which you simply cannot replicate (for a famous Actor/Actress) when , for example, they attend their Hit Movie public premiere.
actor/actresses can witness the genuine response if they sneak in to the movie theater or perform in a play in a theater.
The fact the crowd sung every word. I’ve been to concerts like that and sung every word along with the crowd and my god, its an atmosphere you never forget. I also love the fact he ran all the way down the stage while still playing... Matt Bellamy is a total legend ❤️
In my dreams, im at this concert screaming till i lose my voice
Go watch Rush-YYZ Live in Rio,the crowd sing every note….to an instrumental
@@Steveoqotsathat happens with Muse too. We sing the instrumental jams in between songs too. We know it all by heart lol
I know. I remember my latest Muse gig, it was 2010 in a stadium and I swear when they played THIS song I became afraid that the entire structure would crumble from people jumping up and down and screaming every word. Then again I was at the top of the grandstand so I could hear the whole collective sound. It was incredible.
Muse gigs definitely don’t need to be seen from the front to really be grabbed and thrown into them, it’ll happen no matter where you are, and admittedly a lot of it is because of how dedicated the fanbase is.
I also remember me and my friend broke down crying when it was over. Just fucking amazing. Go to a show if you haven’t, it’s highly recommended.
for you guitarists out there, try running jumping and kicking in the air while playing that riff. if you can do that your name is probably Matt.
But what if you're polish?
Or Angus
i can barely play the riff without fucking up while standing still, so hats off to matt for being able to do it flawlessly while running and jumping
The riff is actually very simple to play. Granted kicking and swinging while playing guitar is fucking hard, it's not a hard riff to play. That's not a bad thing though, there's a reason why I focused so much on it when learning to play, because it sounds incredibly good compared to how simple it is to play.
Lol, Iron Maiden do harder riffs, kick, run and are way older than them.
2:35
This has to be one of the greatest moments in a live performance by a rock band. This is just beautiful.
Don't look back in anger argentina 2016...
Well.. Live Aid
@@louie8604 grave
The entire show is one of the best moments is rock history

00:28
For some reason, I feel like that must be the most legendary kick in rock history
WHY IS THIS SONG NOT IN THE ROME OLIMPIC STADIUM ALBUM ON SPOTIFY? WHY? It is one of the greatest version of a rock song. I want to add this to my spotify rock list :((
Yes, I noticed that too. It’s a really good version 🥲
he plays the riff while running......
I couldn't have done any of those things alone not to mention both at the same time 😁
It‘s doable.
+apostolos PAPADOPOULOS try it while running
I can play that riff behind my back, upside down, on a left handed and right handed guitar while sleeping. That riff is probably the thing I know best next to how to spell my name. I CANNOT for the LIFE of me play it whilst running. So before you go spouting off that it's not even that hard, please be courteous. Matthew Bellamy is incredibly talented, and acting like he's sub par just because apparently you can do something he can is discrediting him in a way that isn't necessary at all.
it really is not that bad
I swear to god usually live performances are not as good as studio versions but muse is seriously one of the few bands that actually sounds better live
Rush...Depeche Mode...
I agree like Iron Maiden pure fucking magic, an orgasm for your ears. So fucking electrifying!
green day, led zeppelin & iron maiden is one of them
Gojira
@@spike05 Gojira, TOOL, Muse, Slipknot. Had the PLEASURE to see SOUNDGARDEN (with Chris) and Alter Bridge live. The former 4 are on my to do list.
Without a doubt, like there's no debate - he is one of the most vocally talented singers in music history. Like you have to acknowledge that.
3 years from now, dom will be 50, matt & chris will be 49.. wishing them a good health so that they can play as awesome as this again 🥹 pls let me watch you guys one more time 🥲
I was there. Started out as a joke with my friends, like "oh haha wouldn't it be crazy if we took the plane and went to see them live in Rome because they're not coming to our country?" Next thing I know, we're soaking wet in the rain right outside the stadium, hours before the concert. "Soaked up Plug In Babies" as we called ourselves! I will never forget this concert. Still in awe of every note that blessed my ears.
Thats so amazing
@@systemcrasher lol thats such a weird question to ask out of context and even in context sounds a little strange
That's a great band name
So much rain that afternoon! Even once inside the stadium, but it was worth it :)
The Best Experience 😋
Muse. Sounding the same, both live and studio since 1994.
talent my friends, talent.
I think they're better live
Tekno Gecko They're much better on live
adanibo Oh yeah, really looking forward to hearing more of the new stuff live
Not exactly. In studio, the bass sounds like the Optimus Prime transformation on the Transformers cartoon... LoL
+DoctorRiley PhD no I think his voice has stabilized a bit if you listen to the old lives and then to this, anyways it's awesome both ways haha
Holy shit. One of the best vocals, guitarist, drummer and bassist all in one group.
Is it just me, or is this better than the studio version?
You're not alone my man ;)
Most of Muse live performance are better than their studio version imo
YEAAAH, THIS IS THE DEFINITIVE EDITION OF PLUG IN BABY
Way better than studio 😍
i forgot the stuido version existed since i saw this
one of my favourite riffs of all time
The fact that it's inspired by a classic piece... Makes it so good...
+Robert Kim lol dim as fuck
+Robert Kim what classical piece,
It's from Johann Sebastian Bach's Toccata and fugue in d minor
Haha wtf? I'm not talking about the intro to Toccata, but a couple minutes in you can clearly hear it sounds like the plug in baby riff!
Anyone else get major goosebumps from 2:35 - 3:00 ? Just absolutely beautiful
+Sasaki “The Black Reaper” Haise Why didn't you kill off Arima, Haise? He wanted to die so badly lol
YEESSS
Twan Duvigneau
Thousands of individuals all inspired in this single moment, you’re right, beautiful

Dom's head--banging from 3:10 - 3:20 really makes me appreciate his drumming more. He is so into their music it channels the feeling to dance and move around with the beat really shows deep passion into their music. Not all beats of drums you head-bang to, I play drums so I can relate to this. They came to Malaysia last weekend and it was the best concert I have ever been to and not because their music is good, but because of their efforts to give a full passionate show with amazing lighting, the big Mirror mask and their pyro displays. Attention to detail is what we as audience appreciates. I brought along my wife to the concert and never once my wife heard their songs prior to it, and after the concert her playlist was all Muse since their fist album.
Yes they are really quite addictive!
