A simple question why not CCI Stingers?
Simple answer:
1) Stingers are a 32 grain bullet, not really a fair comparison for the 40 grain projectiles in this presentation.
2) Someone sent me some hyper .22 ammo with light bullets. I'll use stingers as a basis of comparison for those in the near future.
I'd also like to send you some federal punch 22lr ammo.
One reason might be taking the distance your intended targets might be into consideration. When the projectile slows down to become transonic it can greatly affect accuracy. So much so, I've seen tests that prove subsonic .22LR is more accurate than the supersonic stuff when you move targets out. So if a person really wants to shoot 40 gr, then getting above 1300 (if you can) would let you shoot targets out to perhaps ~50-60 yards before dipping below the speed-of-sound and affecting accuracy.
@@PaulHarrell I have no idea where they get the 1640fps claimed on the box of the cci stinger. People seem to get more in the 1400s range
@@PaulHarrell There's a new Norma .22LR ammo out there, too, with a pretty impressive "claimed" velocity, Norma Eco-Speed, with a 24 grain projectile and a claimed velocity of 1706 fps on the box.
In a world where every video is about the newest, largest calibers,
Thanks for not forgetting about the .22
It's nice to have a .22 to go back to , after you break a shoulder with the .725 T-rex super magnum round. Eventually you might need something that's still legal in NY state.
Dudes be spending $1/round to shoot .300 blk.
The .22 is the round that is in the most homes and can be put to good use
@@joemama69448 you are correct, unless I'm mistaken in Virginia 223 isn't legal for deer
.22 has put more meat on the table yada yada ya
Hello! As a firearms enthusiast from Argentina, I just wanted to express my appreciation for your incredible gun content. Your videos have become a go-to source of inspiration and education for me, and I've learned so much from your expertise. Your passion and dedication to the art of shooting truly shine through in every video, and it's evident that you put a lot of effort into creating high-quality content. Keep up the great work, and thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion for firearms with all of us.
Your English is very impressive for a non-native speaker.
Hi Facundo!
I totally agree with your comments!!

Thanks Paul for you videos!!
Hi from Francarctica 😅
@@Mister_Belvidere Hi Mister Belvidere! Many of us down here in Argentina have very good levels in foreign languages... Also, for many people here (as for myself) it was a must as we work or worked for multinational companies (HP in my case)
Well said.
2:22 I love it when everything aligns and the camera actually catches the bullet.
I thought I was seeing things. Lol
Good catch, that was awesome!
@@ryanlong4021 same!
Saw that too. Pretty cool when it happens.
That was pretty cool. At 3:16, the fourth shot seems to not hit. I'm assuming it went right through another hole, but I have watched it a few times and don't see any deflection of the target for the fourth shot. If the pattern had been wider, or closer to the edge, I'd say it missed. But where they are hitting, I'd have to assume it went through a previous hole. Anyone see it?
CCI velocitor out of a rifle is adequate for self defense. I don't talk details, but I gave a family member several boxes to use with their self defense rifle. They sadly ended up having to use them and they were effective. I obviously did not ask her details about the shooting.
I'm glad I did what I did because the federal blue box lead round nose ammo that she had was not cycling the weapon reliably when we had gone out to practice. The CCI velocitors did not fail to cycle even once. Ammunition choice is paramount when using .22lr.
May I ask what rifle was used? Curious if it was a Ruger 10/22
@@the_weed_in_your_garden9319 S&W M&P 15-22 rifle. It was equipped with a shake awake red dot I zeroed for her and a weapon light.
@@cameronnorton5898 interesting. Thank you for the information. Good work. You saved a life
I have always maintained that a good .22lr rifle or pistol is ok for self defense if the right ammo is used. I myself have had the same thing happen. I gave a young woman some CCI STINGERS to keep in her 4" Taurus 9 shot .22lr pistol and she did wind up using it for self defense and it let her aslant laying right where she put 6 rounds in him. Truth be told, he was gone after 3 rounds center mass but she did as instructed and put the rounds on him till she thought the threat was over.
The standard deviation with the CCI 36 gr in a rifle was very impressive.
i noticed the consistency. I was hoping he'd give us some deviation analysis too
Sounds like a topic for Paul - does velocity consistency correlate with accuracy? I think velocity consistency is necessary for accuracy, but certainly does not guarantee it. All barrels are different.
@King Of Crunk
face it, we're nerds.
i embraced it long ago.
Have been impressed by CCI's consistency before (can't think of the right word). Have seen many velocity tests and gel tests that show how consistent they really are. They're definitely a high quality round. (edit: and a very reliable round).
Never a dull video from Paul. Considering the current cost of 22lr ammo and the results here, cost and availability are definite factors in my selection. Thank you Paul.
I was thinking the exact same thing
Don't forget that some 22s like some ammo more than others. I have a PWS summit that only loves Eley FML lol
Aguila is good ammo, usually at an economical price and shoots the best groups through my Marlin and Ruger bolt action rifles. Very consistent in my tests.
Just remember, advertised bullet velocities are based on the optimal barrel length used for testing said ammunition with an unworn barrel in optimal temperature, weather & altitude conditions. Also, ammo is kept at recommended temperature levels. With a worn barrel & cold temperature & other weather related factors can affect bullet velocity up to 200 fps.
Yeah, just like advertised MPG!
Thanks for the tip, I'll keep the ammo in an inside pocket.
@@george2113 Don’t kill the messenger of facts. You may not like them, but it’s the truth & you should do your own testing of the ammunition you buy to know how it reacts in certain conditions to fully understand what it’s capable of compared to the optimal conditions being advertised.
Usually 24" or 26" barrels.
Dont try this at home im what you call a professional
As always, Paul has given us something to think about. That's why we love and cherish him.
How do I know it's a good day? A new video from Paul!
I was somewhat amazed that you can actually tell from the sound as to what speeds you were getting, there is a "thump" with ammo below 1250 fps and more of a crack above 1250... just from listening I tried to guess the fps and was within +/- 20 of what you reported... when the one went off at 1000 fps I said "ooops it was bad" and it was. you have an awesome mic to be able to pick up the minor differences...
Paul can even tell you what kind of gun powder just by the burnt smell
1050 is the barrier of sub/supersonic
That one slow one sounded like a CO2 cartridge running low.
@@Hammerback0 Depends on environmental factors and altitude/atmospheric pressure. Higher in high temperature, high humidity, low altitude/high atmospheric pressure.
Now Paul, we all know your video's ARE the prize. 👍
5:27 Is the vanilla milkshake more effective than the strawberry milkshake in bringing all the boys to the yard? You be the judge!
Love the various Aguila .22lr ammo, whenever I hit the range with my .22's I got through a few hundred rounds of it.
I've had people poo-poo at it over the "Made in Mexico" label and the funky smell, but I don't care because it's cheap, accurate, available, and always works in my pistol, revolver, and rifle.
I like their 22 ammo, so far it's reliable and has been great in my firearms.
You know why the funky smell, right? It's the white stuff, gives the bullet a little extra
My only issue with Aguila was in a bulk pack I ordered online the ammo had a weird waxy coating on it. No issue with the 50round boxes or any other Aguila I've ever shot.
The funky smell is from its priming, known as "Eley priming".
Have to agree on the weird-smelling primers. Picked up some for my pistol, which didn't like it. Semi-auto and it's finicky. Going to try the remainder in my rifle. The price is right. Just need to find a firearm that will eat it reliably.
Vanilla milkshakes over Strawberry??! That’s crazy talk, Paul.
False. Paul is indeed correct
Game show buzzer sound. False. Strawberry shakes are, indeed, the worst of all the shakes. We would have taken: Chocolate, Vanilla, Peanut Butter, Banana.
@@harperhellems3648 you are drinking trash if you think vanilla shakes are better than strawberry shakes 🍓
@@timd729 Depends if its real or flavoring. I love some with real strawberries but the artifical ones taste like chemicals.
@@joehill4094 I agree, good thing is most strawberry shakes in fast food places use real strawberries. Blended smooth without being chunky, that hits the spot in the summer heat.
Great as always. For grins, I think it would be cool to see a “jackrabbit” meat target for the small game calibers.
that's a good idea. espicially with small game cartridges. I'd like to see a .223 using those hollowpoint predator rounds
Is there an affordable quality 22mag rifle?
@@george2113 Depends on what kind of rifle you want. 22 magnum semi-automatic is not impossible but it's kinda difficult to get right due to the nature of 22 magnum cartridges. Ruger used to make a 10-22 Magnum but I think it's long gone. Savage makes the A22 Magnum with some kind of delayed blowback semi-auto action, but I couldn't tell you how reliable it is. There are also some oddballs such as the CMR-30. Most people already have some kind of opinion about Keltec's quality, and that might include you. No judgement, like what you like.
22 magnum lever actions range from what some would call cheap junk Rossi up to what some would call overpriced Henry. Some would also call Henry "you get what you pay for, so buy once cry once" and some would call the Rossi "good enough for most needs and affordable for most people" so obviously your mileage and judgement may vary.
If you aren't looking for any kind of yeehaw rapid fire action, just a good plinker or varmint gun, the world of bolt actions is probably where you want to be. You can get a no-frills basic 22mag bolt gun for a few hundred bucks like the Ruger American Rimfire that is as accurate and reliable as you'd ever need, or you can spend a few hundred more and get a fancy tacticool version like the Ruger Precision Rimfire. Again no judgement here, get whatever fits your needs and makes you smile. Some other companies that make good affordable 22mag rifles are Savage and CZ, and I'm sure there are others. Either way, boltguns are probably the best place to get good quality 22 Magnum shooting without turning your wallet inside out.
EDIT: seems like Rossi isn't making lever action 22WMR anymore according to their website, but they might still be floating around on the market. They do have semi-autos now. I guess I'm a little behind the times. Again I can't tell you how good they are personally, so look up some reviews. UA-cam is a great resource for finding out which guns are worth the money.
@@george2113 If you mean a semi-auto: CZ 512 is available both in .22 lr and .22 WMR.
It’s been discontinued. Good luck finding one. If you do, the a-hole dealer wants $800 and up for one. Ugh….used car dealers are less swarmy than gun dealers.
when Paul Harrell says something is not bad. It means in our world it means super exceptional.
For me CCI MINI MAG is my go to simply because it always reliably feeds through all my 22 caliber guns for plinking. But I did just purchase an old Ruger Single six convertible that also shoots 22 magnum, so I would really like to see you do a comparison on that as well.
Thanks Paul you for all your awesome Ballistic content!
The biden regime aint having it.
For me I have never had on not go bang. With the Winchester I have about 82-85% chance of it going bang.
The pistol sounds nice, just got a Heritage convertable.
I typically use the Mini Mags too, mostly because they are reliable and I can get them almost anywhere.
@george2113 The Heritage is a popular choice, and you can’t beat the price. Paul did a video on the Heritage several months back. Mine is a 1972 3 screw in really good condition, and I couldn't pass it up.
My favorite 22 "hyper velocity" ammo is Remington Yellow Jacket. But that comes with a healthy dose of nostalgia because my teenage self thought the name was really cool.
Name was cool and it was cool ammo. Highly effective on ground squirrels/Jack rabbits. It's hard to find these days, but still cool ammo. We have presentations on it.
The accuracy of the Aguila surprised me. I shot a lot of Remington hyper velocity back in the 80s thru a Beretta Model 21A, which was probably the wrong gun for it in the first place. I never chronographed anything, but the hyper velocity had greater felt recoil than my regular Remington Golden Bullet. It cycled fine. Accuracy? Minute of tin can at 5-10 yard ranges. For anyone who has to rely on a 10/22 for last stand home defense, this is a good video to watch.
CCI works in my AR-22. Out of all the brands I've tried, I get the least amount of ftf's with them. I respect their consistency.
I was surprised at how much velocity was carried on the pistol. Goes to show how fast burning the powder is. Interesting stuff.
I really like the ammo comparisons. The range time, discussions, and the careful attention to detail, I like all of it. It gives me a basis to start for my own testing.
Thorough analysis, as always!! With centerfire ammo prices through the roof, the lowly .22 is getting more and more attention (and it's not so lowly!). Very timely topic. Excellent video!!
Great video Paul. I'm always testing different varieties of 22 LR from my 10/22, but alas, no chrono. This was enlightening, thank you.
2:21 - Kinda cool. The 5th round actually caught on camera in flight.
Best gun content on UA-cam. Thank you
Thank you for everything you do and your hard working crew. I am always leary of Anything that has the words HYPER...in it! It usually means just hype! Your comparison and analysis of the different types of ammunition is always appreciated and very informative as you always say "you be the Judge" about what works best for you!!
I consider my Ruger 10/22 to be one of the funnest guns I own. Cheap ammo, large capacity, and semi auto all make this gun a blast to shoot.
Put a binary trigger in it. Trust me.
Your videos feel more authentic than many other channels. I like how you show us all the data, how you collect it, and even leave in the “bad” groups and mistakes.
Thanks for the video and data. I've been using the Winchester 40 "hyper velocity" ammo for years in my Ruger SR22, they seemed to have more punch or pressure to reliably cycle the small pistol unlike some of the other high velocity or standard velocity ammo did.
Paul, Thank you for the well conducted comparison. For what it is worth, most of my .22 action is out of an MP22. For reliability, consistency and accuracy, I found Aguila and CCI out perform everything else with the Aguila coming out on top. I have no experience shooting that stuff out of a bolt action. My 2c.
Aguila is top notch pills
Freedom Seeds baby!
Most often, I enjoy sitting through the "tedious chronograph testing".
Just couldn't do it today.
I was all hopped-up on Pop Tarts.
I had a toaster strudel hangover myself.
Always impressed with your break down of the velocities and memorizing the numbers and differences
I wonder if he makes two cardboard sheets with the numbers. One he looks at behind the camera and the main one we see him standing next to.
I think he stares into the camera lens and writes the entire board by memory with a Sharpie, without looking at the board. Hahaha
The .22LR videos always show that it's a mean little round no matter how pitiful it might be in comparison to its larger "real rifle" brothers. It wouldn't be my first, second, or third choice for self/home defense for me, but if you've got a wife/gf, a young son, or an older relative who might not be that comfortable with guns or strongly dislike recoil, a mag dump from a .22LR rifle stands a real good chance of sorting out trouble. And the fact that you can nearly effortlessly make a dozen center mass hits in quick succession is definitely worth considering. One or two hits from an AR will of course be better, but handing your 10/22 off to the spouse or eldest child just in case wouldn't be totally useless.
This is a very good video Paul, thank you for the time and effort you put into this. It has a lot of knowledge in 24 min video. Great content
I tend to prefer Minimags just because it seems to feed the best in a semi that is ammo finicky
All of our .22s are happy to munch on Minimags. I prefer Stingers, but they're a bit pricey. They do, however, really give my pistol's slide the hard smack it needs to cycle well.
I finally figured out how the term "Off Hand" makes sense. I thought it was using your non dominate hand and was corrected. It simply means "off your hands". Not off a bench or rest of some kind. I can be slow sometimes...
Always happy to see a new video from Paul and this is one of the few channels that I will watch them all no matter what the topic
I remember when Paul Harrel used to be the best gun channel on youtube.... and how he still is... pfffft... exceptional af
love this guy... all business...talks fast...gets it done! thank you paul
Way back in the day, I used to shoot those fluffy Triceratops with the little cotton tails with Remington's Yellowjackets. Are they still around? The ammo, not the bunnysaurs. Those Yellowjackets used to shoot so well out of the borrowed Brno Model 2.
The Yellowjackets are still around and still fun to shoot.
Thanks Paul for making another video 👍
Mr.Harrel , you are the most Has his shit together and master of the dry person I can think of . Thank' you for your microgiveashit .
Great video , Mr. Harrell ! I usually purchase the ammo I use based on the printed velocity on the box. What I see is that they're all significantly below rated velocity and that's from a rifle length barrel . I was surprised to see that there was only a loss of about 100 fps when you fired the same ammo out of the handgun . I was expecting a lot less . I guess you'd have to use .22 magnum ammunition to even come close to these advertised velocities . Well , thank you very much , you're the "truth revealer" !
Excellent testing, concise video presentation. Paul has the eyes of an eagle, the way he can read the chronograph from 21 feet away!!
Thanks for covering all my questions, and covering the content I like. Now I’d just love to see a Super Wrangler review from you.
your timing on this one is great Paul, I just compared a 12 different boxes of shells for my 22, nice to see how your results compare to mine.
my stand out winner was norma tac-22 not the cheapest not the most expensive.
I like Norma, seems good in every caliber we have...the tac22 ammo easily equal to the cci standard velocity...
As I begin to watch the video, that Winchester Super-X jumps out very quickly. I had a recent, within the last month, experience with 2 boxes(200 rounds total) of that stuff. My 64F absolutely hated it. The gun would not pick up a new round, ejection extremely weak, plopping onto the bench I was shooting from, not even skidding off to the ground.
My TX22, which had, before trying the Super-X, a whopping 3 malfunctions in total across several thousand bulk and premium cartridges, also had issues with it. Out of 200 rounds, between the two firearms, I had 17/100 and 29/100. I know the numbers exactly, as I counted and emailed Winchester about the major disappointment of their supposedly quality ammo.
Edit to add : they were LESS accurate than federal automatch(36 and 40gr both) too.
All that said, I look forward to seeing Paul's experience now :)
Great piece of work! Your comparison of various .22LR cartridges is highly instructive.
I cant wait to see Paul pass 1million subscriptions. Talk about earning every single one
His channel growth seemed to slow down noticeably after about 700,000.
@@Salieri47 I agree, but I'm sure itll continue. Especially with as much gun safety he preaches. If everyone in the USA learn from Paul, things would be much better
👍👍Thanks Paul, I really appreciate all your videos.
When shooting/testing many different .22LR ammo brands and types, you should always expect the first 5-15 rounds of each type to be "foulers". That's because nearly all .22LR manufacturers use different lubricants, waxes, oils and other substances to coat the bullets ( and sometimes cases). It takes a few shots to erode away the previous cartridge's type of lube for the current one's. That's why you will get weird aberrant behavior in both velocities and grouping, sometimes to the point that the first 10-15 rounds will make you think the ammo is junk.
Also, Lot-to-lot variation in the exact same ammo can be very different, which is why PRS Rimfire and .22LR Benchrest shooters do a LOT of ammo testing, and buy up huge supplies of certain lot numbers once they find something their rifle "likes".
Also, some types of .22LR ammo are very purpose specific, and don't/won't necessarily perform up-to-snuff outside those conditions ( Biathlon ammo is a perfect example, as the powder charges, priming compounds and lubricants are meant to operate in winter conditions from +5C to-20C ( 41*F to -4*F). In the summer heat, some of those are downright slimy or gummy to work with, while in their intended conditions are amazing.
Also, You can spend a small fortune buying the best .22LR ammo you can find , i.e. RWS R-100, ELEY Tennex or Lapua X-Act and it will shoot terribly in some rifles, while just decent mid-priced ammo can shine with tiny cloverleafs, and vice-versa.
Even several different examples the exact same rifle can "like" completely different ammo... or be completely terrible with others that perform well in most.
Thanks for your service to our country Paul.
Wow! THANK YOU for all of that work! And thanks to the donor who kindly supplied the bullets! What surprises me is how INCONSISTENT the performances of ALL of the rounds were. Alas, what does not surprise me is how ALL of the brands were far below stated box velocities. It is very useful to actually see the performances be universally disappointing! It is also useful to see what a very well performing rifle you have there...........................elsullo
That's .22LR for you.
Nowhere near as consistent as even military surplus centerfire.
Mr.Harrell, thank you once again for another very informative presentation. You have briefly described different set-ups for pistol aiming (isosceles triangle & modified weaver). Would you do a more in-depth presentation on these styles? Also would you discuss the proper way to hold your pistol when shooting?

Thank you Harrell for your videos, I'm from Argentina, after much years of thinking about being a weapon's owner
I finally have my license and thank to your videos i have a LOT o great material to train the basic of firearm safety and practices
We need to petition the companies to sell the "magical barrels" that give such GREAT velocities! Interesting the Kel-tec PMR 30 (22WMR - 4.3 inch barrel) pistol has just about the same velocities as your 10-22 with 40 grain bullets. Maybe someday you could do a side-by-side.

Very informative as usual! I'd loved to have seen some CCI Stingers thrown into this mix!
Yeah I don't understand why the best was left out.
I find, based on my experience, Aguila Ammo as a whole is generally good, just very dirty ammo, and depending on caliber and location, way more affordable than remington or winchester or fiocchi or some others
Some say all those .22lr rounds are still bouncing around in the meat target to this day
That was a awesome video thank you Paul for the time it took appreciate your time and expertise
Thanks Paul ! your meat targets are the best on youtube for showing real world results ! 22 lr is a viable round for self defense ! 99.9 percent of us will never need to test that thank goodness ! but im guessing if i had to face off against a bad guy they wouldn't know the difference between a 22 or 10mm ... they'd be trying to get away from it !
Bad guys may or may not know they were hit if shot with a .22, but they will know they've been shot if they were hit by bullets fired from a 1911.
Perfect time for something like this for me. Finally just got a .22 LR for plinking and just waiting until my range orientation before I can start my shooting.
Settled on Velocitors a long while back and this bears out my experiences. Seems like I get the best terminal results with them on groundhogs and other varmints vs other brands and types. I chronographed them and got in the range of 1250+ fps out of my rifle as well. This was a useful comparison for me! Thanks!

I love your videos!! Very well done sir as always.
I have noticed we get closer to stated velocity when shooting high or hiper velocity ammo in a rifle with a locked breech, rather than a semi-auto. This seems especially true in guns with a fairly tight chamber and bore.
Thank you, Mr. Harrell.
Thanks Paul for a great presentation. Something you talked about point of aim and point of impact. Personally I never had any issues with 22lr doing that whether I'm shooting pistols or rifles. And I have pretty good selection of guns in 22lr from semi auto pistols and rifles to lever action, bolt action single shot and revolvers. The 22lr seems to be pretty accurate no matter what bullets or guns I use. I've watched many of your videos where there was significant shift in other calibers but even in today's video there was very slight change but in my opinion not enough difference to make a difference. It appears to me that if you were hunting squirrels, rabbit, snake's or rat's they all were good enough to get a killing shot. If you have a different opinion please let me know or explain it. Is it my imagination or is 22lr just that perfect little round that's just accurate and consistent with the caveat that you have some odd rounds that either misfire or are under power but for the most part 95 percent of the time it's just an accurate round to shoot no matter what combination of rifle, pistol, or bullets you use.
The best ammo for my Ruger 10/22 is by far the Federal "AutoMatch". I tested accuracy with my specific rifle with 10 different types of ammo at ranges of 20,50 and 100 yards from a bench rest on a day with close to 0 mph wind. The Federal Automatch was hands down the most accurate in my gun. Results may vary for others.
Mixup98 has a video showing the crap reliability he had with at least two different batches of Federal Automatch. Edit: He didn't shoot it for exacting accuracy.
@@Salieri47 Good to know. I didnt test for reliability.
My 10/22 groups well with winchester white box. Haven't tried Federal.
@@donaldmack2307 I'm thinking a bolt or lever rifle (does anyone still shoot pump/slide action rifles?) with a solid firing pin strike would be less finicky with the Automatch. IIRC Mixup98 shot only semi-autos. But every gun can perform differently.
Color me surprised. I’ve heard more complaints about Federal Automatch than probably anything else.
Hyper Velocity... seems like a lot of Hype to me. ^~^ Thanks Paul, I'll stick with my CCI's and old Winchester Super-X.
Missed ya glade your back with some more cool information Paul more vids guy there awesome stuff
I went to the public range the other day and shot a bunch of .22 LR at 4 inch targets, just to see how it all compared. (And to have fun.) First, I'm not trying to compare myself to Paul. I was actually surprised at what I got. Several months of exercises, stretching, physical therapy, and such has given me much less shake and weaving than I had 6 - 12 months ago. Then I'd have been lucky to get any in a 4 inch target. Even with Paul's distinguished gray hair, I probably have 20 - 25 years on him.
What I had:
- Federal Champion 36 grain, copper plated, hollow point (525 round value pack) .22 LR with listed 1260 fps muzzle and 1000 fps at 100 yards. Did not check speeds.
- 1954 Marlin 39A with 24 inch barrel
- Targets at 25 yards (indicated at range, did not measure)
- some light wind occasionally
What I did:
- First grouping was all over a 4 inch target, centered 1 in. high, 1 in. right. This location remained consistent on all shots later.
- Second grouping roughly 2 in wide by 1 in high.
- Third grouping 2-1/2 in wide by 1 in high
- Fourth grouping 2-1/2 in wide by 1-1/2 in high
- Fifth grouping 2 in wide by 1 in high
I'm not hinting to be as good as Paul or even close, or to have his expertise, but what I am suggesting is that maybe the expensive ammo isn't really all that much better. This box of Federal 525 round pack was $25.99 at a pawn shop in 9/2020 when prices were going up, so it really isn't expensive stuff (5 cents per round).
Paul,
In the future, can you shoot a baseline of some of the cheap Remington or Federal that most us probably shoot for a comparison? I know everyone has to have the CCI but I really wonder if there is a significant difference other than price?
The man the myth the legend!!!
Brilliant video, as always. So worth watching and always top draw presentation.
22lr videos are my favorite!
I've noticed that most of the .22's I shoot, benefit from a handful of 'fouling shots' between brands or other major characteristics in order to settle in with a decent group. (Ie. shoot a string of one brand then shoot five or so rounds of the new brand you want to shoot until the group settles down then shoot for record.) DISCLAIMER: JUST MY PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES.
Thank you Paul.
Thank you for this useful info when purchasing 22LR.
Paul you do a great job with this stuff 👍
I know you are a great shot, but I really would enjoy seeing a group off of the bench at 50 of each as well to help assess 22lr. Having said that, I'm not Paul Harrell, just some nobody lol (I know you are demonstrating practical applied accuracy)
Very good, Paul! Great info for sure. The numbers being so low makes me wonder what they use to get the numbers on the box for velocity.
This is a great test ! Same .22 ammo brands I shoot most of the time ! Well done !
Sounds like you got the only inconsistent batch of Velocitors that I ever heard of. 😊
This was a great presentation and one that I was hoping you’d do at some point. Well done. Maybe you could do a Velocitor vs Stinger some time.
I like and have a good bit of each of the ammos tested but I always felt the Veloctors had the most satisfying thump out of my various items (Ruger Single Six 6 1/2”, Henry H001 18 1/2” and Remington 572 22”) and seemed to be the most consistent…making me look almost competent. I don’t hunt, so I never worried about expansion, although some tomatoes and dog food cans did make a nice pop with them.
Good videos as always, would like to see some on the 22 magnum
If only something existed where you could just type in something you want to see, select a video, and watch it...
He's got about a half dozen of them.
oh heck yeah.
@@mattmarzula using a rifle?
Send him the ammo, and he may do it.
Thanks for making the 22llr Hyper Velocity Ammo Comparison video.
Re: First target , fifth round . CCI's new Hyper Trace Mini Mag ammo ? Cool Camera , surprised to see that . Thank you for posting ! Love the deer wandering around the range in the background shots . Funny as hell ! Never ever mention them . If you don't look a deer in the eye it remains invisible.
