If you charge at home, most people could run a car with 200 mile range for a week. If it has the Tesla standard charge port, it would be fine for road trips. Tesla charging centers are available all over the country, and 200 miles without stretching the legs is a pretty long distance...

I understand that Aptera does not qualify as a car, because it's got 3 wheels, but Alex you should be able to use it just like any car. It should be coming to market later on 2024. That is the best entry on the EV space as best I can tell.
Aptera is not mini car or bike or trike though. It's similar dimensions as Model 3 and probably slightly wider because of the side wheels sticking out a bit. Sadly
Alpine isn’t a new company, they have made pimp models from Renault ones for at least 50 years. They do the same as Abarth does with Fiat.

BYD Dolphin is coming to my country next month and the price is about 2/3's of that of the mini. The dolphin offers much more than the mini as well as more range.
Any New BYD coming?
The BYD Seagull, now being release in some markets as the Dolphin Mini, is their mini EV. Was release last year in China, and now in 2024 in some other markets, it is already one of the highest selling EVs, but Alex does not seem to cover BYD, as even though he is no longer in the US, the focus of the videos is cars sold in the US.
One of these days, I'll actually get my car built. 😅

If I had to return to the office and need another car I would consider the electric Mini, but it's extremely unlikely the price will make it a good value.

Alpine is Renault. Expect it to be the super sport version of the little Renault.

We need basic city commuters in the USD $15,0000 to $18,000 price range without government bribes. Of course, this puts constraints on battery size, but hey, you don't need a lot of range for getting around town.
And don't tell me it can't be done (Nissan Sakura - USD $13,000).
Electric car sales are dropped also dramatically in Europe, Mercedes and others continue with combustion/hybrid engines

Only non-Tesla EV's… Tesla is still up, despite shifted sales from Q4 to Q3 due to buyers rushing their orders due to GD subventions cancellation…

Mercedes is down in general, due to poor manufacturing - it may be more than acceptable in U.S., but in EU you can't call yourself "premium brand" and have creaking dashboard, doors, etc. in almost every car and forgotten free bolts rolling in the floor in multiple cars as well…
Fiat was a disaster in the United States and this will be no different. I’ve literally never seen an electric Mini on the roads in Texas and they’ve been out for a few years.
I don't think my wife will let me buy another EV, since we already have a VW Buzz. That said, the Renault R4 in yellow just looks like a hot hatch should. I would vote for it.

C for car is much better name!
Renaults had terrible reliability last time they were sold in the USA. There aren't any dealers or parts availability and they won't get the big rebate. So good luck with that.
