      They match the car. Post 2005 it seems that the factory wheels are better matched than whatever Joe goofball puts on. They give a shit, charge huge numbers for the upgrade or the package, and real designers match them to the car, the stance, everything.

      I immediately knew it had to be an E39 M5 because I’ve seen a fs on FCP Euros insta with over 400k miles and they’re generally decent cars. Plus the manual tip. As I knew there wasn’t going to be a manual E60 with over 300k, let alone over 400k.

    Chilling the fuel makes a huge difference under boost and cools the air also. You will not be able to see a change in temps on the gauge but between the injector and the combustion chamber will drop significantly yielding more power and will help prevent any kind of detonation. If you are going to keep running the smaller pulley.

    Here is another thing you can do on valve covers you got 3 breathers for oil evaporation. This dumps hot dirty oil vapors in to your throttle body. Plug the inlets up at the throttle and use nice long hoses placing them back of the engine letting vapors vent outside like old school muscle cars. Not only will your sc be cleaner it will also run cooler also I never got any oil drip just make sure hoses are long enough so that you don't smell any vapor

    Great video!
    Several runs, clear video of all gauges, etc.
    I would love to have seen the AFR overlay on the graphs. But UA-cam does a good job at 25% playback speed.
    At 06:10 the AFR dips down to 10.54 at 130 mph and 6400 rpm.
    There are 2 runs that sets of alarm bells with me. In both of those the AFR bounces, which is never good.
    But as you say it's a tuned car so the tune is probably off a little.
    But I would look into it and have the fluctuations ironed out. Just because it bounces way to much under max load.
    Good luck with your new project car! =)
    Greetings from Sweden.

  • @DuffyF56
    @DuffyF56 4 роки тому +2

    I think you may have a misconception concerning "boost". More boost does not necessarily mean more power. Boost is really a measurement of the difference in air flow the motor is "pumping" vs the amount of air flow your supercharger is producing. The excess air from the supercharger creates a back pressure which we commonly refer to as boost. Exhaust mods increase the ability of the motor to flow air and while boost pressure may lower you are capable of making more power if you are flowing more air. If boost drops off with an unrestricted inlet as engine rpm increases, that is a tell tale sign the supercharger volumetric efficiency (air cfm in vs. air cfm out) is dropping off. The Twin Screw (and YES the E55 has a Lyschom twin screw supercharger NOT a Roots Type) produces approx. the same boost at any engine rpm. Every revolution of the Twin Screw delivers the same cfm or liters per revolution i.e. 2L per revolution at 2000-6000. That’s why these superchargers are referred to as “positive displacement.”

    I hear you alex, i raced my cls55 just to see what it does, i felt like the computer pulled a lot of timing on mine, my IATs were at 145 degrees, thats just with the upgraded pump, engine temps were in the 199-200s, on a hot las vegas weather 98 degree day, air density was around 5000ft, i did 3 runs and they were all in the 13.2x at 105.8 mph with a crappy 2.001 60ft, not really disappointed compared to the rest of the other cars , but the point is heat is our big enemy on this engines, i need to split the cooling system for sure.

    400k miles and my first guess was an air-cooled 911, but if the soundclip means anything there's no way. I know they made a change to fix oil consumption problems during production, but afaik they never changed the official power ratings, though the changes undoubtedly reduced power somewhat.

    Intake temp is known to be a big deal, as there used to be a Moroso Cool Can the fuel line would run through but not that much help as the volume of fuel is about 1:11.5 to air. So cool the air. Obviously. But the differences can be astounding! My Magnum RT is another car altogether when the atmospheric conditions are right. Chilly days with cool maybe 50% humidity at anywhere between say 40 degrees and about 55 or so and the thing feels like a different engine. Summer time heat soak, it becomes a dog, no bottom end. But winter time not too cold because the humidity drops, and the tires will smoke from a 15 mph roll till the upshift. One time last week I cleared the computer and I don’t know why but it seemed to just explode. I’ve never had it shift into second and keep smoking the tires. The back end was loose at about 45 mph car speed(70 wheel speed) and I was smiling like that first lay with a new lady friend. You know what I mean. Smiles for miles. Smoke em if you got em.

    The AMG V12 is reduced in power, but in torque and not HP. The engine produces up to 1.300 NM torque, but is limted to 1.000 NM to protect the drivetrain. A drivetrain that could handle 1.300 NM would make the car to heavy.

      Does look dodgy, dunno if I'd like my car moving like that on a dyno but the place I use has a single roller setup so they are really well strapped down, maybe that colours my opinion.

    • @IINNTTMMDD88
      @IINNTTMMDD88 4 роки тому

      Strapping a car down on the dyno for best result comes with some experience. The more power it makes the tigher you need to pull it down....otherwise it will usually end up with tire spin at the beginning of the run, especially if forced induction and end up recovering traction by redline. If you over tighten straps on a lower powered naturally aspirated vehicle you will reduce power due to increased friction. I've found that a good solution is to increase the traction on the roller rather than increasing load by tightening straps or adding straps. Napa belt dressing 1397 lightly sprayed on dyno rollers and tires after initial run gets most street cars hooked up.

    Long tube headers make the engine run way more efficient so yeah you’re gonna loose boost pressure, I’ve had customers pissed off because their 76 pulley is only making 10lbs, even though it pulls way harder, obviously making more power, the internet is obsessed with numbers...sigh! One thing though you’re probably not gonna like that fixed pulley, it makes the engine way too aggressive as you’re pulling away in traffic, the drivability sucks to be honest not to mention it’ll make your blower sound like it’s chewing rocks but hey to each their own!

    Do they do a larger crank pulley? That combined with the smaller s/c pulley you mentioned on getting should add up to even more boost.

      yes, stock is about 154, max size with custom water pump pulley for fitment is 205

    strong car lots of miles on it too. i made stock pulley power 461 on the dynamics 498hp on my dynojet my 122mph trap speed is more inline with the dynojet if i told someone at the track that knew cars my car makes 461hp and then i trap 122mph with a heavy car they would know my hp is off.

    They were out of 72mm pulleys so I had to order a 74mm one. Now I know who got the 72mm before me :)

    It shouldn't be difficult to determine which dyno is closer to being accurate - dyno a stock vehicle and compare to the known factory numbers. If you've got one dyno that's in the ballpark and another that's significantly lower or higher than where it should be, you know which one is more accurate.

    Why don't go for the AC connected to the heat exchanger and get crazy low Temps

    • @piciu256
      @piciu256 5 років тому +3

      Because that doesn't work this way, it would lower the Temps a bit, but not by much, the ac system is not that powerful really.

    Alex, where are your EGR valves??

  • @miltonbalambanos

    Hi Alex, how does one increase boost by changing pulleys, if the bypass valve opens at 0.8 bar . Thanks

    • @sfertonoc
      @sfertonoc 5 років тому

      Reduce pulley size at turbine or increase it at intake compressor, but you will get a bigger lag. To reduce lag the bypass would have to open up at first to increase spool up time and then shut after it is spooled up.

      I have a 180mm pulley on the crank , complete exhaust system and tune and still 0.8 bar boost. I was hoping at least for 500hp
      But got 421hp.

    Not sure about the factory power reduction due to a manual transmission, but I’m guessing a E60 M5?

    At the start when you said “400 thousand mile” I thought for sure it was the e55 you did a video on a couple of years back. Then you said manual transmission at the end so that is a no go!

    You’re loosing power because of the facelift bumper and mirrors. I heard those mods kill horsepower...
