This past summer when I was in the USA on vacation, we ended up in a location where a couple from the USA. They asked us what our opinions were of Trump. I avoided the question, but that has been pressed further, telling me that my avoidance was a definite answer. He pressed further, so I said a simple statement along the lines of, a lot of us don’t understand his reasoning and the lies that he tells. At this point, the wife got belligerent with me and I said they’re in awkward silence for the rest of the 10 minutes that I was in the room with them. The only reason why am writing this up, is that it was actually quite scary. For the rest of the vacation, whenever an American would ask us what we thought about Trump, which happened quite often, we just kept her mouth shut and with smile and change the subject. All that I can say, is that from an outsiders point of view, it’s actually quite scary what’s going on in your country right now.

Personally, I just want to see the country succeed and not be overcome by nationalist fascism. Once we had conservatives that helped maintain a balance with the liberals and kept the country on a pretty acceptable track, now there are Liberals and Nationalists. The Conservatives are all but gone. Now the country is on a dangerous path with no True Conservatives left of keep the scales in equilibrium. The success of the nation isn't solely dependent on the success of the President (that logic is a perfect example of how Conservatism is dead). The success of the nation hinges on our ability to improve in all corners of society, from the politicians in Washington to the bankers in New York to the teachers all across the country. We stand on each other and in doing so lift the nation up. Decency, honesty, and tolerance are what makes this country great and Trump is doing nothing to bring those things back. If having "a brain eating disease" gives you a sense of how things could be better instead of how they are wrong, then this country needs an epidemic. If you are ever in a natural disaster, I hope "the liberals" let you rebuild you life from scratch all on your own.
