@@barbarabuonincontro1990 He and Kobe Bryant's death affected me. When David passed, I was so upset. Part of my childhood died. My heart just broke and it cried. I even had a dream last night that I was married to him. I got mad at him for something and I said, " I love my husband. I want him back." He walked away from me and I went after him. Weird huh? 😄
You probably already know this but that is Shirley Jones in the background with that high pitched voice. Love his music and if he had not been thought of as a teeny bopper I feel very confidant he would have blew up big time. David himself said many times he wanted to do harder rock but they kept him keyed down soft. I play these songs with my band and they always get a huge response and not just from the girls. He was also a super nice person. I do original songs as well as a few from the 60's thru the 80's. Some 90's. RIP David Cassidy.
David Cassidy touched a generation with his music and personality. He was quite the musician and entertainer. All of his fans will greatly miss him. Rest in peace David.
I have this album. It was the first solo album by David Cassidy. Following this album, I had every single CD he recorded and released on his own. If he thought his music was unappreciated, he was so wrong. His wife sang back-up on one of his first solo albums; I wish he knew how much he remained loved after being "Keith Partridge". I truly loved David Cassidy. xox I will always miss you, David. I had no idea how unhappy life was for you; however, now that I understand it, it hurts me deeply that you are gone. "What a Waste of Time" ... it wasn't wasted time, David. You were truly loved after the Partridge Family, and yes, many of us continue to love your music, even today, that YOU wrote and sang. You will never be able to be replaced; my only regret is that you did not have the opportunity to know how many of us loved you. Rest in Peace, David. I know that you are in such a beautiful place within Jesus' love, and most surely are gaining all true love that seemed to pass you by while on earth. God Bless You.
Thank you, Nancy! Not many people realize that he was already beginning to work on his own music while still starring as "Keith Partridge". He would finish the show and race over to the recording studio in order to practice his own music. I'm fairly certain that I have every solo album he put out on his own; "CHERISH" was one of his first! What hurts me the most is that he was so loved; above and beyond both the Beatles and Rolling Stones combined, and yet his last words were, "What a Waste of Time". Danny Bonnaduce has those words engraved upon his own heart, in loving memory of what David Cassidy achieved. As he grew older, so did we ... that, by no means, is indicative of how much we loved and appreciated his talents - both acting AND singing! I will always love his music, whether it was he who wrote it (or together with Tony Romeo - "Partridge Family" songs) but appreciate his solo music as he, too, grew older with us!
I agree. That was beautifully said Patricia Kuryluk. I was very moved and felt your pain. If there is a "forever" then David Cassidy is there and will be surprised by how many people loved him and will keep his music and memory alive. It is very sad that he felt it was a waste of time. Even though he struggled in his life, that is what made him David Cassidy and his fans never held it against him or turned away.
Such a talent and oh what a package it was in. I fell so in love with my teen idol. Rest In Peace David. Broke my heart to find out how he struggled later in his life.
David Cassidy will always have a place in my heart. My first concert, first "crush", his music helped me thru so many things. He was a true angel on earth. I know he is resting peacefully in Jesus' loving arms.
David Cassidy is a legend. There aren't many people around now with his talent even though he is not with us any more. I adored the Partridge Family all those years ago, and at my age 69 I still adore listening to his music!!!
David Cassidy deserves to be inducted in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You cant change history. He was selling out the biggest stadiums, he was selling the most records. He broke concert sales. He had a bigger fan club than Elvis and The Beatles. He put pooka shells on the market. He set the example of what can happen if you allow your name and likeness to be used without proper negotiation so that all that followed didn't fall into the same trap. He sang several genres of music. He coproduced and rewrote and performed and sang in the biggest extravaganza in Las Vegas at that time called EFX. He also produced At The Copa and The Rat Pack is Back. Not only was he a fantastic vocalist, he was a lyricist and a writer and a multi-talented musician and a director and a producer and a television and stage actor. He thrilled audiences for almost 50 years. He is loved to this day. We should all.be writing TRRHOF asking that David receive a nomination, followed by an induction.
He was an amazing and talented man how lucky we where to have him forever long or short he was the first concert that i ever been to i will and treasure and remember always ❤R.I P.. sweet angel and keep on rockin in heaven and ❤️ making music with that beautiful voice of yours ❤️
His voice never to be forgotten I love to hear David sing takes me to a time when his inspiration was so beautiful perfect and never will be forgotten ❤️🙏
Revisiting some of Dr's songs which remain etched in my memory from early childhood. Some artists simply have something special and have a timeless quality. Songs of his have 'soulful' dimension, this being one. "How can I be sure" is another gem. So sad that he had such a struggle in life, but I know this feeling well. RIP David... from a fellow traveller.
I have been a fan since I was 15 and maybe I think this is my favorite 💖💖💖...then I hear another by him...h was so gorgeous...I thought they all were my favorites... maybe this one might be special
Some things ARE forever. You were exceptional. Your songs brought me so much joy ... and your smile (I was a kid BUT I knew how special you were) ... Forever in my heart!
I still miss him. I'm glad I caught the tale end of one of his last Las Vegas shows (I got lost on my way to the venue). I wish I could have talked to him. Couple years later, he was gone.
I live in Australia but I remember the Partridge family and it was fantastic. David Cassidy was so talented, and his son Beau can remember a cool dad and I'm sure a nice person.
I grew up with David Cassidy music since 1971. The ironic thing is my friend Richie Furay and David were great friends. There is concidence in life. They both love singing love songs. The Partridge family suppose to take place in Ohio where Richie is from RIP David. Going to miss him🐑🐑🐑😢
What a easy to listen to voice. I think I'm going to cry. He should have been a super super super star. So much pain. All of our adoration couldn't fix it. Parents need to nurture. You WILL cause your children to suffer
Shame he couldn’t embrace himself as he simply was: beautiful, authentic and so talented. He questioned himself too much and got lost in his emotions…Such a beautiful soul….Life is just to live and to understand…..grow to get wiser and not needing all answers so it gets so painful……..

I think this may be my favourite song of his. He made singing sound effortless, the way it flowed. Gorgeous too. Took your breath away...

Obsessed listen to him everyday
Had this play at my dads funeral. RIP pops and DC
Even though he was seen as heart throb, the quality of this performance transcends that category.
