A short DIY narrated project for those interested in how to remove the inner door panel on a 2014 Porsche 991 C4S. The procedure is simple, and only requires interior trim tools and a hex bit. I walk through each step for removal, then in reverse re-installation of the trim panel.

Holy shit. One of my buttons on my window switch broke on my '14 991 C4S Cabriolet. I figured, WTH, let me just check with Porsche and see what they'll charge me. Are you ready for this??? Porsche San Diego told me, parts and labor...$800. Yes...you heard right...Eight Hundred dollars!!! I bought the new switch on ebay for $32. with free shipping. I followed your video which was great. Thirty minutes later, I have 768 extra dollars in my wallet...thanks to you!!!!

Also you actually have to lift up on the door panel to remove it. there are 5 or 6 jay hooks built into the plastic on the back of the door panel.
Really clear video - wasn’t sure how you removed the door pull though - does that white retainer just pull off?
This is an excellent video. However having just followed it to remove my own door panel, there are a few comments/additions I think it's worth making. i.) What it doesn't cover very well is disconnecting and reconnecting the door latch cable. This isn't easy and is covered a bit better in the following video ua-cam.com/video/rMc9SeLAr3o/v-deo.html 2.) This video gives the impression that the panel 'hinges' on and off from the bottom. It isn't quite like that in my experience. The method by which the panel hangs on the door is via a number of plastic hooks that engage with equivalent receptacles on the door side. When I removed the four Torx screws, unlike in the video I found the panel very reluctant to budge, particularly at the rear. The trick isn't to 'hinge' it out but instead to press upwards fairly forcibly from the bottom of the panel to force the hooks up and out of the receptacles. Reinstallation is the reverse - press the panel into the door in a vertical plane and press down forcibly on the top trim 3.) It's also worth checking the each hook receptacle has in place a rubber cover that is designed to prevent vibration. The rattle in my door could be traced to incorrect placement of one of these covers. But overall thanks GTSilver for a very helpful film.
What about passengers door?
Does anyone know if the piece forward of the one behind the door handle, the one that surrounds the memory settings, also comes out? I am thinking about painting it.
dealer wants 1 hour for each door labor to remove door panes so they can install puddle lights for my new 992... does that make sense?
That’s why they call them “stealerships”. They make as much if not more money on services as they do selling cars.
