Great video. It was very helpful when I replaced a blown speaker on my 2010 GT3. Prying the 9 door clips which are all all the sides and bottom of the door is nerve wracking. I broke 4 of them but had 9 replacements ready to go. I ended up leaving the wires connected because I didn't want to risk damaging them and I couldn't find a video that clearly explained how to remove them. I just propped the door up off the ground with stuff in the garage so that the wires weren't stressed and I was able to easily work around it to replace the speaker.
Thanx 1 million!! This allowed me to fix the window up/down switch (just had to clean the contacts on the silicon board, car had been sitting for awhile), and save HUNDREDS that it would have cost going to the STEALership. :D Thanx again man!
I've got a really loud rattle coming from the driver's door speaker area. At the same time, the speaker had a lot of distortion suddenly. I hope when I open it up that I won't conclude that it's too hard to fix because it just started a few days ago and it's driving me crazy. Thanks for showing this part of the job.
Do you know how to remove that inner door panel? I'm looking to replace the door handle gasket on the outside and it looks like both the door panels need to come off for that to happen.
Hi I just changed my window switch drivers side once the door card was removed as in video it is very easy the switch is held by 1 plastic springy clip and sits on 2 holding roller bits the hardest part was the wire connector it was a bit fiddly
You very nicely worked thought getting the door panel off and that'll be very helpful for me as I need to change my failed window regulator. But that will also require removing the door air bag. Does anyone know if you disconnect the car's battery before doing so if that may stop the airbag light from coming on? It's coming off either way but it would be nice to know. Thanks!
I hate rattles, I usually go ahead and add some tape/zip ties to any suspicious looking wires/cables or components. I figure if I'm already in there, I should go ahead and secure everything I think may make a difference. Even if it only makes me feel better. LOL
Hi CF, a few questions. I have a 997.2 and need to replace window button surrounds and the center console due to peeling. Any recq's? is the plastidip holding up on yours? any links you could sent me would be helpful. -James
You don't want to see plastic dip. I repainted the window trim myself using flat black paint topped with mother's back to Black (not meant for this application, but it added the perfect sheen to match the original finish) and it looks great. For your center console, I recommend you have it professionally repainted. It's too big to do reliable with a rattle can.
In case you want to try to dismantle the door panel further I made a video when I had to replace the door actuator. ua-cam.com/video/eu_Y-0YDI88/v-deo.html
A rattle in a Porsche? Who would have imagined such a thing? Maybe my 20 year old Lexus will develop one some day. Very different cars and driving experiences, I know. I'll never experience the inestimable joy of over-steer while cornering. Perhaps AWD, wide tires and computers have finally eliminated that. I don't know. But I do hope you continue to enjoy your car...just be careful.

Nicely explained and more importantly, very well edited to keep our interest and hit the high points.
Well explained, great demo for those of us not naturally DIY persons.🇨🇦
I will remove the door panel this weekend on my 2008 911 Turbo, Will replace the Door lock. Thanks for this great video!

Informative video thank you. Quick one, while the door card was off did you see how the window switch surround was held in place to the door card?

Really helpful vid. Thanks!
No problem!

Hello Car Fanatic,
Have you removed the instrument cluster from your 911 997?
Gary
I haven't unfortunately
Hey, man. Love your videos. Quick question - where did you get the tints for your headlights? And which color tint did you use?

Makes a lot of sense!
Car Fanatic do you like the 991 better then the 997?
Can't get that part at 1:50 off. The one clip holds too tight, can't see where to hit it.
You don't need to remove the entire plastic piece by the arm rest. Just lift it up enough to get a screwdriver in.
Mr Fanatic -what is that plastic tool you're using to pry everything apart? thx
Here you go! Thanks for watching and hope you're subscribed. amzn.to/2LgscdQ
Its coming from the actual bose speaker grill in the door.

what was causing the rattle?
I don't know. Something in the door, but too difficult to diagnose. I'll just turn up the radio!
Why are you wearing nitrile gloves?

Lol... has rattle, takes door apart. Now has two rattles

you are describing the Porsche's of the past. Pre-2000's.
