The Sealy Posturepedic Plus is a 14″ innerspring mattress with a poly foam comfort layer atop a classic innerspring unit. It has moderate levels of sinkage and bounce, giving the mattress a balanced feel.
The Posturepedic Plus mattress is available in Plush or Firm. The Plus mattress has a medium feel (5 out of 10 firmness) and the Firm has a slightly firm feel (7 out of 10). These assessments are based on a firmness scale where 10 is the most firm.
This mattress has a performance score of 9.22, which ranks it in the bottom 7% of all mattresses tested to date. The quality of materials really hurts the score and ultimately creates a mattress that struggles to compete with other mattresses on the market.
The Posturepedic Plus RidgeCrest is priced at $849 for a queen mattress, 40% less than the average mattress cost of $1,429 (considering all mattresses and all types tested to date).
Overall, this is an inexpensive mattress, but the performance is also lacking, so in a way, you’re getting what you pay for. If you’re open to other mattress types besides innerspring, many other options have higher performance at a similar price point.

Questions? Ask away! I do my best to answer all questions within 24 hours.
If you prefer a firmer feel, is the firm mattress the way to go vs the plush. Also, is firm better for heavier set sleepers?
@@fozzbear1 Yes, if you prefer a firmer feel then you would go with the firm version.
And yes, firm is better for heavier weighted bodies.
Always returnable too. No questions. That adds much value.
Thanks for the great review as always! I was considering the tight top version of the Posturepedic Plus as I have a topper I love. Do you feel the coils are quality? I wont need the comfort layer? So the foam quality isnt as important for me...
I would say the coil unit is fine, but also nothing I'm impressed with.
Damn, I was actually about to buy this mattress. I was on vacation in Australia and the hotel had really comfortable mattresses. I asked them what the model was and they said it was a "Sealy Posturpedic Crown Jewel". Unfortunately, it appears the Crown Jewel isn't sold in the USA (or the models I have found on the internet for sale in the USA do not look like the Australian version). This RidgeCrest sort of resembles the Crown Jewel so I was thinking about getting it, but I guess I'll look at some of your other mattress videos. I'm a side sleeper who gets hot, going to see if you have other Costco mattress recommendations. Thanks.
I guess I might go with the Leesa Legend 12" Hydrid from Costco instead. The queen is on sale for $900 right now, only $50 than the RidgeCrest.
Glad the video was helpful. I think you'll be much happier with the Leesa Legend. In our tests, it was a significantly stronger performing mattress compared to the Ridgecrest.
I got the firm version of this. Any recommendations on how to make it softer as it is too firm for me?
A 3-4" topper will definitely help.
Something like this - www.amazon.com/LINENSPA-Infused-Memory-Mattress-Topper/dp/B07MY34QH7?tag=nl_1002-20
That said, in a perfect world I wouldn't use a topper unless you're unable to return it and just get something better suited to your needs.
What about the Sealy Posturepedic Plus Mount Auburn? Please let me know thanks.
We're testing that one currently. We should have our contextual review published here - naplab.com/mattress-reviews/sealy-posturepedic-plus-mount-auburn-review/ - in a couple of weeks.
The video will probably be up sometime in June / July.
Why does the video score say 9.22 but the link score say 7.60?
We recently updated our scoring system from version 1.1 to 1.2, as a result, all scores changed site-wide (with all scores going down, as it is now harder to earn the best scores in our system).
The reviews on NapLab have the new / updated scores.

Apparently this mattress is labeled as "cushion firm" on tag.. Can you confirm this?
Cushion firm is technically medium for sealy, Which would make this equal to the Medium one sold at MF.
IT WOULD make sense given there are only 3 main "satisfied" levels from the original release.. IE 13" medium.. and PLUSH, and Medium EURO TOP
Thank you!!
Unfortunately, we no longer have the tags.
I would be surprised if Mattress Firm sold this exact model, as many mattress models at Costco have more unique and stripped down designs to make them less expensive.
how does it compare to ikea HAUGESUND
Unfortunately, I haven't tested that IKEA model. So I am not sure how it would compare. Sorry
also how about Sealy Posturepedic Carver 11” Firm @@NapLabReviews
from costco
@@Sama_09 Here's that review - naplab.com/mattress-reviews/sealy-posturepedic-carver-review/
Their products are awful. I had a Horrible experience with both the product and costumer service. Bought 2 air mattress both deflated within 1 month, Indication of the quality of all products.
Sorry to hear that. That sounds like a nightmare. But thank you for sharing your experience with everyone.
