    The WinkBed mattress is a coil-based mattress that uses pocketed coils and a layer of gel-infused foam to provide comfort and support, with a pillow-top finish. It has an insanely fast response time, great contouring, support, and overall comfort. If you’re highly concerned with cooling and want a mattress that moves with you, the WinkBed is a great option.
    Although they have many similarities, poorer edge support and higher levels of motion transfer were the biggest hits against the Soft. However, a 9.72 is still an exceptionally high score among all the mattresses we’ve tested to date.

    5’6 155lbs. Back and side sleeper. I tried Dreamcloud Premier, Saatva Luxury Firm, and WinkBed Luxury Firm and WinkBed Plus in person at a showroom near me. I originally went in to try the Dreamcloud and Saatva but was taken aback by how much I liked the WinkBed. Saatva was too springy, you can hear the squeak every time. Dreamcloud was okay, no edge support, made my hip hurt, and the plush top wasn’t as nice as people were saying. Anyways, WinkBed Luxury Firm and Plus are now my top 2 choices. I know the plus is for heavier people but it was firm enough and soft enough. Back felt good, when I was laying on my side, hips were fine, it felt like a cloud. I don’t know how to explain it, firmness was perfect but that extra hug from the euro top hugged the body and it felt good.

      Hey Riri - thanks so much for your kind words. Glad to hear you like my reviews :)
      As you discovered, and despite the name, the Winkbed Plus is still a great mattress for even lighter weight sleepers. It's not overly firm, despite having increased support.
      My only concern with the Plus is that the level of support (especially in the mid-section) will not be right for side sleeping. At 155 pounds you would most likely be better served by the Winkbed Luxury Firm if you plan to sleep on both your side and back.
      If you want to move to exclusive back sleeping then I'd feel better about recommending the Plus to you.
      Let me know your thoughts!

    Thanks for all of the great content on your channel! Appreciate the thorough testing and breadth of information provided. I've been bouncing back and forth between purchasing the Winkbed, Bear Elite Hybrid, and Helix Midnight Luxe - replacing an original Bear Hybrid. My wife and I are both predominantly side sleepers (although she sometimes turns to her back), and have found our current bed to be inadequate when it comes to shoulder and hip pressure relief - I'm 5'10" (185 lbs.) and she's 5'2" (170 lbs.). I tend to sleep just slightly on the hotter side. The variety of firmness options - even within one company's model range - adds a good deal of complexity into the decision! Do you feel any of those listed would be good choices? Thank you again.

      You're very welcome! Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad to hear we're hitting the right marks.
      As to what mattress is best for you....my gut feeling is Winkbed Softer version. The added softness will add pressure relief compared to your current mattress, while not being so soft as to introduce new issues.
      Helix Midnight Luxe is too similar to the current firmness of the Bear Hybrid. Also, cooling is good, but not notably better than Bear Hybrid.
      Bear Elite in the soft is an option as well...however, since you've already bought a Bear you're ineligible for the trial period on the Bear Elite. Bear's return policy is pretty strange in that only the very first Bear mattress you buy includes the trial period. See the below segment from their return policy:
      "Only one return of any mattress per customer, household, and/or delivery address. Returns are valid on your first order only (even if you purchase a different mattress the second time). You will be refunded for the cost of the mattress (less any discounts). In order to receive a refund, the mattress must be removed from your home by an authorized party of Brooklyn Bedding LLC and confirmed by Brooklyn Bedding LLC"
      For this reason, I'd say Bear Elite isn't a great option for you.

      @@NapLabReviews Yeah, appreciate the help. Probably going with The Winkbed softer version, since it seems to check all of the boxes and scores highly in your ratings. I did reach out to Bear directly, and asked about their "one per household return policy". They said since it's been a few years since my original purchase of a mattress, that they would extend a new 120 night trial if I did buy a new one. They have that condition in there because - according to them - "We had typically had this policy to lessen our environmental impact (most returned mattresses get thrown out)..." Odd to discover that, since a few other vendors would pick up a return and donate it to a charity. Just thought you'd be interested to know that.

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  Рік тому +1

      @@duaneromanell3431 Ah, well that's good to know. Policy makes sense...but I can see many consumers being surprised and frustrated by it. Nice of them to extend a new trial for you.
      With that in mind I would say the Bear Elite soft is an option...but I'd still probably go Winkbed Softer first.

    I am a 150lb side sleeper and purchased the luxury firm. I think I am going to switch it out for the soft. I do love the mattress after replacing it from a Purple mattress. I just think the soft version might be a little more pressure relief on my hips.

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  Рік тому +2

      That makes sense. Usually lighter weight sleepers do better with a little extra softness. At 150 pounds you're on the border between needing the softer feel and luxury firm.
      As long as you like the general feel of the luxury firm Winkbed then changing to the softer version should be a low risk transition that provides the extra pressure relief you need.

    We currently have a hybrid Nest bed and are experiencing quite a bit of hip pain when side sleeping.
    This looks like a good replacement option after your helpful review.
    We have the mattress on top of our old box spring. Does that matter?
    Is it best to have these mattresses on a hard flat surface?
    Thanks!

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  11 місяців тому +2

      Old box springs aren't usually good foundations for newer mattresses, as the flexible springs don't create ideal support. In addition, older units are more susceptible to damage and degradation over their life, further decreasing support.
      Winkbed (and most modern mattresses) perform better on hard flat surfaces (platform bed, rigid slats, adjustable bases, etc.) Hard, flat, rigid surfaces create better support, leading to better durability and performance.

    My husband is 6'2, weighs 270, and I'm 4'10 weighing 150 pounds. We both primarily sleep on our sides, but we do sleep on our backs sometimes. My husband has rotator cuff issues (one surgery, the other def in the future), so he cannot stay on one shoulder for long. Also, my husband has degenerative disc disease from serving as an army airborne ranger, so lower back pain is a daily reality for him.
    Our current serta mattress is 9 years old, and my lower back has begun hurting after getting up in the morning, which I've never experienced before, so def time to replace.
    Which firmness should we get? Luxury firm or fimer? I'm not so sure the soft version would give the support my husband needs.

    Help! The Winkbed and Helix Lux are about $400.00 difference (today). I am a 250lbs athlete that prefers a strong coil bed with a Euro Top feel. I tried the 5 minute store test yesterday on the Helix Twilight Luxe (Medium Firm) and I liked a lot. I fall asleep on my back but often wake on my side. I am from Wisconsin and I live in Phoenix where each are made, so I would prefer one of these two over a Saatva Classic $300 (today) more than the Winkbed. Are there any reasons why I would want one of these 3 over the other? They all seem to be very very close in numbers. I like that the Saatve is shipped out NOT CRUSHED but the warranty seems lacking once you read it...

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  11 місяців тому

      Honestly, you really cannot go wrong with any of these 3 choices.
      Winkbed and Saatva Classic are the highest scoring mattresses we've tested to date. And Helix Luxe isn't far behind ranked #7 (out of 150+).
      Helix Luxe has a little more of the memory foam feel on top.
      Winkbed has a more balanced feel.
      And Saatva is a bit more of the classic coil feel with a less dramatic body contouring
      Go with the feel that seems like it best meets your preferences. In all cases, the performance will be excellent on any of these 3.

    Im a 6ft 5in 205lb man who needs a longer length bed. A twin XL is to narrow for me, so I was considering getting a queen size since it also comes in 80in length, and a full size bed does not. My questions is if you can sleep in the middle of a queen size Winkbed? My current bed is a queen, but the left and right side have inner foam walls in the middle to minimize motion. Problem is that you can't sleep in the middle because you end up sleeping on these inner foam walls sectioning off the two sides. Thx

    • @NapLabReviews
      @NapLabReviews  7 місяців тому +2

      Yes, you can sleep in the middle of a Queen. But you will want to make sure that your frame / foundation has a strong central support. Many frames / foundations aren't great in the middle, so it could create issues for you long term.
