I am the second of six children. My mom got a lot of comments about how many of us there were. One of her favorite responses when people would say "Wow, you've got your hands full!" is "You should see my heart" and I have always thought that was the best response :)
wow wow wow, this conversation was absolutely amazing! 👏👏👏 I’m a Protestant, but I enjoyed this conversation so much! I learnt sooo much! So many things that I never heard at my Christian school or church.. I wish I had heard this conversation when I was 15 years old.. Thank you so much Matt and Jason for this!
WOW Jason Evert, you are blessed with both knowledge and Wisdom. I thank God for your life. I pray many more people listen to you. So nice to listen to you.
I've heard both of you speak at my high school where I teach theology, Sandusky Central Catholic School. Thank you for your service to the people of God.
Love Jason Evert - because of his talk in 2006 my husband and I chose to use NFP and have for 12 years. Maybe a bit of nuance on the 'open to life thing'. From the woman's perspective who conceives, bears and births the child. I've had two children, two miscarriages, one premature baby who died and two bouts of post partum depression. When you say "when you are choosing a child you are deciding on generations," that's a lot of pressure to put on a woman who is hurting, has experienced loss, trauma, grief... "God wants that one" might not be the best approach to win people over to your argument, to give them the courage to try again? Being someone who writes and talks on the topic in my parish, just be very aware of the deep wounds and traumas people have. Perhaps if I may inject some 'feminine genius' into this conversation: "Yes dear mother who has experienced loss, I see you. I see your pain, trauma and grief. You and your husband are endowed with the gift of free will to prayerfully consider another child. And if your mental health is at stake, it is OK to abstain. Do not feel guilty. Use NFP prudently - if you conceive anyway, you know it was God's will. Each month, have the conversation with yourself. And if the answer is still 'no', trust your discernment and intuition. Your losses are real and valid. You carried those babies in your body and had dreams for their future. You lost a sense of identity in becoming a mother, that was rebuilt in Christ. It is hard, very very hard and I acknowledge that." I know you probably know all of this. But I'm just putting it here in case there is a woman who feels chastised, or that her trauma is invalid, or that she needs to put herself through more trauma so she's not 'sinning'. Nuance :) It's one of the marks of feminine genius... Maybe you should have a female chastity speaker on Matt? Might give wonderful perspective for the women who bear these beautiful children.
Saying with some wisdom and love, though I don't know how to articulate the severity of our society asking for these asides so it's gonna be harsh...every time someone talks about one truth doesn't mean they have to talk about another truth. My husband can't walk from a military injury, would it be fair for him to expect, let alone ask, everyone to acknowledge his pain every time they experience something he can't? Would it be fair for him to expect public asides of pity when someone is talking about something he can't do, particularly when they are sharing ultimate truths? You are the one not being nuanced. You are asking for a disclaimer to coddle your feelings or maybe even get attention for your pain, despite if it takes away from a greater truth, even though you well know that nearly everyone would agree with you. The Catholic Church agrees with you, non-believers would agree, everyone agrees, why in the world would we need to take away from the truth that God might want to create that very special baby, that mothers are the creators of generations? Not to mention he basically said NFP should be used for legit reasons, which would encompass your personal trauma. Speaker on breastfeeding: Let's talk about breastfeeding today! Audience member: Don't forget to mention the mothers that can't breastfeed because their breast were cut off in an African Civil War. Speaker on the goodness of homeschool: .... Audience member: Please, don't forget to mention the families who can't homeschool, or don't forget to mention the good people in public schools. Speaker on the importance of freedom: .... Audience member: But we must also talk about and remember those that aren't free while talking about the levity of freedom. Speaker on the brilliance of God's creation:..... Audience member: Don't forget to mention how some creation has pain and suffering, acknowledge my pain and suffering.
@cjdflkj There IS no goodness in homeschooling 😂 You're going to raise weird, maladjusted losers who can't make friends and go through their entire lives having major social anxiety. Don't bother giving me your success story anecdotes because I won't believe them for a second. I would want to say that homeschooling should be illegal, but I don't ACTUALLY think that, because our country is built on the concept that people are free to make their own idiotic choices as long as they don't hurt others (to a limit). I know the big, scary world is going to try to brainwash your children with its twisted, Satanic beliefs. The Liberals are peeking out from hiding spots, waiting for the exact second that they can snatch your little angel away and force them to watch a drag show or attend a gay wedding. Their most perfect ploy to reprogram your kids is to become teachers and infiltrate the schools, we all know this.
I pray that after RCIA, after I get confirmed after Easter vigil, that I can become a better man in my Catholic life like Matt or Jason. God speed to whoever watches this video.
I have been listening to JE for a while now. Last night I sent the link to my teenaged daughter. She is away from us and she told me that she was getting bored and asked if I could suggest something. I know it was not a coincidence that I was listening to this wonderful conversation earlier in the evening as I was exercising. I prayed to the Lord and forwarded the link to my daughter. She watched the whole thing. She said she could not stop listening. I think if a teenager can watch the whole thing, there is no greater testimony of the gift Jason has been blessed with. I also appreciate the way Matt Fradd interviews his guests. Great going. May God continue to bless you both in your respective missions.
As someone who has seen Metallica four times live I find it fascinating that Hetfield is involved with that, along with a documentary about the impact of absentee fathers on children. A future guest perhaps? 😛
Recently started listening to your podcast. I have enjoyed your perspective on a number of topics. Never heard of Jason before. But I will say he is one of the most engaging speakers I’ve heard. I can see why he is able to reach so many young people. This was so informative and very entertaining. Wish when I was a kid this kind of information was out there. Thank you Matt and Jason. God bless all your hard work.
Thank you for this interview! - I went to a Chastity Talk back in 2008, and Jason handed out a card with the pledge to remain chaste as well as to pray for ones spouse. I fell away from the church, did not stay completely chaste but always kept that card and would pray for my spouse, despite my poor behavior. After getting closer to Christ, having good individuals in my life to guide me, I met my future spouse who entered into the church last year before we were married. Prayers for your spouse are efficacious!
My Mother has 12 pregnancies-lost 5 prematurely. Her Obstetrician told her that the healthiest thing she could do for her physical and emotional health was to get pregnant again as soon as possible. The hormones that are activated after conception stil course they a woman’s body for 9 months, irregardless of her carrying a child to term or not. She followed her MD’s advice-this was in the 1960’s/1970’s and never regretted it. She said each child was a blessing-regardless of the circumstances. She died at age 97 ( 3 yrs ago this Sat 1/5/20. Saintly sources say that she has been united with those little ones who never came into the world, along with my Father and brother who died at age 59 on 1/23/12. Just another way to consider/respond to miscarriage
Jason is always a blast to listen to. One thing about him: I've heard him in many hours of video, but have never heard him pose a question about anything he's sincerely unsure about or interested in. He may have been educated with the question mark never added to his grammatical repertoire. He is a constant force of talking, asserting, claiming, and explaining. Interesting.
This is so good. Can you please make a video with the extract about NFP difficulties and Jason's excellent explanation of how/when it should be used? This segment is a breath of fresh air, and should be required viewing for marriage prep!
I saw Jason when he talked at OSU that same fall. Sat in the front row. 40% of the reason I went was other women, 60% because I needed the talk lol. The next retreat I went on I met my now fiancé.
I loved the show. I want to share it with my parishioners and friends, but they don´t speak english, so I´m doing the spanish subtitles. It would be great if native english speakers edit the auto-generated subtitles. It would help people from other countries to understand everything correctly. And maybe the auto-translation would have better results to many other languages. The content of your videos is excellent, Matt. Ask for volunteers to translate them to spanish and other languages. Suggest this to your friends at Chastity Project. Once I have finished this episode, I want to translate the episode with Stephanie Gray.
I am watching this with Spanish Subtitles, a year after yout commeny. Are these yours? I also watched the one of Stephanie's and she is great. By the way if you had tracking this channel, maybe you are aware they are formally preparing content in Spanish. Maybe you should tey to contact them again. Greetings!
The Church should give up on "marriage" (the civil contract) and fight for 'matrimony" (the sacrament) and encourage their couples to receive the sacrament to have a stronger and better relationship.
Thank you so much for talking about NFP after having a baby! It really stuck with me he how Jason said our default should be openness to life. I find myself trying to use NFP to fit in with secular culture and what is 'acceptable' spacing between children. God is calling us to trust him with our families.
Hi Jason! Hi Matt! I need to talk to both of you about a project in Argentina. I want to translate some of your books so that they are available in my country and in our native language. Peole need to read you.
Hola!
An alternative to early teen dating is to find a mixed group of friends who can do fun activities together and actually get to know one another without premature emotional attachments.
Awesome show...May God bless you both in your Ministries....thank you for making such amazing videos. Loved what your coffee mug reads...and yes indeed’Christianity is true’. Honestly what would we do without Christ.....many blessings and prayers..😊from Perth, WA
I was put on birth control as a teen and it didn’t help. My cycles were crazy irregular, painful, and heavy. I never wanted to really take it and I stopped a few years later. I eventually found vitex and red raspberry leaf and what a difference. After having our first baby, my cycles actually regulated on their own. There are a lot of herbs that can really help better than modern prescription drugs.
Both Matt Fradd and Jason Evert spoke at my high school, on different occasions, and seeing them meet and have a conversation together is kinda blowing my mind. Lol. It's like seeing Bob Ross and Mr. Rogers having a chat over drinks 😂😊
I did P90Exodus once unintentionally. I wasn’t seeking God, I was just poor and didn’t have any hot water. Still a very transformative time, tho. Found God.
The rosary is great for dampening lust. The world is obsessed by recreational sex which on many occasions lead to death either by abortion or mortal sin.
can I just say, since it's an hour long vid, I've started and stopped it and kept coming back but that's not what I 'm getting at. each time there was a section that I've wanted to click the like button and disappointed that I couldn't like it again each time.
Saints of old will be quoted for their witty responses and powerful words, new Saints "You can use the promo code 'MATTFRADD'" "This is how little girls flirt." JK love you both God Bless
I've had pre-eclampsia with every pregnancy and my husband and I have only ever used NFP- never used a condom once. I hope you told that woman on the plane that it's not a 1-1 equation there....
With NFR, we wait till marriage comes along then, learn. I believe NFR for teen girls will help more teens be better prepared. The right time to teach men their part is the major question.
Not only are the fish downstream getting the hormones from the birth control "waste", the water that is recirculated back into the municipal water supply still has traces of it also. Humans are ingesting these hormones unknowingly, Many people think that the increase in gender dysphoria is a result of this.
Great show. Jason does a great job of getting the truth of who we are and what we were made for out there. However similarly to several comments below, I can't seem to find any references to some of the facts Jason was relaying. Specifically, that male birth control was invented at the same time as female birth control. Everything that I have read is saying that that stuff is only recently coming online. Keep doing what you are doing guys, God bless.
I think re NFP, you need to be aware/sensitive to of the 1 in 8 Catholics who struggle with Infertility. We've been open to life our entire marriage and so far, we've only been blessed with one child (Thanks to God and NAPRO). I know women who have been pregnant over and over only to miscarry each time. Couples with 'empty hands' aren't necessarily contracepting. I don't have a small family by choice. It's completely out of our hands. Not every open-to-life Catholic Couple will have their own baseball team (I wanted my own team, but I suspect they are waiting on me in Heaven)
Look into vitex and red raspberry leaf. I am not sure how your cycles are, but these are excellent herbs paired together. Vitex helps the pituitary gland naturally produce the correct amount of hormones your body needs as a woman and the red raspberry leaf nourishes the uterus and strengthens it to help carry a baby to term. You need to take it consistently but it’s inexpensive and it not only works for fertility issues, but it works so well at fixing reproductive issues. My cycles were terrible I’m more ways than one. These helped regulate me so much better and they were less painful and not nearly as heavy. After having a baby my issues actually seemed to correct itself, but these herbs do work. You just have to give it some time.
Thank you so much for discussing all of these tough subjects you two! So great! Hermoza was co-created by Phillip Rivers Wife for all of you Football fans. Let your wife know! Great company!
@27:30 - He says Protestants lack a theology of sexuality. That is just not true. Now, to be fair, perhaps there isn't a UNIFIED Protestant theology of sexuality. But that doesn't mean Protestants don't develop coherent positions from a consistent methodology. For instance, one Protestant line is to take moral action as grounded in God's commands. And there are explicit commands about fornication, adultery, etc.. Not to mention there is Jesus' interpretation of such commands as that there are sins of the mind. Looking at a woman with lust = adultery. Protestant theologians attempt to identify the general moral principles and apply them to particular cases (e.g., masturbation, living together before marriage).
I know the catholic view on masturbation. But lets say I'm not married and experience frequent sexual desires(duh), which may lead me to choosing the wrong partner for marriage or just having sex outside of wedlock. Wouldn't it be better if I just masturbated once a week to sort of get these desires out of my system? And also doctors say that not ejaculating on a somewhat regular basis may lead to prostate cancer and similar health problems. What's your take on this?
I watched this video and loved it. I was wondering, does anyone know where to find all the things Jason Evert cited as facts and studies? Specifically on STDs. I am writing a book on TOB and I'd like to include the things he brought up. I found some of the things they discussed on chastity.com, but other things, like the chance of passing on an STD goes down with time, I couldn't find it there or anywhere else. Maybe the people of the internet could help me, maybe someone from the site could help, I don't know. I'm just hoping to find the studies to at least share them with others.
Hey Matt, I have a question that has weighed on me. I know you might not see this but it’s worth the shot…. So I know a family that are Christian and they practice their faith but the husband had cheated in his last marriage and he has repented and said his sorry to his wife but they divorced and is now married to a woman and this is her first marriage. Is he and the woman he is currently married, right? Is their marriage good and lawful?
It’s hard to hear the part about porn stars. Women who were victimized often turn into the porn star figure because it feels like a position of strength and control. I know too many women who have gone into the industry :( The average age of a prostitute is 26-27 years old. Probably because they reach a point of “maturity” in their sex lives and decide why not make money off of it.
Jason Evert is one of my favorite humans. Please enjoy the show and help us out be sharing and subscribing!
How can I contact you? I need Jason and Peter Kreeft as well....
Jason Evert is my favourite human too, love all his books! Thanks for having him Matt :)

I've heard both of you guys Matt and Jason but there so much to keep on learning.. Thank you for all you do. God bless you guys
An alternative to early teen dating is to find a mixed group of friends who can do fun activities together and actually get to know one another without premature emotional attachments.
"These guys are emotionally 12 years old, still playing video games..."
Me, saving the earth from giant frogs while listening to this: "So true."
Incredible interview. Fantastic information found nowhere else.
Good advertising. Love listening to both of you. Buying the book now.
This was amazing
"If you think TV's better than sex, you're not doing it right!"
Hello, 911? I'd like to report the murder of a barista in broad daylight
Awesome show...May God bless you both in your Ministries....thank you for making such amazing videos. Loved what your coffee mug reads...and yes indeed’Christianity is true’. Honestly what would we do without Christ.....many blessings and prayers..😊from Perth, WA
Is it just me, or is Jason's mug perched just right at the edge of that book (Bible?)?
Love these two btw :)
Thank you very very much for putting the link to full interview. Could you do that for all your small segments? Thank you
I just read his book "the dating blueprint" It's awesome!
Both Matt Fradd and Jason Evert spoke at my high school, on different occasions, and seeing them meet and have a conversation together is kinda blowing my mind. Lol. It's like seeing Bob Ross and Mr. Rogers having a chat over drinks 😂😊
LOVE THESE TWO BROS
Great episode 👍
Incredible video. Keep up, guys!
Jason is awesome ❤
the TV comeback was great!!!!
Love the talk
I did P90Exodus once unintentionally. I wasn’t seeking God, I was just poor and didn’t have any hot water. Still a very transformative time, tho. Found God.
The rosary is great for dampening lust. The world is obsessed by recreational sex which on many occasions lead to death either by abortion or mortal sin.
Matt Fradd
That’s a lovely pipe collection you got up there on the shelf brother. I see you even rock the Oom Paul style. 👏🏻
Awesome talk!
Thank you Fradd.
can I just say, since it's an hour long vid, I've started and stopped it and kept coming back but that's not what I 'm getting at. each time there was a section that I've wanted to click the like button and disappointed that I couldn't like it again each time.
Saints of old will be quoted for their witty responses and powerful words,

"You can use the promo code 'MATTFRADD'"
"This is how little girls flirt."
JK love you both God Bless
I've had pre-eclampsia with every pregnancy and my husband and I have only ever used NFP- never used a condom once. I hope you told that woman on the plane that it's not a 1-1 equation there....
With NFR, we wait till marriage comes along then, learn. I believe NFR for teen girls will help more teens be better prepared. The right time to teach men their part is the major question.
Re "Overspiritualizing Marriage" Spot. On.
Just noticed the BTW, Christianity is true mug!!
Practical help would be great
Not only are the fish downstream getting the hormones from the birth control "waste", the water that is recirculated back into the municipal water supply still has traces of it also. Humans are ingesting these hormones unknowingly, Many people think that the increase in gender dysphoria is a result of this.
Regarding his statement about kinds of persons, Devine, angelic and human. Are demons another category that he forgot or are they angelic persons?
I have a question how far is to far while dating....... Kissing....... Is it okay or not
Alex Jones “they’re making the frogs gay”. Well I guess it’s true
Btw Matt. Covenant eyes gives 1 month free regardless if we put your code or not.
We need you in Spain
I know the catholic view on masturbation. But lets say I'm not married and experience frequent sexual desires(duh), which may lead me to choosing the wrong partner for marriage or just having sex outside of wedlock. Wouldn't it be better if I just masturbated once a week to sort of get these desires out of my system? And also doctors say that not ejaculating on a somewhat regular basis may lead to prostate cancer and similar health problems. What's your take on this?
75% of men die with prostate cancer, but prostate cancer rarely causes symptoms or death. Some cancers are very very slow growing.
Ethan Hall I was wondering the same thing hah...too bad there’s no replies :(
Hi Jason! Are you planning any talks for the school kids at the school in which your children attend? Fellow parent at that particular school
How do I get a cup? Btw, Christianity is true?
54:00 they're putting chemicals in the water to make the frogs gay!
What is the title of the book? I didn't hear you guys say it
It’s hard to hear the part about porn stars. Women who were victimized often turn into the porn star figure because it feels like a position of strength and control. I know too many women who have gone into the industry :( The average age of a prostitute is 26-27 years old. Probably because they reach a point of “maturity” in their sex lives and decide why not make money off of it.
Any “single” in the church whether divorced or never married has little recognition.
