A very productive trip Scott, a lot of train action. The town totally awesome to visit, that new camera is a addition. Very cool video thanks again.😇👌👍
Excellent Video Scott!!! Love the R. J. Corman engines. Scenic River and mountains. One of my favorite places my wife and I vacation at is West Virginia, but on the Northeastern Panhandle at Harper's Ferry, Charles Town, and Brunswick, MD. CSX runs trains from Fredrick MD to Charles Town, WV through the tunnel before crossing the Potomac River at Harper's Ferry. If you ever get a chance into that region, make sure you take Jaw Tooth with you. You will see Coal, mixed manifest, and Amtrak. Brunswick MD has a train museum, next to the Potomac River and Shenandoah River crosses the Potomac, Right in the heart of 3 states: West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland right in the middle of the mountains, Wow it is so beautiful there.
Just started to follow and subscribe to your channel, I have been following JT for some time now. The RJ Corman Engines were really cool, excellent work. Thurmond seems like a nice place to visit. Thank you gambit.
Thurmond is such a cool place and the whole New River Gorge is magical. The R.J. Corman action was a bonus. I hear ya on the allergies, I've been double huffin' Flonase for a month. Excellent video, enjoyed the heck out of it. Thanks man!
Thurmond is such a great place. Definitely on my bucket list. You got some great shots here Scott but that ethanol train with the UP and KCS locos coming past the storefronts with the old coaling tower in the back is classic. Great catches. Thanks a lot.
This a great video Scott. Cool to see the RJ Corman SD40's. Love the red locomotives they have. This video had a lot of different trains including Amtrak. Thurmond is a beautiful place. Well done my friend
Love the location such an epic spot, an urban explorer explored the buildings in that ghost town on a UA-cam channel great job gambit always impressing
I love Thurmond Scott, beautiful ghost town in beautiful West Virginia. Ive seen JT here & the legend that was Shoestring he climbed up a tower filmed himself at the top, just crazy.😅 i love coal trains use to see a lot where i live but not anymore since the mines closed down. Brilliant video Scott so much content much appreciated. ❤😊👍
The last tank train isn't hauling ethanol. Not sure what it is as I can't read the numbers on the placards. They're green which means it is a non flammable gas. Chlorine is one possibility The earlier tank train was ethanol. Good video by the way.
Thanks for the info, Perch. I don`t have much of a chance to try and figure out what the placards are when I`m filming the train as it passes because I can`t see them very well in the camera since it`s so small.
I suspect that could be it. The squeal comes from the wheel flanges grinding against the rail in curves and spots where the gauge may be a little narrow.
Alex saved the day! Without him our video of RJ Corman would not have been very good . We would never have made it to the crossing
That`s a fact! We would have never beat the train to the crossing if we were walking all that distance! Alex is the man!
Loved the KCS locomotive. I've been to Thurmond twice, eastbound and westbound Cincinnati to DC and back on the Cardinal.
I`m going to have to do that one of these days. Thanks for watching, Steve!
Great to meet you guys! Thanks for the mention as well! I think we all enjoyed ourselves.
It was a great day! 😁

Thanks! You`re very welcome, John!
You and JawTooth got lucky with that UP leader! Don’t see much of that here. Weather couldn’t have been better! Great video!
We had a great day hanging out with you guys. Hope to be back down there again!
Love it when you guys make the effort to go to THR. Thanks a lot 👍🙏
You`re very welcome! Thank you for watching!
Wow, Gambit, a coal train with 201 cars, great video.
Old ghost towns are amazing places to visit. I know of a few in Arizona. Another great video.
Thank you Steve!
👍👍! Beautiful area. I love to see ghost towns and old train bridges.
It`s a very cool place with a ton of history behind it. Lots of good info online if you are interested. Used to be a booming place back in the day.

Harpers Ferry is on my list for sure. Jaw Tooth has been there a few times already and he loves the place!

Really want to check that place out.
It`s very cool, but the drive is a killer to do in a day.
Great Catches Scott!
Thanks Hunter!
That is one long coal train Gambit!
It sure was! My arm was going to sleep holding the camera! LOL

Good vid, bro!
Thanks Brother, I really appreciate it!
Great ....🙂 👍
Thank you Raimo, I`m glad you liked it!
Fairbanks Morse built many things, the uss drum submarine has Fairbanks and Morse engines
They were a huge company back in the day. They made engines, and scales too.
Thurmond is a great place to railfan have not been there for almost a week lol
Shame on you! Lol

@@1960gambit don't worry. You are doing just fine.
How many trains go through a day
From what I have experienced, 6 to 8 in 24 hours on an average day.
I counted 3/201
Thanks for watching!
That’s what a true railroad town looks like…minus the people.
The Cardinal ought to be daily. But it’s not gonna happen.
It`s a very unique place for sure!
Why do train wheels make that howling noise?, Does it come from the Bearings
I suspect that could be it. The squeal comes from the wheel flanges grinding against the rail in curves and spots where the gauge may be a little narrow.
