I just bought the G430 driver yesterday and went back today to buy a hybrid....found i actually liked a used G425 5 hybrid for $110 less than a new G430--playing tomorrow and I'm pretty excited to see how it plays out on the course. Thank you for the video--liked and subbed!
I just got fitted to this hybrid and the g425 driver. I tried them all and just smashed the pings. My heart was set on Taylormade and my entire new club set ended up being PING. I cared more about what I hit well than what was in the bag.
late to the party. you like them a year later? I told my fitter, hand me clubs and shafts and tell me nothing. Landed on the Ping G425 3W,5h. Obviously shafts are apart of the equation but after 3 shots, my confidence was at 💯. From left field, the Callaway Triple Diamond Driver is amazing.
I was trying to decide Between the Taylormade Stealth and this Ping G 425. I had the opportunity to test both in several lofts in actual play for several days. I tried both with the Senior flex shafts available. I liked the Stealth's a good deal but found I love the Ping G 425's. The feel, dispersion and overall results at least for me favored the Ping by quite a bit. The alignment aides on the clubs were much easier for me to see on the Ping. I also got the impression that Ping put more quality into the shafts. I was pretty blown away by just how good the Ping G 425"s felt on the golf course. I agree with Lee. These Pings are amazing. BRAVO PING INDEED !!!!!!
I just got fitted for this club today. Amazing feel, so light off the deck felt effortless hitting this 250 on the sim with 150 ball speed on the trackman. My favorite club of my full bag fitting!
I have a 5 and 6 as I have always struggled with anything below a 7 iron. I can hit these hybrids just beautifully and they give me so much confidence. They make a great sound when you hit the sweet spot. I’m so pleased I purchased them. Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍
Bought the same club 2 weeks ago, brilliant can’t hit a bad shot with it . Retired my driver, just been using this club for most tee shots. Can’t recommend it enough 👍
Did the same thing with my 5 hybrid considering it’s the only hybrid I have at the moment. Just started two months ago and couldn’t break 100. Left the headcover on the driver and just tee’d up my hybrid since I stripe it well. Shot a 92 today and played every fairway. I got a G425 3 hybrid on the way.
I have 2 hybrids, PXG Gen5 and Titleist TS2. When Ping came to our club for demo fitting, I immediatly loved the consistency and ease of hitting Ping G425 17* with a draw bias setting. My carry distance went up as well as plenty of roll which helps since I am not a long hitter. I feel like Lee when describing my review with this club which is in my bag and the other 2 are in the garage - LOL!
I think these are the best hybrids I’ve played. I’ve just ordered the 5 and 6 to replace my long irons. Easy to hit and so forgiving. Highly recommended!
Just ordered both the G425 SFT 3 wood and the 26 degree Hybrid based on your reviews! I already own the G425 SFT Driver so it wasn’t hard to convince me, but I appreciate your confirming them for me!
Fitted for and bought a new G425 3 wood lofted up to 15.5 today, will be using it on course tomorrow, looking forward to it, good weather and not too much wind. I already have 2 x Ping G410 hybrids which I bought last year. They (Ping) really do make some great clubs and so easy to hit and forgiving. (Absolutely 😀). Lee, you’re hitting that well enough to come and play at B&BGC, use that and you would stay clear of the dunes and nasty rough. P.S. of course it’s going in your bag, it’s a no brainer.
Hey Lee I know I am late to the party, but I have the G425 in the 3 thru 6 hybrids as I am a little older and dont like long irons. How would you compare these 425's to the newer hybrids, such as The ST max, Qi10 or AI Smokes?
Great test Lee!!! I wish I could visit you but unfortunately we are still not allowed to travel outside the Netherlands. I would love to test this club myself.
@@davrotequila Update. I’ve now cranked it up to 23.5 degrees. Very easy to hit. Considering getting the 26 deg 5H and dropping the 4 back to 22 degrees.
Bought the 22° version yesterday and after about an hour I realized it was probably already my favorite club in my bag. Came here to see if other people felt the same, seems I was right.
I agree with a few posts below. A compare against the halo on course. However I do think the PING setup will be better longer term. Personally PING should go in the bag if I were to vote.
I went to get a 425 3 hybrid... came home with a cleveland Halo 3 hybrid. Extremely easy to hit. Used it 3 or 4 times on a a quick 9 holes without issue. Long, straight, great loft. Not saying it's the best, but daamn close
I have a set of Ping G irons that I love. A student of mine, I'm a golf instructor, just got a set of Tour Edge irons - WOW! I've been testing a Tour Edge driver with a senior flex - yes, I'm a senior golfer - and it's fantastic. I guess guys on the Senior Tour use them for a reason besides being paid to.
I've got the 2 hybrid...dropped the loft by 1.5*.....at sea level with no roll I'm carrying 250yards....I'm a +1 handicap ... The ONLY downside is the price .... It really is more expensive than the other major brands....and you NEVER see it tomorrow non special ....which just breaks my heart because I want a 3 Hybrid as well
How’s the gapping working for you? I already have the 4H and am not sure whether to go for the 5 or 6. I can’t hit my 5i very well hence the potential replacement.
Great stuff Lee. You are growing into this. Have you tried the Taylor made Sim2’hybrid ? Be interested to hear how you think the two compare and why you think the ping is better. Have the ping 425 7 wood. But Taylor made sim 2 3&5 woods. Keep it up. Great stuff
i so want all the new g425 clubs. tried the driver and the FW the other day and they are amazing. yes they are loud but they are also so amazingly straight. need to try the hybrid aswell. Or maby i shouldn't haha. i can't afford more clubs haha
There's too many good clubs this year. It's exhausting! You didn't mention if it's going in the bag. You've probably already done a shoot out video by now! 😂 I'm waiting for your Z Forged to arrive. Get a move on Srixon!
@@LWG Well... I went down to tge pga superstore in Scottsdale.... tried every shaft, could not mesh with any off them. Finally settled on the tour x or something. Okay, they can get the shaft in 5 or 6 weeks. Mind you, I struggled with the 425 in general a good 45 minutes. Sooo... I tried the other club in my mind. Shot 1, 2, 3 were right down the middle. Not only could I get that hybrid today, I could save $100 bucks. I have a new HALO 3 19° in my bag. I watched a few vids on it and came across your 3 hybrid review on lesser hyped clubs and smiled when you said you bag that one. I really wanted the ping to work but the Cleveland did everything I wanted the Ping to do and must be one of the easiest club I have ever hit. I love Cleveland, only my driver and putter (TM on both) including a NIBLICK.
The size of that head, front-to-back, looks more like a fairway wood than a hybrid. Ping also make a 7 Wood and a 9 Wood. How does the head size compare? It DOES look a bit smaller from the top, despite that wide-looking sole.
@@LWG Fair enough, Lee. I have a PGA TOUR Superstore just down the road. I can pop in there and if they have both clubs in stock I can compare them. Only problem is, whenever I go in there I end up buying something!! 😳
I have the 22 degree and I love it. I have long arms, so need a flat lie angle. The Ping has those flat settings and that is a game changer for me. Almost every other hybrids are too upright for me, so everything goes left. NOT with this club.
Your peak heights of 33 meters are spot on to use that club - anyone with a slower swing speed would be better with a 7wood or 5wood, or both - but those are really nice numbers. I would be tempted to try the club in the flat setting as it likely takes 1/2 that draw away - which would then build your confidence to use it in gaming situations if there is trouble on the left - also potentially that shaft in an X-flex.

Ladies and gentlemen , I am proud to announce the engagement between lee and the ping 425 hybrid
Glad to hear they're getting married..
I just got fitted to this hybrid and the g425 driver. I tried them all and just smashed the pings. My heart was set on Taylormade and my entire new club set ended up being PING. I cared more about what I hit well than what was in the bag.
I was set on Cobra and ended up also with the entire set of ping and I already had my anser 2 putter.
Ping is a better brand than Taylormade, a Ping in the bag is top quality

Taylormade is trash, even if you cared more about what was in the bag Ping > Taylormade on name alone
Just bought the g425 driver, definitely going to be getting this... Probably go for the "4" 22 degree I believe, brilliant review.. Thanks

I've got the 3 & 4 Ping G425 hybrids. I love them ! Now is the time to pick them up because its and older model.
I confirm, I had a Wilson D7, Callaway Mavrik, Cobra Radspeend, Callaway Apex 21 and now the Ping G425, a real gem

How are you liking the clubs?
i was considering g425 vs tsi2 but after seeing this video, i'm going with ping.
good to see someone highlight the std dev, some reviews ignore it and its most important when selecting a club
So pleased with your review, as I've been fitted for a g425 4 hybrid delofted by 1 degree to gap with irons.

Just bought the G425 #4 hybrid and Driver, along with i525 irons looking forward to progressing my game🤞🤞
I bought the G425 irons and G425 driver.... might have yo buy a hybrid 3/4 to complete the set! Ping knocked it out of the park with this G425 series.
Great review... but now the question is (as always) would it be better to have a hybrid or a 5 or 7 fairway wood?
Yes Lee,late reply,but I've just been fitted for the 3 wood and hybrid,fantastic clubs,great video mate⛳🏌️👍
Can't wait,I just got one today and it's fitted for me,super exited
Bravo sir! Just picked one up second hand and I will get to play it very soon.
Just got fitted for one today 👌🏼 was close between the ping and the srixon for myself.
hey, my irons (5-U) in TT 105 in stiff...if I was shopping for 4 iron, should I go to 4 hybrid instead? if so what shaft and stiffness? thnx

Hi Lee..would the X flex in the orange play too stiff for this hybrid tks..
Not if your swing was fast enough for it mate
Year after year Ping just release quality clubs for all handicaps
I've never hit a ping club before. Maybe when I am in the market for another club in the future I can try.
